Quiet and peaceful home surrounded by trees and natural scenery.
Hi! I'm Rifka and I live at Sequoia Resort with my grandchildren. If you need anything, just ask! I'm a former teacher and text book author - but now love living here and sharing this beautiful and peaceful property with you.
Rifka Several purchased this house in 2004
We are starting with four vacation homes and an RV Park, and have plans to build more homes in the near future. The new homes will feature solar energy and modern design.
An eco-tent campground is in the works near the lake!
Sequoia Resort is exploring collaborations with nonprofit, educational and youth organizations.
Two onsite contemporary art festivals have included international artists - and more art and performance projects are being planned.
We have even been 'scouted' for television and movie locations!
You will LOVE exploring the two National Parks!
Sequoia Park contains a large part of America's longest mountain range - the Sierra Nevada - including Mt. Whitney at 14,505 ft. And the Sequoias are the world's largest trees - General Sherman is 275 ft. tall.
From the top of Moro Rock (300 stair steps) you see the Great Western Divide.
Boyden Cavern and Crystal Cave offer tours.
Fish, boat and swim at Hume Lake.
And you may see black bears in the Parks ... but not at Sequoia Resort!
It is so nice to come 'home' to Deer Park at the end of your day in the Parks, relax and barbeque on the deck, or fix a meal in the kitchen (easy clean-up with the dishwasher!).
If you have hiked, the master bathroom soaking tub will come in handy!
Borrow a movie from our DVD library or watch the moon rise and stars come out.
Us and another family stayed for a 3 day weekend in January.Wonderful property with lots of walking options.Slept 4 adults and 2 kids comfortably.Nice location for visiting the Nat'l Parks,We all agreed we would like to return in the future.Mahalia and the caretaker took care of everything we needed.Look forward to seeing them again! I would have found it more comfortable if I would have remembered to bring our own pillows. Thank you for a good value Mahalia!!
Thank you so much for your wonderful mountain retreat. I would definitely recommend this mountain retreat to anyone I know.
We had a family reunion and bonding.
Thank you so much
A perfect quiet location, beautiful and spacious house. Everything you need on a short or longer stay, from coffee to laundry detergent. And Rifka was such a nice and welcoming host! I absolutely recommend!
This is a perfect Cottage to spend your vacation. Perfect amenities, helpful recommendations to plan your daily activities, & a comfortable setting to make this the most relaxing vacation spot we've found! The lake is perfect & they have all the boats you need if you'd like to go on a boat ride. It's conveniently located close to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. It's a perfect spot to have a nice retreat, reunion, or family get together! It's pet friendly as well & our dog loved everything about this cabin! I would recommend this place over & over again!
Had a great weekend stay here in April 2013! The weather was gorgeous, and the giant sequoias were easily accessible nearby! The property itself is great - the accommodations are nice and the gas BBQs make it easy to cook out and relax. We also enjoyed some time by the lake, again grilling food and enjoying some bocce ball. Great place for a nature getaway!
Make sure to bring food with though -- local stores have sparse selection!
I hope all my reservations were as fast and effortless as this one. The directions might seem a little menacing, but a good map, or a GPS will get you here very easily. The entrance is really hard to miss. This house can sleep a ton of people. It has 3 bedrooms and a huge living room that comes chock full of futons and bedding that the management provided. I loved the fact that there were tons of towels and even a laundry machine. You could live here for a week before starting on your own towels. This cabin has one of the best verandah's. The caretaker is extremely friendly and went out of his way to leave us to ourselves. We made the trip in summer, and even though it was really hot outside, the house was really comfortable once the A/C was turned on. Lots of books/board games to keep you occupied in the nights. It gets pretty dark at night, so bring a flashlight if you plan on doing anything at night.
Hint: Do NOT miss out on the Lake that is part of this resort. It has a BBQ, a few sports, and swimming and boating and lots of chairs to relax by the lake side. It was one of the most fun things about staying at this resort
Sequoia Resort is open year-round, at 3500 ft. elevation.
