I would like to thank you for your part in giving myself and my family one of the best holidays we have ever had. What a beautiful place and absolutely fantastic accommodation. I have a feeling we will return some day. It has been a pleasure doing business with you.
Best Wishes, Tim Jordan.
Our vacation was absolutely perfect. The condo was very neat and clean. All photo's of the condo were exact representation of what we got. The neighbor's were very nice, and the location was very quiet and peaceful. We're going back again if we can! The owner of the condo even called me one day to make sure everything was fine and that we were enjoying ourselves.
My wife and I are planning another trip next year and we will surely look at this property again in the future.
Activities we did: 1) Eateries were fantastic, favorite places to eat were Castaway, Annette's. 2) Snorkeling by the condo. 3) Snorkeling from a catamaran. 4) Scuba diving with the folks at Tilden's 5) The biplane ride was awesome! Paul is a heck of a comic and the ride was beautiful! Fly Conch Air! It is worth every dollar!
One week wasn't enough. We hit up a different eatery every day, but Castaway we had to go there twice.
Joe, if we can, we'll try to get something lined up for the end of June 2010 as soon as school lets out for our boys.
This was the best vacation we have ever had!
We could not have been more pleased with our stay at this beautiful condo. Not only was the Owner a pleasure to deal with but the realtor, Barbara McKee, was beyond helpful and accommodating. We were so surprised to find out how private and quiet this property was. The pool is fantastic with a gorgeous waterfront view, it was such a relaxing treat to float in the pool and watch the boats go by out in the water. We greatly enjoyed our quiet walks on the quiet, private beach and all of the wildlife that we saw.
As we stepped in to the condo we were mesmerized by the stunning view we were blessed with, honestly the pictures on this website do not do this property justice! The patio is screened in, however one will be thankful for that as the bugs at night could be quite bothersome if you are like we are and like to spend as much time outside as possible. The kitchen is nicely updated and has ample space and amenities. We found everything and more that we needed to cook for an entire week here. The Owners have done an amazing job at keeping this condo stocked with everything you need for fun in the sun, relaxing indoors and even any necessities you may need in regards to personal or cleaning/maintaining the condo. I am extremely picky about the comfort of beds and the beds exceeded my expectations.
If you would like to grill your fresh caught food, burgers or anything else, there is a wonderful place to grill just steps from your little slice of heaven and we found this a nice little treat a few times while we stayed here. If you are one for eating out, do not miss a trip to Island Fish Co., you can even place a to go order and bring some fresh seafood back "home" to eat on your waterfront patio.
The beach is fantastic. It is a natural beach but we did not find this a problem and neither did our children. Live a little and enjoy the nature around you, that's what the Keys are about! The pristine waters here are such a treat and they are all yours. Do not miss a day trip to Bahia Honda, it's a short drive and such a beautiful place and also be sure to visit the Dolphin Research Center!
All in all, we could not have been more pleased or more thankful for the opportunity to stay here and will definitely be booking here again. Many thanks to the Owners for their hospitality and for offering up such a nice little slice of heaven!
Just returned from a week staying here and had a wonderful time - I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. The condo is very comfortable and very well equipped (in fact the photos do not do the condo justice). The location is perfect - right on the beach with a small private beach and a lovely pool (which we practically had to ourselves for the week). The Florida Keys are beautiful, and we had a great time exploring the area. Our favourite place was Key West which is definitely worth a visit (or 2!) - it is about 75 mins drive from Marathon. Our favourite eating place in the area was The Island which was only a few mins drive from the condo and served great breakfast. lunch and dinner. Our daughter also went scuba diving with Captain Hooks, from where we also hired a boat. All in all a great holiday and hopefully not the last time we will visit Marathon. Thanks Joe for letting us stay in your holiday home.
Pros: The actual condo was great! Just as you would have wanted. It's quiet, the pool was very warm (we were there in December), and there was an elevator. My parents (both age 63) loved the place. I would definitely suggest it for seniors or anyone else wanting to get away from it all.
Cons: As I mentioned, we went in December. The water was cold (wet suit required- and we're from California). Daytime Air temps ranged from 55 - 70 degrees. The beach was groomed by tractor every morning starting @ 7:30 (very loud), and the sea weed was then dumped back into the water (why?). The water here was not very clear - very thick black seaweed just a few feet from shore. In order to to do anything that the teenage/young adult crowd would consider lively, you must travel 1 1/2 hours one way to Key West on a two-lane road. The water in Key West is just as cold, though, but is a lot clearer. If you are planning a vacation in winter time to get to warm, crystal clear water with plenty of water activities, you will pay almost the same and get much more for your money to go on to Cancun, Cozumel, etc.
Overall, we found the overall Key scene to be a little disappointing for what we were expecting. As I mentioned, though, if you are looking for quiet time and don't plan on a lot of activities or ocean swimming, the condo we stayed was great.
The condo was better than we imagined, the photo's do not give a true impression of the size of the place. The local area was fantastic, a very short drive to "7 Mile Bridge" and the walk to Pidgeon Island on the rail bribge from which we were able to see Sharks, rays, various other fish and loggerhead turtles in their natural environment. All of this combined with fabulous weather.
In addition the local agent, Barbara McKee was extremely helpful.
Just wanted to thank you for contributing to our fantastic holiday. The apartment was extremely comfortable, well equipped with a superb location. We enjoyed the air displays put on by the local band of pelicans and ospreys as well as enjoying all the wonderful activities that the Keys have to offer.
We're now back in sub zero temperatures with snow, sleet and rain. Still we try to hold on to the feelings of warmth and the sights and sounds of the ocean.
We'll certainly be back!
The Coco Plum Beach Villas are located in Marathon, FL at Mile Marker 54.5. Just 60 minutes from Key West and 60 minutes from Key Largo, we are at the midpoint of the Florida Keys island chain. Locals call home 'The heart of the Keys' for geographic reasons, but also to reflect the old-Keys lifestyle they enjoy among the spectacular fishing, diving, snorkeling and sailing.
Sombrero Reef, a federally protected section of North America's only living coral barrier reef, lies just a few miles offshore. Beyond it are the deep blue waters of the Florida Straits, which teem with billfish and tuna in the winter and dolphin fish in the summer.
Many of the island's marine activities are situated on Boot Key Harbor, a peaceful tropical cove in the center of the island. The harbor is famous for its sunset views and is home to the City Marina.
Food aficionados can enjoy fresh local fish prepared simply or gourmet style, and many of these restaurants are located right on the water.
