Guestbook comments from the manager

I just wanted to send you a message and let you know that we really enjoyed the cabin. It was exactly what I was looking for, quiet with all the character one could hope. The attention to detail was magnificent and we really enjoyed looking through the photos. (Hope you don't mind). The places and the culture you all have experienced really shines through on this property, I could only hope to be as fortunate and we thank you for this small piece. I will most certainly return in the near future with hopes of snow. I was in your studio cabin on 8/19 - 8/21 with my fiancee and the animals were wonderful neighbors. Thank you again.

Great stay!

The Studio was everything we expected! Comfortable, unique, and a lovely, quiet location--easy distance from Asheville.

We were cooking during our weekend at the Studio, and found everything we needed in the kitchen (minus a pot, which we brought with us). Tiny TV with a VHS player. We brought videos!

Taken around the world.

As you enter this wonderful property there are two beautiful lakes with views of a mirror like images of the sky. As you wind around these gorgeous grounds up to your cabin nestled in its on space, you know you're home. The attention to detail that this cabin displayed without taking away any of the mountain like feel was astounding. We indulged in the photography and before you know it, we were whisked off to another place. A lot of the travels and the culture brought my fiancee close to home with this cabin. We were greeted by the dog at breakfast and again in the evening, I guess he just wanted to make sure everything was going well. It rained while we were there and between the sky lights and the windows.... (A sleepers paradise). All of the grounds and cabin were very well maintained. If your looking for a very peaceful mountain getaway, this quaint little cabin will not disappoint. Maybe next time we'll see some of you there... While there please visit the town of Black Mountain, it's just a short drive and the locals will make you feel like you're at grandmother's house. I highly recommend trying the fried cheesecake at Las Conzuelas, it's worth breaking your diet. I'm just counting the days until my return. Germaine Bullard, Saenglavi Thavone

The Studio is nestled in a grove where the historic Black Mountain College once thrived during the '40s and '50s as one of the most important educational and artistic experiments. Buckminster Fuller built the first geodesic dome here on the property and Albert Einstein taught here.

*Mt. Mitchell, the highest point east of the Rockies, stands tall in the distance, mountain lakes and streams welcome you, and the beauty and spirit of this place is truly relaxing and magical. While you enjoy a feeling of being far away you have the luxury of being close to so many great experiences... Black Mountain (5 minutes), Asheville (20 min), Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Estate, Cherokee, and outdoor adventures abound (hikes, rafting, mountain biking, climbing, picnics, etc).
