The apartment is located on the top floor of a restored house on the upper edge of Alfama in the historic center of Lisbon. The spectacular view and the characteristic atmosphere of neighborhood are fascinating.

You have an view of what is happening in the streets, but also find absolute silence, if you desire. It's located on the third floor of the house and is supported by a traditional diagonal staircase, which in a straight line from the entrance to the house. The bottom two floors of the house are still in the period before the great earthquake of 1755 and was not destroyed by this. The upper two floors were built in the 19th Century. The flat is very centrally located and has all day sunshine (except, when it is cloudy ...)

Further Details: The apartment has a very central location in a historic building in the heart of the old city of Lisbon. It is well developed and is on the tram line No 28. The Monastery of Sao Vicente, the Castle Hill and the streets of Alfama are a few minutes away. Go on city tours of this place of rest and enjoy the panoramic view from every window. Or stay in the apartment and enjoy the special atmosphere and the high, bright rooms.

We may pick all the oranges of the tree of our neighbour, that are within our range. The tree is in the back yard of the house and we have a special instrument to pick them :-)

  • The apartment has 2 bedrooms, each one with a double-bed. In a third, inner room with cupboard and sidebord, which serves as wardrobe-room, there's a small bad that can serve for a child/teenager.

Notes:
The apartment has a very specific layout, a tour of all the rooms. The two rooms have a double bed and have access to the porch, where the two bell towers of the monastery 'São Vicente' through the branches of the trees are visible. The large kitchen is fully equipped and, if necessary, use of the washing machine and laundry dryer available. Beside of it there's a living room with Sofas and a separated dining room, the two of them offering a lovely view of the castle hill. The apartment has 2 mobile electric heaters which can be put in any room if desired. We have our own WLAN.

Fabulous stay

We had such a wonderful time. The layout is quirky but it added to the experience. The view was great and the place was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. The lady that helped us went above the call of duty. Thanks!

Really enjoyed our stay!

We found this apartment to be in an excellent location with a great view of the city. It was in easy walking distance to several sites and a block from Tram #28. There was a nearby grocery store and bakery.

The apartment is in an older building, as it's in an older part of Lisbon, but that adds to it's character and charm. The apartment was clean and well maintained. Bring your own soap and shampoo. The stairs provided a workout when carrying a suitcase, but not a concern for us.

Paula was very helpful with providing local information and arranging a 2am taxi to the airport for us.

We would stay here again without hesitation.

LISSABON - gerne wieder!

Vielen Dank an Herrn Berwert für die vorab Infos und Hinweise per Mail, hätten uns aber für die Zeit vor Ort ein paar aktuelle Tipps zu Resto´s etc. gewünscht. Die Container für Restmüll gibt´s leider nicht mehr.

Haben in der Lago Graca ein tolles und preiswertes Lokal entdeckt ("Jardim da Graca", hat leckeren Vinho verde) und die Erfahrung gemacht, daß die Tram 12, im Gegensatz zur 28, selten voll ist. Die Aussichtsplattform auf dem Tore Vasco da Gama auf dem Expo-Gelände ist, entgegen aller Reiseführer, seit 2004 geschlossen, dagegen sollte man das Oceanario auf keinen Fall verpassen.

Empfehlenswert die CARRIS-Card für 24 Stunden a´ € 6,50, gilt für Metro, Tram, Bus und alle Aufzüge - kann man je nach Bedarf wieder aufladen.

Die Tipps vom Vermieter bzgl. des Taxis vom Flughafen zur Wohnung waren sehr hilfreich (man muß allerdings zur Wartereihe der Taxis) . Vielen, vielen Dank auch an Paula, die uns den Weg zu einem Internetcafe beschrieben hat (mußten unsere Bordkarten noch ausdrucken) und uns für die Abreise ein Taxi bestellt hat.

Es war ein toller Städteurlaub in einer wunderschönen Wohnung , Herr Berwert wir werden gern wiederkommen.

Sehr empfehlenswert

Ideale Lage, traumhafte Ausblicke aus fast allen Fenstern, Balkone in 2 Himmelsrichtungen. Gute Wohnungsaufteilung; ideal für 4 Personen, liebevoll eingerichtet mit antiken Möbeln, passenden echten Holzdielen, echtem Tafelsilber und Orangenbaum vor dem Küchenbalkon. In der Küche fehlte eigentlich nichts, (gutes Topfset). Besondere Pluspunkte: KEINE Mikrowelle (man muß also richtig kochen) und KEIN Fernseher. Saubere, gepflegte, antike Wohnung. (Das Haus ist 150 Jahre alt).

Einkaufsmöglichkeiten ab 100 Meter Entfernung von kleinen Läden bis Supermarkt; die nächste kleine Bar 10 Meter von der Haustür (kein Lärm!). Wichtige Sehenswürdigkeiten dieses Stadtteils Alfama wie die Burg, Kirchen oder Aussichtspunkte nur 10 Min, Straßenbahnen 2 Min, Metro 15 Min Fußweg entfernt. Freundliche, dreisprachige "Schlüssel"-Dame.

Nachteile: enge, steile Treppe in den 3. Stock; "Wohnzimmer" etwas klein für 4 Erwachsene.

Absolut Spitze!

Eine sehr schöne Wohnung mit einem ungewöhnlichen Schnitt, die von Tag zu Tag mehr Spaß macht. Unterschiedliche Aussichtspunkte überraschen beim "Rundgang". Sehr nahe gelegen ein wunderschöner Panoramaplatz mit Barbetrieb, für den Absacker nach der "touristischen Tagesarbeit".
