About julie

THANK YOU!! Everyone who worked on the house this year thanks you for your patronage, for a full season of summer rentals---8 years in a row! ***We are continually updating everything, and just completed painting in 2015, so this year will be just as nice! Hope to see you!

julie purchased this house in 2007

Why julie chose Jersey Shore

Upon review, the Ocean Grove Historical Preservation Committee proclaimed this house to be "in the top 100 of the historic homes in the town".

The house is within walking distance of many things to do like--art shows, flea markets, plays, and two movie theaters! Everything is close by, and no car is needed! Many come here to partake in the spiritual programs offered by the Methodist Camp Association. Besides this, there is such a friendly air about Ocean Grove - its quaintness is comparable to none--with its over 1,000 victorian homes. It is great to bike, too---you can go for many miles along the coast either way--we provide the bikes!!

I choose to buy this property because of its beauty, and the fact that it is one of the few houses in the second beach block of Ocean Grove, that has a side or back yard. There is a sense of privacy and quiet here, while you are still so close to the beach, town, and Asbury Park, too. I love the open feeling of the downstairs---the Living room is large, and so is the eat-in kitchen. The kitchen and the bathrooms are beautiful, and i have also decorated the rooms with great care.

What makes this house unique

OCEAN GROVE---voted one of the world's top ten beaches by foder's in 2014! Magnificent! The beach is very wide, and you can always find a spot!

At the house, it is great to have the option of being cool , on the porch in the shade of two large maple trees! On sunny days, it is sometimes better than going to the beach! We recently have had two tiny tress grow on two other sides of the house, allowing for bird chirps to be heard from many locations! Quickly---The side yard is a rarity in this 2nd from the beach OG block. Special things--2 hot water heaters, bikes, filtered water throughout the house, , full spectrum lighting, DVR TV, Wi-fi, garden..

You feel really taken back in time, being surrounded by the beauty of the authentic antiques and lovely wall hangings. Every room, lovely!

The house is only 1.5 blocks from the beach; 1 tiny block from town; 1 block from the grocery store; 4 short blocks to the Great Auditorium, and to central Asbury Park it is less than a 12 minute walk.

Chemical-free vactation home

I stayed at 38 Olin st, with my children and grandchildren for three summers in a row, now. it feels like a home away from home!

This past summer, my immune deficiency disorder was particularly bad and i told Julie about it.

She immediately agreed to use only vinegar and baking soda for cleaning,

along with chlorine free bleach, as i requested. She then went on to move anything that i might not like to the basement. Over the years, she always has used mostly naturally-derived cleaning agents, and the house has always been

sparkling clean and sanitary. I especially like that i do not have to buy bottled water when staying at the house, as the kitchen's double water filters,

are very powerful in purifying the local water.

There are so many nice features at this house, it is hard to know where to begin! It is wonderfully decorated, comfortable, and cool.

It has always been kept up nicely, through the years -

with new things, or painting, as needed. My family loves how close it is to town. For a change of scenery,

it is an easy walk to Asbury Park's boardwalk. Thank you, Julie, i hope to see you next year!

Cozy, comfortable and immaculate.

  • 5 of 5

I really loved staying in this house! The house was immaculate and well decorated yet at the same time cozy and comfortable. The bedrooms were beautifully furnished and all the beds were very comfortable. Having both an upstairs and downstairs bathroom was an added plus.

The kitchen was well-equipped as well as large and airy.

I was also very happy with the location. Very close to the beach as well as town, shops and restaurants.

I found Julie to be very caring and thoughtful and look forward to saying there again.

Delightful, Peaceful, Cozy, Charming !

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 adults & two children fit perfectly in this super clean, beautifully furnished, well appointed, charming vacation home. It is close to everything, the Beach & Main Street Ocean Grove, The Fire Station ( our grandson loved visiting the fire house) and the ice cream parlor! The fenced in patio & yard made it safer for our grandchildren with a wonderful porch for relaxing. I would recommend this home to my family and friends and we plan on staying there again on our next visit to Ocean Grove. Julie the owner was great to work with and welcomed us with a beautiful bouquet of flowers on our arrival. During our stay she was always available and responded to all our needs. The bikes and all the beach gear were a plus ! Thank you Julie for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home!

Excellent location. Beautiful and clean home!

  • 5 of 5

My family rented Julie's beautiful home for my mother's 60th birthday. Everything we had read or had been told was accurate for this listing. No surprises when we walked in except for just how great the rental really was!!

We had 6 adults and two children (ages: 62, 61, 35, 34, 30, 42, 6 and 4). The house is literally 3 minutes to the beach, with beach access on the boardwalk one block south. There are four bedrooms: 2 decent size queen rooms, one small double room and one adorable small twin bed room. What was also quite nice was the queen-sized pull out couch in the living room which was extremely comfortable.

The whole house is clean, bright and airy. The kitchen is new, clean and big. It enabled us to cook and sit for 8. We used the porches and side courtyard for all meals though as there was plenty of space and seating and so lovely. The outdoor, hot shower is key from a long day after the beach. Town is literally 30 seconds away if you want to hit up Main Street coffee shops in the morning.

Beach cart, chairs, umbrellas and 6 beach passes were provided which really saves you a lot of money. The upkeep on the house is undeniable. So very clean, beautifully decorated, tons of special touches and attention to detail. Even the basement was shockingly nice! Small actual living space in the downstairs living room, but it doesn't matter because you'll either be at the beach or on the front porch, the side porch or in the courtyard at one of the two outdoor cafe tables...all within your own little white picket-fence surrounded by gorgeous plants and flowers.

My family absolutely loved the house. Julie was available for all our needs while there, just one email away.

Two nice sized bathrooms, upstairs had a tub which was helpful for kid baths. Wifi access was easy and worked well.

Hand soaps were provided everywhere. Kitchen was stocked with kitchen rugs, every pot and pan, utensils, bowls needed and fridge was big and clean.

The grill was a decent size and worked well.

Definitely a HUGE win for you if you choose to stay here. We're already talking 2015! Thanks, Julie! Amazing memories made here!

Charming Victorian home on a quiet block.

  • 4 of 5

The owners have furnished and maintained this home beautifully. Very clean and organized with all appliances and amenities working properly!

We were 6 people, and we had plenty of space. Spent many hours on the front porch, especially evenings.

Julie, an owner, was wonderful to work with and prompt with answering questions.

The beach is walking distance, as well as restaurants, ice cream, coffee, pizza and much more.

We would love to stay another week this summer, but Montauk, NY (east end of Long Island) is calling us. We love the shores of NJ and Long Island !!

Lovely Victorian in charming seaside town

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful 120 year old home. It may have been old but it has been perfectly maintained, with lots of modern amenities. Sitting on the porch or in the garden, we cooled off even after the hottest days on the beach and we took advantage of the back patio for a cookout. The kitchen is fully equipped, so we enjoyed family meals together and the living room is very comfortable for watching TV, reading or just lounging. The beach in this quaint town rivals beaches on the more popular South Jersey shore towns and Ocean Grove has them beat as far as its history goes. The historical society offers weekly walking tours which are well worth the time away from the seaside as the town has a fascinating history as an old camp-meeting. The Tabernacle is still there, in constant use, and 114 of the original tents are still occupied, with a 16-20 year waiting list of hopeful renters. The guide will usually be able to take you inside one of the tents for a fascinating look at what it may have been like in 1869 for the Methodist congregation who founded the town.

The owner was very gracious and extremely responsive, answering all our questions in a timely fashion. She was very accommodating a professional throughout the process, and we had no trouble getting in touch with her even during our stay. I would recommend this beautiful home and interesting town very highly.

VICTORIAN HOUSE ---is a 3 mt. walk to the beach; 2 mts, to town; 5 mts to the GREAT AUDITORIUM; and only 10 mt walk to ASBURY PARK. OCEAN GROVE--only in recent years has come back to its full glory.

CLOSE WALKING area--has classical concerts--with well known names from NYC or abroad;pop concerts in 3,000 seat auditorium; & free concerts on the street.
