About this property

Haliburton, Ontario - Large Executive Chalet, Kennisis Lake

This is a beautifully finished Post & Beam cottage completed in 2007. 4800 sq ft of living space. Covered carport and porch surround the cottage. It is located on Lake Kennisis (12 miles long). It is a deep spring fed fresh water lake with rock and sand beaches. The water is crystal clear with visibility of 80-100 feet. It is located near 'Algonquin Park' - Canada's largest nature reserve and the famous 'Haliburton Forest' - a large private nature reserve that is open to the public for hiking, camping, nature walks, fishing and the famous tree top walk in the summer. Snowshoeing, dog sledding, luge and groomed snowmobile trails in the winter. Just minutes away! There are also some local maintained walking trails right near the cottage as well. What a Wonderful Place!!!
I wanted to say thank you so much for allowing us to use your place to get our family together. You place is so well cared for! You have everything we could have imagined for a family cottage. We loved the sunsets, the sun on the dock all day as well as the shaded deck by the water and cabana with bar fridge. The outdoor firepit with chairs was a wonderful place to spend our evenings. I have never stayed at a nicer cottage. Thank you

About the host

Host profile image
We purchased the land and developed the property ourselves in 1998. The property was completely forested and the road to the property was only compeleted in 1998. We cleared the land for buidling and put in the driveway and dock in the first year. In 2006 we started the construction of the Post and Beam cottage. We have enjoyed the project along with our two children Spencer and Madison. We plan on retiring to the area in the future.

Why they chose this property

This is a beautiful area with lots of activities for both summer and winter. The privacy of the large acerage lots was a real attraction to us. This lake is touted as one of the cleanest lakes in Ontario and is surrounded by large nature reserves.
