This 2 bedroom cabin is very neat and clean and is updated nicely with quality beds, furniture and appliances. It is located on the pristine Crooked Lake Chain (Crooked, Hank and Portage Lakes) which has great water clarity and awesome fishing. Comes with an outside gas grill and 1/2 of a dock side for your boat. There is ample parking for your boat trailer and your vehicle.
This cabin is located at the end of the road for ultimate privacy and the up north feel your looking for. If your a golfer Ruttgers just up the road has 2 courses to choose from. If you're a fisherman or just here for the recreation this lake is very good and there are many other lakes to choose from.
The perfect setting for either a peaceful retreat or a month full of fun activities! Treat yourself to a beautiful and relaxing up-north vacation... you will be glad you did!
This cabin is very close to Heartland Hockey Camp. Also the new 22 miles of mountain bike trails in the cuyuna rec area.
My son attended the Heartland Hockey Camp while I popped in and out as a spectator. This house location is ~10 minutes from the camp, but is set far enough back from the main road that you would think you were in the land of trees and lakes with just a few neighbors.
The house is very quaint and provides all the necessary facilities. Not lavish, but is very clean and a terrific place to kick off the shoes and relax.
Owners were the nicest people you can meet. They go above and beyond any other VRBO owner experience I have had in my many years of renting.
If you are planning on being in the area and weighing out your options (and price is a concern), this rental should be at the top of your list.
We stayed here while our son attended Heartland Hockey Camp because it was just a short 10 min. drive to the camp.
The cabin was much more than we had expected! So clean and cozy and the owners had everything in the house that anyone would need for a great stay including a fully equipped kitchen. I enjoyed sitting in the back watching the deer and listening to the loons. In the morning, I sat on the dock to watch beautiful sunrises. The dead end road was perfect for riding our bikes. There were mountain bike trails nearby and we also enjoyed renting a kayak to use on the a nearby lake. Plenty of shopping too...
We were greeted the first night by the owners, Ken and Sandy, who offered us a very scenic, charming ride around their lake on their pontoon. I have never met such sweeter people!
I will stay there every year now!
Had the pleasure of staying at this awesome cabin, with my husband and friends while our son was at Heartland Hockey Camp. Lovely, clean cabin, immaculate yard right by the lake. Enjoyed cruises on the pontoon boat with hosts Ken and Sandy. Even golfed in a golf tournament at Ruttgers at Ken's invitation. Couldn't have asked for more. Will be back! Thanks Ken and Sandy, for a great stay!
Stayed with ken and sandy for two weeks while our son was at heartland hockey camp. He has been going for 6 years. Just packing to head back up for our second visit with our hosts. The only regret we have is we didn't find them sooner.
We had a wonderful experience with Vern, Sandy and Ken. They each went out of their way to be helpful - sending us in the right direction to find everything we needed. The cabin met our expectations and is well cared for and very clean. Were pleasantly surprised by how many good restaurants were nearby when eating out, and how well equipped the cabin was when cooking in. The location, at the end of a rolling access road, on a peaceful, clean lake is superb.
The wife and i had a great time fishing and everything outside of small bedrooms is so right in this add. The place is so nice you don't want to put your bags down and yet it is fully furnished and Ken is so accommodating and a vet. We had a great time watching deer in back yard, turtles laying eggs in front yard and a loon sitting on her nest from the yard or dock. We will be back next year soon as we know our open dates. Thanks for a great time.
This property is very close to Heartland hockey camp. Also 22 miles of mountain bike trails. These trail IMBA approved trails.
