Stephanie purchased this Villa in 2006
Why Stephanie chose Costambar
There were a lot of properties on the market but we decided on this one because it had a unique Spanish colonial design and was well built. It is also right on the beach. The backyard was pretty bad so we offered a lower price and then we gutted it and built two new cabanas and a pool. Now the vegetation has grown, it is our little get-away paradise. Every visitor falls in love with it.
What makes this Villa unique
At the price, the house offered such an design opportunity to turn it into a real paradise. It is situated in a residential area and all our neighbours and friends consider Villa Reyna to be the by far the best in the area because we ensure the property is fully functional and well maintained at all times. One of the owners or the manager is always on hand to assist in any way, including unforeseen emergencies.

Villa Reyna is a perfect mix of outdoor and indoor living. We used the outdoor areas about 90% of the time, and absolutely loved it! This space is amazing for a family, or friends to share! The staff were fantastic! We will be visiting Villa Reyna again!
A great week in Dom. Rep.
Villa Reyna is a fantastic place to stay. It is actually much roomier than the pictures. The 2 cabanas and the pool in the back are secluded and a great place to hang out. The beach is literally just steps away. At night when we sat on the front porch we could hear the waves, so relaxing. Housekeeper Stefanie was great. Alexis the property manager was also a big help and was willing to go the extra mile when we did not have hot water, he got the issue resolved quickly. There are a number of great restaurants very close (all of which only take cash). We did not have a bad meal there and the food was so inexpensive we ate out more often than we planned. Thank you Stephen for allowing us to stay at your wonderful place. All 3 couples had a great spring break.
The Anchor is a fantastic place to eat the food was excellent. El Carey has the best fish sandwich I have had, the empanadas were also delicious. Las Rocas steakhouse was worth the walk as was the Pizza place just down the road from it. Happy Hippo had the best Mojitos in town. If you are looking for good cigars, see the owner of El Carey he has the best cigars at the best price. Joaquim is also very helpful, he is the man just across from the Villa who will set up chairs for you. Just a great week and a great place to stay.
Villa Reyna - Paridise...
My wife, our adult daughter, and I stayed at Villa Reyna for 10 days and had an absolutely great time. Stephen was a pleasure to deal with both in the preliminary planning stage as well as the final few days before departure.
Nothing I could say would perfectly describe the property; it was everything they presented it as. The house was very well kept and decorated nicely. The back yard had a very unique feel with the exotic foliage, pool, hot tub, and two cabanas that offer absolute privacy.
The Beach is endless, we enjoyed walks down the beach daily. We are use to natural beaches since giving up the resort scene. This beach is very well kept, Joaquin and Papa work very hard every morning clearing seaweed from the beach. This beach reminded me of a resort beach with the atmosphere of a private beach. I went down to speak to Joaquin about renting chairs for the week, he made me a deal of $40 USD for 3 chairs and two tables for 10 days, perfect. Before I could return to the villa I got pulled into a game of beach Bocce Ball with the locals, they were very friendly and we had many more games over the days to come.
The local restaurants were great, after a couple of days we all had a hunger for a good burger so we went down the beach to El Carey and they did not disappoint. We also went to Sole Mia for pizza which was highly recommended and delicious.
We used Rene at RV Tours for transportation to and from the airport. The vans were nice, clean, and air conditioned. The traffic is stressful to foreigners so having an experienced driver was a huge bonus. We also used Rene for a private tour of Puerto Plata, he provided us with a driver and a tour guide, we had a blast.
All said, we had a great time and would definitely return for another stay at Villa Reyna, there is no other place in Costambar that can compete with this property. The location is right on the beach which nobody else has, this is the only villa “On the Beach”. We have rented many beach houses and this was by far the nicest yet not the most expensive.
Beautiful villa. Wonderful staff. Friendly owners.
The villa is exactly as the pictures show, lovely. We enjoyed proximity to the beach, the pool in the back yard, and the wonderful staff that took care of us. Couldn't have been better.
Very well kept property steps away from the beach.
The owners were great. The staff were great. The place was very well kept and you can tell based on the cleanliness of the place the owners care about the home and the guests having a great experience. If you go on any excursion use Rene and his company. The owner made this suggestion to us and we went on 3 and all were amazing. Great food on the beach... like a 3 minute walk. Market within walking distance. Kids enjoyed the private pool and darts in the cabana, and I enjoyed the mornings on the hammock. The enclosed community lost power one night but we hardly noticed because the generators automatically went on and our evening went on uninterrupted. Our family of 6 had a truly amazing time!!! Thank you!!!
I don’t know why Home Away wants me to comment on my stay in my own property. Of course I had a blast down there.
I'm speechless at this point. All I can say is that I enjoyed my stay in MY OWN PROPERTY!
The Puerto Plata region is one of the most spectacular in the Caribbean. It is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and Immediately above the city is a large forested mountain, very suitable for hiking or you can ride the cable car to the top. The city itself has an old Spanish fortress, an Amber Museum and a Rum Factory all worth a visit. Two spectacular Robert Trent Jones golf courses are within easy reach and of course there is an abundance of water sporting activity. Ocean World, 10 mins away is where you can experience swimming with dolphins and also within the same complex, there is a fine restaurant and casino. Inland you can take tours to hike, bike, white water raft, horseback ride, scooters, etc, etc and take in the spectacular scenery of this beautiful land.
Golf: The new Los Mangos Golf Club is now open and is located within the Costambar community within walking distance of our villa. You can see it on the Google satellite map. (type in 19.814413,-70.719059, this is the clubhouse)
The club offers a 9 hole course, recently renovated and also a brand new spa (as of October 2011)
There is also a world class 18 hole course at Playa Dorada, 20 mins by car from the villa.
