About Philippe

Welcome to Paris !

I'm 51-year old and I've been living in Paris for the past 25 years, after starting my career in England and then moving into Asia.

My family has been living in the 16th 'arrondissement (Trocadéro, Victor Hugo, Passy) since 1987. We enjoy this area because there is a lot of space and quietness with many large avenues compounded with trees and gardens. Look at Google Earth ! There is no other part of Paris like our area. Also, though it seems to be a bit far from the historical center, you can actually get to any point of interest very easily with the metro, the bus..or by foot ! And, at night, after a day of sightseeing or working, you will enjoy going back to this quiet and 'chic' district... Believe me...

We enjoy living in this distinctive townhouse made of red bricks : it looks like the typical manor you can find near Deauville... Plus, the entrance via the garden is very pleasant.

Definitively, the apartment opens on a wonderful garden, totally quiet and refreshing during hot months. But, when you get out of the property, you are at the heart of the best located part of the 16th district, between luxury residential areas and lively shopping streets, like rue de Passy, avenue Victor Hugo etc.

And the Eiffel tower stands in front of you, at a 3' minute walk from you apartment: why not going out to admire it glittering at night, just before a good sleep ?

An oasis in Paris 16ème...

A sublime setting, tranquil, quiet and well appointed with everything needed and more including Nespresso machine, washer/dryer, fan and even a printer we used for museum tickets. Philippe was always very responsive and a gracious host. There is a table for dining outside in the lush garden where we ate every night, very pleasant and quiet. Everything is out the front door - marche, bakery, cafes, verdant Avenue Victor Hugo, and Trocadero a few blocks away. We also enjoy the Bois du Boulogne for running.

Our stay was such pleasure. The market, a great bakery, and major train stations were all within a short walk from the apartment. The apartment itself was gorgeous. We couldn't have asked for more!

Wonderful apartment - charming garden

We stayed here with our two kids, ages 7 and 10. It was truly a wonderful stay. I spent several hours in the garden reading a book. It is so nice to be able to find a quiet place like that to relax & have a tea after being outside all day visiting the various museums and just touring and walking around Paris. The garden and the apartment are very quiet. The apartment is very nicely done, well appointed, well located, and it was perfect for our family of 4. The location is great - you can walk to the Arc de Triomphe in one direction, the Eiffel Tower in the other.

Philippe is also a great host, very easy to work, well organized, and knowledgeable about the area (he lives upstairs in the same building). I highly recommend this for a good family vacation and a very nice stay in Paris. Merci!

I have stayed in many wonderful locations through homeaway. This apartment, however, stands out as simply the best... ever! The apartment is spacious, comfortable, and perfectly appointed. The location can't be beat while, at the same time, it is quiet and restful. But the best part of the entire experience is the apartment's owner. Philippe truly cares about the comfort of his guests. And he provides a wonderful booklet describing restaurants, stores, markets and everything in between -- an excellent insider's travel guide to the neighborhood that made me feel at home within a half day of landing. My only concern is that so many people will book this apartment that I won't get to return to it the next time I travel to Paris. But a wonderful owner, great apartment, and great location need to be recognized for what they are....MAGNIFIQUE!

Stayed in this amazing tucked away apartment before and loved the intimate neighborhood with wonderful local shops, markets, and boutique shopping only minutes away. Even after five years since our last stay, the place was in wonderful shape, and we had our two boys this time around. Place du Trocadéro is only minutes away, but you still get the wonderful feel of daily Parisian life in this neighborhood. Looking forward to staying here for years to come!
