Our family's two bedroom ocean/beach front apartment at Coral Beach near Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island directly overlooks the ocean. Tucked in a quiet oceanfront corner on the 3rd floor, it's much brighter than the standard interior units at Coral Beach and has 2 full bedrooms with newly renovated bathroom-- it's like scoring that hotel room double upgrade at no extra charge!
Offering great cross breezes (we are an end unit and very private), the sunny living room looks out to the ocean. The apartment is furnished with a queen bed and dresser in each bedroom, living room with sofa and 2 chairs, dining room table and chairs, a flat panel HDTV and stereo, ceiling fans in living room and bedrooms, breakfast bar, and a balcony off the living room. Outside on the balcony (or from the living room), you can sit and enjoy the ocean view.
The master bedroom looks out towards tropical gardens, has a queen size bed and glass sliders for cool night breezes.
The apartment has a full bathroom with shower, plus a second dressing room area with a sink and large closet - all renovated in November 2015.
The open kitchen is fully equipped and remodeled with newer appliances featuring a breakfast bar and stools. It opens to the living area. The dining area of the living room seats six.
Our condo overlooks the beach and breathtaking ocean and is just steps away from the oceanfront pool and bar and grill restaurant (bar closed after Hurricane Matthew - inquire about current status).
Swim in the clear blue waters, or snorkel at the offshore reef. Or just relax and laze away on the white sand beach under one of the shady tiki huts or palm trees on our beach.

The Coral Beach condo was built in the 1970s, so although our apartment has been completely renovated between 2006 and 2015, don't expect the building lobbies to look like a new Ritz-Carlton. But Coral Beach is a well-maintained treasure on a great beach at a very reasonable price.
Our family really enjoys our 'home away from home' at Coral Beach and we think you will too!

About Mark Bobotek
Our family bought the condo in 2006. It had the original pink shag carpeting and bad pink wallpaper. Don't worry -- we have renovated and redecorated it (including most recently the bathroom area which was totally renovated in the fall of 2015), and the pink is gone. Life is too short not to enjoy it as we go along! We want you to enjoy Coral Beach as much as we do!

We love our condo, but there is so much to do outdoors that we don't spend much time in it! Personally, I also enjoy waking up to the sound of the waves most mornings, walking the beach, and riding my cruiser bike around the island.

Perfect spot for an easy vacay!
This is our second year in a row staying in this unit -- and it won't be our last! It's clean, easy, and has everything you need, including plenty of beach towels. It's so nice to be able to hear and see the ocean from the unit, and there is always a good cross breeze to keep you cool. It's great to have wifi and cable in the unit, and there are also DVDs if you are sick of Law & Order reruns and want to watch a movie at night. You'll find books in the unit and a lending library downstairs, just in case you finish all the beach reads you packed. Mark is a great host and is very responsive to questions you may have; he really wants you to enjoy your stay. We can't wait to go back!!
We've stayed on Coral Beach for about 6 years running, now. Really enjoyed this condo and the pool and beach. Hurricane Matthew took out the elevators (!) and the pool-bar/restaurant (!) which is why we gave this property four stars instead of five.
We'll be back next year, I'm sure, and will probably stay in this same unit. Owner was very responsive and easy to get along with.
I can't control hurricanes! But I'm happy to report the pool bar and restaurant is back in operation and the elevators are scheduled for overhaul. We never use the elevator when we are there anyway, but any guest with disabilities will need to use it to get to our third floor apartment (second floor the way Europeans count floors.)
Laid back living <3
We've been coming to Coral Beach for the last six years, renting different units each time. Hands-down, this is our favorite by unit by far, and we will definitely be back. I would give it five stars, but we had spotty internet and cable all week and the elevator was out, but that is just island life, and I certainly don't go on vacation for the cable and internet! Besides, there are plenty of movies, books and games to choose from if you need anything besides the sound of the ocean and the amazing sunrises.
The unit is clean and nicely furnished, and the beds are comfortable -- which is a rare occurrence in my experience at Coral Beach. There is a tremendous cross breeze and ceiling fans, so we never needed to run the AC. The appliances may not be new, but they are all quite functional; the shower was great and there are plenty of nice quality beach towels, another rare occurrence in my experience.
They are still working on repairs to the building from the October 2016 hurricane, but nothing that interfered with anything for our stay -- mostly cosmetic, but with that perfect turquoise ocean and white sand, who cares.
Besides, you don't go to Coral Beach if you want luxury. If that is your scene -- go to a resort. If you want a laid back place with a pool, bar and a stunning beach and super nice people, then CB is for you. It's what brings us back year after year -- simple, relaxing and calm. Nothing but a peaceful, easy feeling, as The Eagles would say.

Spring Break in the Bahamas
We loved our stay at Coral Beach Hotel! We have a 4yo and a 7yo and the condo was great for us. We would have preferred two bathrooms, but it was easy to make it work with just the 1 and we did have 2 sinks which was a nice bonus. We had all the kitchen items we needed and the closet is full of bags, snorkel gear, hats and other fun items for use. The beach towels were nice and large. We enjoyed going to sleep with the breezes and sounds of the ocean just out our window and the views were wonderful! We did the kayak trip thru the mangroves and the paradise cove snorkel trip and the Wednesday evening fish fry. We loved it all. Mark, the owner was very helpful with the information and recommendations. He even called once just to check in with us. The other residents of the condo building were very welcoming as well. Rexlax by the ocean
The Coral Beach has lovely grounds and is nicely situated on a gorgeous beach with small palm trees and little hut covers to provide shade if desired. Pool, shuffleboard and lawn bowling available on the well-maintained property. Beach walks are incredible. And there is a convenient poolside restaurant for decent lunches or dinners at a reasonable price --- great burgers. The building is showing its age, but is kept very clean and tidy. The owner of this unit is available by phone and very helpful (free phone service in the unit to US and Canada; free island phone service in the lobby). The unit itself is a bit smaller than we expected; fine for 2 or 3, but would probably be crowded for 4. The LR has 2 comfortable chairs and a loveseat for 2, but no couch. The second bedroom is rather small and has no window. Kitchen is well equipped; even has a neat Panini maker; DR table seats 6. Large sliding window in LR/DR looks out to the ocean, though over a large parking lot. There is a deck on the side of the unit with partial view of the ocean. You can hear the surf as you relax. Excellent flatscreen TV's in LR and BR with good cable coverage; WiFi is pretty good with intermittent outages. The kitchen pantry needed some cleaning and organizing.

We are very close to: Scuba Diving, Catamaran Adventures, Horseback Riding on the Beach, Dolphin Encounters, Deep-Sea Fishing Charters, Golf Courses, Kayak Nature Tours, Hiking and Swimming at Gold Rock Beach in the National Park, Birding, Lots of Secluded and Active Beaches, Fitness Center on Premises. Straw Market, Open Air Cafes and Live Music at Port Lucaya are all walking distance from our apartment.

The "tax" shown is the Coral Beach condo association's 12.5% rental surcharge, plus the Bahamian government tax on that fee. All payment is handled through this website; there are no resort fees or other hidden fees due at check-in, but if you have a rental car you pay a small daily parking fee at the hotel desk for the gated parking lot; it was $3 a day last time we checked.
