This unique Katama neighborhood has its own private beach and dock. South Beach is only 1.5 miles from the house. South Beach is known for excellent waves, long sandy beaches and beautiful sunsets making it the ideal beach for fishing swimming or just a leisurely stroll. Edgartown center 1 mile to the north - the most elegant of the Vineyard's six picturesque towns. Nestled beside a stunning harbor, her ivy-covered Greek Revival buildings and old world village center makes you feel as if you have stepped back in time. Many of the Island's finest stores and boutiques, restaurants, and art galleries are found here. Befitting its maritime history as a whaling port, Edgartown is also a yachting center of international repute and during summer and fall the harbor is a kaleidoscope of brightly colored sails. Edgartown Great Pond is also close by, with access for kayaks and small boats.
Martha's Vineyard Many Attractions: Martha's Vineyard is many different islands to many different people. For some, it is the outdoor life – the beaches, sailing regattas, biking, golf, fishing or walking through the wildlife refuge. For others, the attraction is the charm of a bygone era – the stately captains' houses of Edgartown and Victorian gingerbread cottages of Oak Bluffs. Still others enjoy the resort quality of the island – all the shops, interesting restaurants and nightlife. No matter which Martha's Vineyard you treasure most, the Clarion Martha's Vineyard lets you enjoy your stay even more, with its modern amenities and superb location.
Martha's Vineyard Season of Choice: I would like to welcome you and your family to Martha's Vineyard during all four of the Island's distinct seasons. Vineyard summers inspire lifelong memories of endless beaches and rolling surf, chilled lemonade and piled-high ice cream cones, morning bike rides and leisurely strolls at sunset. Increasingly, spring and fall have become popular among those who wish to sample the Island's many off-season delights. Then there is our country-style holiday season, which provides a window in time to a bygone era. Whatever the time of the year, Martha's Vineyard's doors are open to visitors who come for the promise of an unforgettable vacation experience!
I stayed here in April. The house was very clean, well cared for with a very kind owner who was very helpful. I would recommend. We spend days at South beach, exploring the island, went to a poetry reading at Che's cafe, and got great fishing advice from Coop at Coop's Tackle shop. Plan to go back again.
