This lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is located in Colonial Shores in the Iona/McGregor section of Fort Myers. A 24 hour gated community, Colonial Shores is just minutes from Bunche, Sanibel, and Ft. Myers Beach. It is also convenient to the Lee County Sports Complex and shopping at the Tanger Outlet Shoppes.
The house is on a large corner lot that backs to small lake teeming with birds, fish, and other wildlife. There are ceiling fans throughout the house that along with the central A.C. system keep it comfortable and well ventilated. The three bedrooms sleep up to six comfortably; 2 bedrooms have queen beds, the third has two twin beds.
In addition to the large kitchen with electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer, dryer, and upgraded refrigerator, there is a breakfast nook, formal dining room, living room, reading room and family room/den.
A recent addition is a large lanai on the back of the house with plenty of room to spread out and just relax in comfort enjoying the cool sea breezes from the Gulf of Mexico. The lanai contains an outdoor kitchen with a brand new Weber Grill, refrigerator, sink, and two portable electric burners so you can do all your cooking outside on the lanai
If you are not in the mood for the beach, the swimming pool is located at the Colonial Shores Clubhouse.
We've been staying here since 2010, and we were so surprised and impressed with the new lanai when we arrived. The pictures don't do it justice. It was a great improvement to an already great house and place to stay.
We have just returned from a wonderful month-long vacation at this beautiful home in sunny Florida. The house is lovely, well-taken care and equipped with everything you need for your stay. The location could not be better...beaches, restaurants, stores are all close by and the gated-community is quiet and peaceful. The community pool and clubhouse are lovely and most days we were the only ones enjoying the facilities! The owners are great - they make sure that you enjoy your stay and are easy to contact should you need them. We would have been back again next year, but we fell so in love with the area and the weather, we actually purchased our own vacation home while we were there!

House was spacious, clean, well maintained inside & out. Plenty of towels, bedding etc. Kitchen was easy to work in. Computer hook up worked great. Having a washer & dryer--bring less clothes! House and yard were comfortable for dog. Only downside: no lanai or outdoor patio and no outdoor grill. Screen porch is small and basically enclosed by house--totally shaded. We sat in folding lawn chairs in the backyard. Pond offered great photo ops for birds, ducks, otters....great variety and very entertaining.
Location was excellent--fruit/veg stand on corner of John Morris and MacGregor was a frequent stop. Also bought fishing bait there. Wonderful seafood, shrimp, scallops, lobster, crab meat, fish from Seafood truck on MacGregor across from Tanger Mall. Easy to get around to any type of shopping or sightseeing. Publix Grocery across from Tanger Mall on Summerlin.
Proximity to Bunche Beach, Sanibel/Captiva, Ft Myers Beach was excellent. Never an issue. Loved the Sanibel Causeway beaches for sun and relaxation. Dog Beach on southern end of Ft Myers Beach by Lovers Key Park was wonderful and lots of fun watching the dogs. Lover Key Park is beautiful. Bunche Beach is absolutely wonderful...lots of trails for fishing and hiking, kayaking along the Calusa Blueway. Dolphin & manatee sightings when by the water. Even within a few feet of friends fishing boat!
Shelling on Sanibel a definite must! I love shelling!!!

We stayed there in September/October 2010 and were very pleased with the house. The property is clean, well maintained and equipped and even had an electric kettle for our morning tea which is an item not usually provided in holiday homes in the USA. There was a fault with the air conditioning when we arrived and the owner was quick to respond and got it repaired immediately which we appreciated. We know the area well and use "Busters" and "Starz" restaurants which are less than half a mile to walk. The food at Busters is very good and the restaurant is child friendly with various slot machines inside to keep small children occupied. There is a "Publix" a short drive away and a fresh fruit and veg stall less than half a mile from the house. The neighbours in the area are very friendly and love to stop and chat. The islands of Sanibel and Captiva with their lovely beaches are just a short distance to drive. Perhaps the one downside for some may be the lack of its own pool, but there is a nice pool and children's play area within the community which is just a short walk away. We have no hesitation in recommending this house as a holiday home.
A spacious, well-maintained home featuring new appliances, a comfortable master suite with a large walk-in closet and shower area, and a nicely landscaped yard. The house layout provides privacy for guests. A special feature was the snowy egret who visited daily to our back door! The owner is very responsive and the people who let us in and out of the house were friendly and accomodated us for an early departure. The location is great for shopping, beaches and outdoor activities and we enjoyed the clubhouse pool.
We stayed here during February 2010. The experience was wonderful. The home is well appointed wih modern facilities and up to date. It was extremely clean and well maintained, The surrounding area of the home is well landscaped with a beautiful lagoon and plenty of exotic birds to watch. We hope to rent this home again in February 2011.

sufficient.the property was clean and well maintained. Communication with the owner was very good.The proximity to Sanibel,Fort Myers Beach and Bunche Beach were very good,and quick to get to,we are talking minutes here.
We enjoyed the fresh vegetables and fruit at the produce stand only a short walk away.I land fished, so I also bought my bait there.

If you just like kicking back and spending time on the beach, then this location is for you. The Iona/McGregor section of Ft. Myers is convenient to 3 beaches; Bunche Beach which is just two traffic lights away at the end of John Morris Road, the Sanibel Causeway leading to the beaches of Sanibel and Captiva is also two traffic lights away, and Fort Myers Beach is a short 10 minute ride over the bridge.
If you like to shop for bargains, the Tanger Outlet Shoppes with stores like Ralph Lauren, Coach, Haggar, and Mikasa is also nearby.
The main drag through Fort Myers, Route 41, is about 15 minutes away with restaurants, movie theatres, and other entertainment.
Golf: There is a public golf course, Shell Point, located just 5 minutes away.
