Enjoy the quiet solitude of this 825 square foot guest cottage and professionally designed gardens on private 1 acre waterfront property with easy access to many cultural and recreational opportunities onsite, across the Island, in Seattle and on the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas. Larry Fischer purchased this cottage in 2003
Prior to moving to Bainbridge Island from Billings Montana, my wife and I had vacationed here several years. We were always struck with the beauty of the area so when we had a chance to move here we jumped at it. We weren't disappointed. We have lived here now since 2003 and love every minute of it. It took a long time to find this property since waterfront property is hard to find and with 1 acre and a dock it is even harder.
Every morning Sandy and I spend time looking out our picture window at Fletcher Bay while having coffee and are amazed that we never get tired of watching the water. The kinetic nature of it along with the variety of wildlife that use it is truly remarkable. It is a rare place to live and we are truly thankful of our good fortune to live here.
Wildlife that includes Bald Eagle, many different waterfowl, Blue Heron, Sea Otter, Seal, Osprey, Canadian Geese, a wide variety of song birds, Deer, Racoon, Fox, and the rarely seen but reportedly on the island, single black bear.
Kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing, boating, sailing, birding, and gardening almost year round. There is always something blooming here at any time of the year.
My wife and I just spent 12 lovely days in the cottage. It is private and quiet and yet accessible to all the sites of the island. Larry and his wife could not have been more gracious. Aside from the coziness of the cottage the grounds are spectacular. It was also a positive to have access to the water and the use of a canoe or a kayak for sunset tours of the bay. I would give the cottage 7 stars if I could
We recently spent a week in Larry Fischer's Island Guest Cottage. While there are many beautiful photos shown here they do not do the gardens and home justice. Our vacation there was one of the most enjoyable we have ever had . If you are looking for some peace and quiet away away from the beaten track this cottage and surroundings has it in abundance. Larry and his spouse were perfect hosts. We would highly recommend it to our friends and we hope to get back there ourselves in the near future.

There's a reason we've stayed here 3 times in three years. The cottage is wonderful and very well stocked, the owners are amazing, the scenery and seclusion are awesome. Unless your heart is set on a different specific "theme", you cannot go wrong in staying here while you visit Bainbridge Island. We will be back again...
We had a family vacation, my adult children and my grandchild were in both the Studio and 1 bedroom units. This was amazing we had such a good time. Larry really did think of everything from having booties for the kids and adults to use walking on the shore during low tide, to having kayaks for us all to enjoy. I am now Kayak enthusiasts. The studio and the 1 bedroom was wonderful, relaxing, grilling every night and eating outside on the family size table. Cant say thank you enough. Oh, by the way, like the others we never made it to Seattle, we didn't need to leave the island . Bryce -Austin
My family and I LOVED our staycation in Bainbridge over Spring Break! The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and so well maintained. Larry was so accommodating, flexible, and hospitable. The cottage itself is delightful and did I mention how GORGEOUS the landscape is?! It is also right near the water where you can take in the beauty, roast marshmallows, or take the kayak out. The owners have thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable, cozy, and relaxing. We will definitely be back.
We had every intention of going into Seattle, but never found the will to leave this small piece of paradise. The island is magic and this rental is fabulous, the hosts so gracious, and the overall experience one of peace and rejuvenation. You can see a city anytime, but when can you stop and marvel at complete quiet, or a stillness so deep that you can feel it in your chest? That's this experience. This rental is everything you could want and more - our only sadness is that we didn't have time to kayak or canoe. The studio is spotless, has wifi, and the hosts provide a selection of delicious coffee as well as expert recommendations for food and sights. Thank you, Larry and Sandy, for such a lovely stay.
