"Bruce, Just a quick note to tell you what you already know: Your place is fantastic! The view is outstanding, with awesome sunsets. The wildlife is unreal! (A sloth on your drive, Toucans, bugs)"
The pictures represented on the vrbo site are truly what you get. 4 couples had a fabulous time in this beautiful home. Great pool, we had early morning coffee looking at our gorgeous view and listening to the waves crash below on the beach. Note you can't walk from the house to the beach, it will require a drive but five minutes top. We saw animals galore, even a sloth due to our wonderful caretaker Tom. We loved the privacy of the home - no home has views to another home. If you're an adventure seeker, or just want to lay back - this is the place. Definately need the 4x4 to get to this place but worth the trek.
We had a fabulous time at this beautiful home with great views and outdoor living area. Just outside Dominical, we loved that it was away from it all with abundant wildlife, yet easy to get to Dominical and surrounding areas. We saw a sloth, toucans, capuchin monkeys, a coati, scarlett macaws and more from the home our in the neighborhood. We loved that it was high up and away from bugs and had a breeze. The pool area is great, Tom was wonderful and attended to every question we had. The two floors with bedrooms that were all comparable made for a perfect layout for two families. All in all, this was one of our best vacations and we felt the house was a home run.
This house is beautiful, very comfortable, very tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you will need. The location is to die for. The house is situated very high up on a hill overlooking the water. You do need a 4X4 to get there. The pool area is gorgeous. Our first day there we saw monkeys, tucans, and a sloth in the trees surrounding the house. Visit Osa Mountain during your stay if you can. There is ziplining, a restaurant, a wildlife rescue, and a butterfly sanctuary featuring various species of butterflies from the area. The road up Osa Mountain is very scenic as well.
"Best vacation ever" is how my teenage children and friends described it. The villa is big and also beautiful with more than enough space for two families, so maybe we will invite more family or friends next time. Everyone definitely enjoyed the surfing, snorkeling, zip lines, wildlife, and fishing, but for me it was coming back to the peaceful privacy of the house to relax with the Toucan's and watch the sunset.
We all had a great time and will recommend this rental property to family and friends.
This property was better than the description that was provided by the rental company. There were 7 in our party including an 11 year old boy. There was plenty of space for everyone. The entire property is well maintained ...the views of the jungle and The Pacific are amazing. Gorgeous sunsets every night. I recommend the nearby Hacienda Baru for family activities such as hiking and ziplining. And The Jolly Roger for dining and a view.
We recently returned from a wonderful trip to Dominical. We tried to see and do it all in our short time there (zip lining with MidWorld in Manuel Antonio, canopy tour, day trip to Cano Island, sunset Catamaran trip, snorkeling, dolphin watching. We even learned how to surf at Dominical Beach with Bob from Costa Rica Surf & Dive). When my husband asked me and the kids what our favorite part of the trip was, I had to say for me personally, it was the house. The view was beyond beautiful. I could've spent a month of sunsets enjoying the pool. Every morning, we awoke to the sounds of Toucans and white-faced monkeys playing in the trees around the house. We are avid photographers and got some shots of the wildlife. We even saw a coati race up the papaya tree in broad daylight as we were relaxing in the pool. The papaya tree along with many other fruit trees are situated all around the property. The house was so well equipped, clean and beautiful. We've stayed at homes, condos all over in our travels and none came close to comparing to this one. It is amazing. Our only issues were with the poor Internet service which I understand has since been resolved. Tom, the manager of the property was also wonderful and a great resource. He lives very close to the property so that made it convenient. One note though if you know nothing about Costa Rica (like us), Dominical is very remote. It's close to a lot of fun adventurous activities and there were some wonderful quaint restaurants in Dominical with fantastic food. But if you're hoping to prepare a gourmet meal with groceries bought at the local store, well that is somewhat of a challenge. Quepos (just North) & Uvita (just South) have decent grocery stores. But be prepared to spend a lot of money for anything but beans and rice. There is wonderful produce at fruit stands everywhere along the roads as well as some great fish markets (we did purchase and grill lobster one night-not bad). We found the best restaurants in the very touristy Manuel Antonio. Excellent food there and not too pricey. Overall, wonderful visit. Beautiful house and amazing scenery. You will not be disappointed!!
