This broad minded holiday apartment on approx 55m² size and its large terrace with magnificant sea views is ideal for a beautiful and unforgattable holiday.

It consists of a large lounge/dining/kitchen aera of about 25m². The kitchen is well equipped with gas-/baking stove, combined fridge/freezer, toaster and washing machine.

A bedroom (16m²) with 2 single beds which can adjoined to use as a double bed if required. A bright and friendly bathroom cum shower/toilet.

The penthouse offers two equipped terraces (table, chairs, sunbeds, umbrellla): one of the front and another by the side - both with these beautiful views of the bay!

A little gem in the south of Malta

We stayed at the Penthouse for 8 nights and after making our own way there by bus (21 euros for a 7 day card, avb from airport and strongly recommend) we were greeted by the owner Lawrence. He walked us through the apartment and left us a welcome pack consisting of milk, bread, margarine, cheese, ham and coffee (which was greatly appreciated) and directed us to the nearest shops. (the convenience store, like a spar shop had most of what we needed on our stay at non tourist prices)

The side balcony from the lounge / bedroom is where we sat outside all the time as the opening in the wall allowed us to view the bay. The internet was good within the flat and the TV only really had 2 English speaking news channels but as we were out a lot this didn’t matter.

We had a couple of questions while we were there and Lawrence got back to us quickly, we also saw Lawrence and his family out on several occasions on our evening walk round the bay (with all the locals). I would recommend the Stuffed Olive for great food and service and the ice cream parlour 100 metres away for evening ice creaming while promenading.

The only downside to the apartment was the lack of a shower curtain in the bathroom so we had to mop the floor after each shower and lack of mosquito screens in the rooms, so we had to close the patio doors and have the air con on as we were bitten the 1st few nights. (These were minor things and did not distract our enjoyment of the flat at all).

If you’re looking for a local feel and amazing views and great swimming in St Thomas Bay and Birzebbuga then I strongly recommend the penthouse and we shall be returning in the next year.

Schöne Aussicht auf den Hafen und die Bucht

Das Apartment liegt ruhig und zentral in Marsaskala einem Hafenort mit touristischer Infrastruktur aber auch maltesischem Leben. Von den beiden Terrassen hat man einen sehr schönen Blick auf die Bucht. Die Sonne scheint fast den ganzen Tag auf die große Terrasse. Stühle und ein Tisch inkl. Sonnenschirm stehen zur Verfügung. Die lichtdurchflutete Wohnküche ist gut mit Herd und Kühlschrank ausgerüstet, das Geschirr und Gläser könnten etwas umfangreicher vorhanden sein. Das Schlafzimmer hat einen Ausgang zur zweiten Terrasse (eher ein Balkon), hier scheint im frühen Morgen die Sonne. Das Badezimmer ist funktional eingerichtet. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und immer hilfsbereit. TV und WIFI ist vorhanden, die Geschwindigkeit des WIFI-Netzes könnte schneller sein. Die Wohnung liegt im dritten Stock eines Hauses in unmittelbarer Nähe der Promenade. Morgens kommen die Fischer mit ihrem Fang in der Hafenbucht an, so konnten wir fast jeden Tag ( kam auf das Wetter und den Wellengang an) direkt vom Schiff frischen Fisch kaufen. Zwei Obst- und Gemüsehändler hatten ihren LKW-Stand ebenfalls an der Hafenbucht. Erst Fisch und dann das passende Gemüse dazu kaufen, was will man mehr? Bäcker und kleine Supermärkte sind fußläufig in der Nähe. Zum Strand läuft man ca. 20 Minuten zu Fuß oder 5 Minuten mit dem Bus . Marsaskala hat gute Busverbindungen nach Valletta , den 3 Cities und Marsaxlokk . Von der Bajja ta' San Tumas geht ein schöner Wanderweg Richtung Süden. Wandern in Malta ist ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig, da Wege und Straßen häufig von Pkws benutzt werden. Malta ist nach unserer Erfahrung eine AutofahrerInneninsel. In der Bucht von Marsaskala gab es viele Restaurants, Cafes und Bars, abends kann man gut schlendern. Das Publikum ist u.E. durch maltesische, britische und mittel/nordeuropäische Gäste bestimmt.

Wer eine ruhige Ferienwohnung sucht, aber auch das abendliche Leben sucht ist in diesem Penthouse gut aufgehoben. Wir haben die zwei Wochen genossen, eine Baustelle im Nachbarhaus konnte uns die Ruhe nicht nehmen. Diese Baustelle wird noch ca. 6 Monate bestehen bleiben.

Super schöne Aussicht!

Zentral gelegene Ferienwohnung mitten im Ort mit Blick auf die Bucht. Trotz Trubel am Wochenende war die Wohnung sehr ruhig. Schöne Promenade mit diversen Restaurants und Bars. Wir haben tolle Wanderungen nach Marsaxlok, in die St Thomas B. und zur Smart City bzw. Birgu unternommen. Der April ist für Wanderungen genau die richtige Zeit. Es hat überall geblüht und die Vegetation war bunt und üppig. Außerdem war der Vermieter und seine Frau super nett. Also: auf jeden Fall lohnt es sich hier Urlaub zu machen!

In the holiday season it is buzzing with activity, much loved by locals and visitors alike. Its long U-shaped coastline and beach, its rocky promontories and its multicoloured fishing vessels give it lots of character. This is enhanced by a big variety of modern leisure facilities, restaurants and bars.

The next sandy beach is St.Thomas Bay in 2km distance.
