Beautiful cottage on west side of Otsego Lake, Gaylord. Very quiet location surrounded by mature huge white pine trees. It is on the sheltered South West Bay of Otsego, favorite place for water skiing and tubing because of the calm water. The cottage was completely renovated in 2008. Natural wood burning fireplace, granite counters, washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, great views of the lake, small sandy beach. Skiing, snowmobiling, hunting nearby. Available by the week or month. Special rates May, 2016. 4th of July week extra.
This cottage was just as described. It is actually bigger than the pictures make it look. The kitchen is nice with lots of counterspace for a cottage. Having a washer and dryer is a big plus! The bathroom is super nice with a huge shower! Plenty of room in the bedrooms. The beds were typical cottage type, not like a hotel, but decent enough. It is a quiet area of Ostego Lake, which is nice. The lake is huge! Only thing is you can't really swim right off the property. Lots of lily pads and it is pretty deep off the edge of the dock, so if you have kids, keep this in mind. However, there is a state park less than a mile away with a really nice beach area. The location is great - close to Gaylord, less than an hour from Petoskey, about an hour from Traverse City. Makes a nice hub if you want to explore. The central air is a nice perk too!
My husband & I had a very relaxing, great 2 week stay @ the Beasley Beach House recently. The listing description was very accurate and the photos definitely reflected the appearance of the cottage! Kitchen appliances are great as is the shower. We ate most all our meals on the deck overlooking beautiful Otsego Lake. Lots of activities on the lake and several boat launching areas if you have a boat. We weren't bothered by bugs or mosquitoes which was a plus! The property was clean and very well maintained. The owners, Mary & Keith, stopped by shortly after we arrived to welcome us and answer any questions we might have which was very nice! We would definitely recommend this property to friends & relatives. The property is very conveniently located and only an hour from Mackinaw City & Traverse City.
We had a wonderful stay at the Beasley Beach House! My husband and I were there with our 2 children (ages 6 & 10). As other reviews state the house is much nicer than the pictures portray it! The kitchen is beautiful with granite countertops and top of the line appliances. Although the bathroom is small the stone tiled shower replicated a 5 star hotel. Mary made sure to supply all the comforts of home including cable tv & wifi (which our kids enjoyed when they needed some downtime). We especially enjoyed the central location of the cottage and it made it very convenient for multiple 1 hour day trips to Traverse City, Petoskey, Mackinac City & St. Ignace. Next time we will definitely bring a boat to get maximum usage of Ostego Lake! Very calm and ideal for jet skiing or waterskiing. We looked into renting a boat however PSR is the only watercraft rental available in the area and they are very overpriced! Swimming is best at the State Park across the lake, much sandier, not so mucky and afternoon sun. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves & look forward to coming back!
Our group had a couple and two unrelated adults. Everyone was very comfortable. The cottage is better than the pictures. It was beautiful weather during our visit and since it was during the week it was so quiet. We enjoyed the great views of the lake, we even saw a bald eagle. It was so nice we decided to stay an extra night, Mary was extremely nice to work with and very accommodating. We loved the remodeled shower, it was a big hit with the ladies. We will be back in the fall to enjoy this place again. We highly recommend Rascal Jakks in Vanderbilt for the best burgers around.
Loved the views from inside and outside of the house. Very clean and comfortable home with all the amenities. The owners were very quick to respond to emails and phone calls for questions that we had. Every year we come up to Gaylord for our birthday and this is by far the cleanest and comfortable place we have stayed in. We already have recommended it to family members and will be back next year. Loved that we were able to bring are dog too. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home.
I stayed here for a week while teaching a class- the home was very clean and the pictures are exactly as they show. I was hoping for a spot I could have gotten in the water but obviously the water was way down at this time of year. I'd stay here again-next time in the winter to take advantage of the fireplace and of course being on the water wouldn't matter to me.
