Exactly as described. Spotless, safe and relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

The owner of the condo was so easy to deal with and so nice. Answered every email and question we had prior to leaving for our holiday. Her place is so clean and well kept you feel as if it is your own. We had everything we needed to enjoy a perfect 10 days. The ocean waves will lull you to sleep from the large patio doors both in the living room and master bedroom. I suggest renting a car as we did since you will want to get groceries and sight see and the bus does not run out as far as you are. Peaceful, calm and relaxing vacation. We loved the beautiful beach right out front and enjoyed snorkelling and shell collecting. You will be very happy with your accomodations if you book this condo just as we were. Hope to be back! Many thanks.

p.s. the sunsets are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen- right from your balcony.

Quiet location and perfect ocean view

  • 4 of 5

The property is exactly as the pictures look perhaps even better! We slept with the sliding glass door open in the master bedroom the entire time, with an exception of one night during a storm. The place is spacious and the layout was great for our family.

Meals could be prepared in the kitchen and others could be in the living space close by for easy communication. With the two balconies facing the ocean it made for a great place to relax. The rooms are sizable and met the needs of my self and 3 children, two who are adult children.

The beach front is down the stairs and a 30 second walk away. It is beautiful at high tide or low and it was a quiet beach. We would often be alone for hours and only a few others would join us. It is a good beach for families with young ones because it is shallow for quite a ways out, yet you still feel like you are exploring.

Liz has everything needed in the condo to feel like it is home; a grill, blender for smoothies, puzzles, books...we lacked for nothing. She also had everything needed for a long day at the beach which we did often. It was great fun to pack the cooler, grab the umbrella, chairs and beach towels for a day of snorkeling on the east end at Paradise Cove (2 visits). It was a GREAT place for snorkeling. We saw sea turtles within 10 minutes in the water and one let us follow for 25 minutes. We also had the joy of seeing sting rays, barracudas, baby squid, shark, brittle star fish, plenty of coral and other fish.

We spent and afternoon at Gold Rock in Lucaya National Park during low tide and it was like having our own private beach. While it looked like a beach out of a postcard there was not much to see for snorkeling, during our experience. We did discover that it was perfect for sand dollar hunting and made an afternoon diving for them.

The neighbors are friendly and we were always greeted and made to feel welcome. I recommend renting a car if you want to go off the property as cabs are pricey and you are not walking distance to anything but the beach.

The only concern we had, was Liz mistaken on our check-in date. After a phone call to her she apologized profusely for the mistake and we were able to get access. Check-out was a bit off too but it was figured out. If those two incidents had not occurred it would have been a 5 star rating with out a doubt and would stay here again!

Absolutely Stunning - We'll be back!!!

  • 5 of 5

I have to say, my wife and I were very impressed with Port of Call Villas and the owner Beth. We spent 2 weeks in paradise and already cant wait to go back. The unit is clean and has all the amenities you could need.Oh yeah, the practically deserted private beach is a pretty nice selling point. We had a minor issue with our AC the first week we were their. We contacted Beth (the owner) via email and she responded right away and got the issue resolved! Great service, especially since she was a few thousand miles away :) If you stay here, there is a card for Antionette (taxi driver). Best rates on the island, tell her Jason sent you!

Anyway, i would definitely recommend people stay here. Have already sent the link to a few family and friends. You wont regret it!

Relaxation at its finest!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Port of Call Villas in Freeport. First of all, the owner, Beth, was very kind, accomodating, and easy to communicate with. She even purchased an umbrella for us upon our request and left it in the closet. The unit is lovely and extremely spacious with a beautiful view. We felt very safe on the property as well. There were a few things that were not perfect, as the unit is in need of some tender loving care. There was a bit of an ant problem in the kitchen which simply meant all food had to be stored in the refrigerator. We also had a few plumbing issues, but nothing that detracted from our overall enjoyment of our vacation. It is very quite and relaxing at Port of Call Villas. We slept with the doors open in the master bedroom every night listening to the ocean....fabulous! We enjoyed coffee and breakfast every morning out on the balcony. It is also very convenient to grocery stores.

The beach just outside and to the right is probably one of the best on the island at low tide. It is absolutely beautiful! I also recommend Barbary Beach and Gold Rock Beach. Definitely worth renting a car and packing a cooler to enjoy those beaches! Note that on Barbary Beach you may be the only ones there! All of the beaches are best at low tide. Also, the snorkeling at Deadman's Reef is amazing, but make sure you go at high tide. Definitely worth the drive!

We really enjoyed our vacation and our stay at Port of Call Villas. Thank you to Beth for sharing your slice of heaven with us. Hope we can go back sometime soon!

Fabulous property, delightful owner!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed for a week at this property on Grand Bahama and could not have been more thrilled and highly recommend it for families.

The two-storey condo/townhouse is exactly as advertised and shown. It was clean, well-appointed, right on a lovely beach, and an easy drive from the airport. It's on the very south shore of the island about a 15 minute drive from the airport, and the grounds are secure, quiet, and well-maintained.

The condo/townhouse itself has high ceilings, a stunning view over the Caribbean, 2-1/2 baths and an enormous master bedroom. It comes equipped and described ... TV/cable and relatively speedy WiFI Internet connection. Everything was clean and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking and preparing your meals.

The balconies are sunny by noon and the sea breeze flows through the property. Our two boys (15 and 11 at the time) felt perfectly safe on the grounds and adjoining beaches. As a family, we'd recommend renting a car at the airport (we recommend Brads) because this will allow you to get to places on the island as tourists yet come home easily each night to relax. The condo comes with a parking space right out in front.

We recommend Butlers and the Solomans on the way to the Lucayan resort area for groceries.

And for sightseeing with the family? Paradise Cove at high tide is worth the drive (and has pretty good hamburgers) up the west side for snorkelling. And there are few finer beaches *ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD* than Gold Rock, in Lucayan National Park, about 25 miles east of Freeport. White/pink sand, 50-75 years wide (at low tide!), sandy shallow bottom, four miles long, and never more than 5 other people on the beach with us. $5 per person over 12 years of age and worth every penny.

For a very good restaurant we can recommend Sabor, at the Pelican Bay Resort, and for some of the finest dining (we're foodies, and consider this one in our top three) we highly highly recommend Flying Fish (expect $50+/person here), right beside Pelican Bay.

The condo/townhouse owner (Beth) is fantastic to deal with and answered all of our questions quickly by email and was very friendly on the phone. Her place is amazing and we highly, highly recommend her property as a place to vacation on Grand Bahama ... we'll certainly be returning!

Superb property. Recommended. 10/10.
