This unique 1920's cottage sits on the bluff that overlooks the Mississippi River. It is located 1/2 mile outside the historic town of Natchez. It is very private. Your only neighbors are the owners who will probably invite you over for a view from their porch, refreshments, and tell you some of the things you can do while on your trip. The cottage is a short 10 minute drive to town past several picture perfect cemeteries.
I have been renting with VRBO/Home away for over 20 years. This is by far the best treasure I have found yet! The cottage is perfect for a girl get away/romantic getaway or just a place to unwind. The hostess and host are great people! Very accomodating! Their dogs Chole and Annie are wonderful. If you want a little canine company, Chole loves to play. If your not a dog person....no problem, Chole and Annie will not bother you. Little touches like the snacks, breakfast foods, small sodas, water, and coffee make it super easy to walk right in and feel at home. The views CAN NOT be beat! If you have an opportunity to visit Natchez don't miss it! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. This town is super rich in history if your inclined to check it out. I could go on and on about how wonderful this place is, but instead I will just encourage you to check it out. I believe you will be most pleasantly surprised!
What a treasure! This place was delightful! We were only able to stay for a couple of days but we both decided that if we could stay for a couple of months, we definitely would have. We felt like we could become writers while sitting on the "oh so peaceful" patio with the Mississippi river and all the tugs floating by. We wanted to see Natchez, but honestly we had a hard time dragging ourselves away from this charming cottage to go in town. Carol has put so much attention into getting everything just right. We found the kitchen amply stocked with most everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and it was so easy for the two of us to sit in the living room over wine and just visit and catch up on our friendship. Don't miss lunch/dinner at Cotton Alley in town and make sure to see what deserts they have and pre-order so you don't miss out!! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Well done Carol!
My husband and I were lucky enough to find this gem. It is perfectly appointed, completely private and is everything I could have asked for and more. The property has an amazing view of the mighty Mississippi from the porch where you will likely have your morning coffee. If you venture out at sunset rest assured Ms. Carol has insect spray in the kitchen so you won't be bothered by the mosquitoes. The owners have literally thought of everything. There were binoculars for bird watching, suggestions for restaurants, a variety of breakfast and snack items and so much more. The sun porch is perfect for a good book or a nap. I took advantage of the claw foot tub after sight seeing and hubby enjoyed not missing the football game on the TV. Thank you so much Ms. Carol for sharing your slice of heaven with us for our anniversary!!
Came with some friends. The owners are so nice and do everything to make your stay comfortable. The cottage is so adorable and has anything you need. The beds were very confortable and the old fashion tub great to soak in. The view of the river seating on the porch was so peaceful and the sunsets beautiful WE WILL BE BACK!! Loved every minute of our stay.
We stayed two nights in this charming little cottage during our girls trip to Natchez. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival to find such a cute, well decorated and well stocked cottage. The owners have gone to great lengths to make sure their guests are comfortable and need for nothing. We enjoyed fresh flowers in all the rooms, a well stocked kitchen with breakfast foods, fresh blueberry muffins, soft drinks, juices and snacks of all sorts. The beds were comfy and had such nice linens. There is a washer and dryer there for the guests use which is also very handy. The deck off the back was roomy with wicker furniture and an outdoor table with chairs. The view off the deck was a wonderful view of the Mighty Mississippi River. We were able to sit and enjoy the lights from across the river, a view of the Mississippi River bridge and watch the tug boats and barges move up and down the river. This is the perfect place for a girls weekend or a romantic couples getaway. We hope to be back soon!
Just as advertised. Lovely escape before the Christmas chaos. Loved playing frisbee with Chloe. The extra touches like fresh baked blueberry bread and breakfast in the frig were so nice.
