Why patricia doss chose Bumpass

This rental property has so much to offer. From it's secluded privacy to it's easy access to the lake, guests soon realize they have the best of both worlds. Relaxing at the gazebo deck reading a book, or boating on the water, Rocky's Run provides that and everything in between. The wildlife is also a feature to note. There are bald eagles, beaver, turtles, deer turkey and varieties of songbirds to entertain guests. The seven acres provides trails and quaint country roads to walk as well. Given this and the comfortable sleeping accommodations, Rocky's run also is located near wineries, the State Park, historical Fredericksburg, Charlottesville and Richmond.

What makes this house unique

Relax, Reflect, and Recharge are the words to express the aura of this secluded, 7 acre retreat that is surrounded with mature hardwood trees, as well as open pasture, nestled on a deep water, open cove.

You'll immediately begin winding down as you enter Stagecoach Road, that was originally used in the 1800's to cross the river. It has been maintained in it's original state, and it initiates your peaceful adventure to experience nature and the lake, at your desire.

'Rocky's Run' will allow you to take a breath, and catch the magnificent sunsets, while listening to songbird's on our feeders, or catch a glimpse of an occasional wild turkey, or deer passing through.

Watch for bald eagles & fall asleep in the lounge chairs as the enchanting sounds of nature intoxicate you. Watch for beaver, ducks, geese, and herons. Find that huge cat-fish that always eludes our lure. Night-time in the screened porch exemplifies the romance of this rental and the lake.

Don't miss this opportunity to experience what so many renter's desire.....a chance to rejuvenate your body and soul.

By the way, full moons rising, sunsets, and stars you've never seen before, are absolutely no charge!

The house and property were exactly as pictured. The rental is lower level of the house and very spacious. Everything looked new and the owners Tom and Pat mentioned the oriental theme bedroom was fully decorated a few weeks earlier. We had a great week on the lake and were able to dock the boat at the private dock on the property. The house was extremely clean and exactly as pictures. We enjoyed fishing, boating, the boat dock and the deck (with fire pit) midway to the lake. The property was well lit at night with upper and lower walk lights. Lights also at the dock and deck. It is a short walk to the lake in a very quiet inlet. Tom and Pat are very friendly owners and made us feel welcome. Tom is also a talented singer/songwriter with his own cd's.

Amazing, Absolutely Loved Every Second

  • 5 of 5

My other half and I came out on a last minute emergency trip. Tom and Pat were very helpful and got us in within a couple hours. I stay in a lot of vacation homes and this is by far the best we have ever stayed in. The property is absolutely gorgeous, the area that you rent is well kept and comfortable. I love fishing and I have to say I fished my butt off. Caught a bunch of catfish, which we cooked Saturday and Sunday. There is a few inexpensive boat rental locations near by, which if you can do it, I would highly recommend. We flew out of Vegas and stayed with Pat and Tom from Sept. 15th to Sept 18th. I loved it so much we are already booked again for Oct. 17th to the 24th. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay with lots of fishing :)

Great fishing and fun with family!

  • 5 of 5

The house was amazing!!! Everything you need and more to have a wonderful relaxing time away. The fishing was great and the lake was beautiful. The bed was super comfy slept the best I have in years! Rocky's Run is so beautiful and it's close enough to things to do and far enough away to feel like you are at a lake house in the mountains! It's a must see to belive.

Great vacation on Lake Anna

  • 4 of 5

Property grounds were beautiful - nicely landscaped with lots of flowers yet with rustic feel. There were many outdoor areas to sit, nap, eat, drink or just enjoy nature either in shade or in sun. Boat house was well equipped with a refrigerator, lounge chairs, kayaks and floats. House was specious and equipped with amenities like TVs, DVD players, board games, books, outdoor games like corn hole. Owners were very responsive to all our questions.

Reason for one less star - House felt dark which could be fixed with brighter, dimmable lighting. House plan was a bit inconvenient - the nice, big great room was farther away from the kitchen and lighting there could be brighter. New linen and towels would be nice. Additional option with extra service charge would be attractive to renters who choose not to make/strip their beds and haul away trash.

On the whole, we had a wonderful time and would recommend the place to our friends.

Beautiful, peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous house tucked right into a quiet corner of Lake Anna. We had two families -- four adults and four children ranging from 6 to 12 years old for a 3 night stay. The house was perfectly setup for us. Our family took two bedrooms off the kitchen/common area and my sister's family took the other two on the other side of the house. The house is spacious, well appointed and has multiple outdoor areas for lounging and relaxing. In fact, it has so much to offer that we couldn't take full advantage of everything in our short 3 day stay. Most of our time was spent on the dock at the boat house. The entire family had a wonderful time jumping off the dock, swimming in the lake, canoeing around and exploring nearby shores. Really great time. Thanks!
