Perfect northern getaway
My wife and I really needed to step away from our busy lives, we found the cabin very relaxing, and with a great view and setting on Thayer lake. We enjoyed the hot tub, the mornings coffee at lake level from the hot tub was pretty cool. Thanks to our host for the use of the place, we will be back!
Boat leaked and had to bail out every 10 min.
House was nice But too close to smoking neighbors. Would enjoy if not close to street or neighbors.
Thank you for the review. We are glad that you found the house nice.
Our listing does state that there is a canoe and two kayaks at the cabin free for your use. However, the fishing boat is not listed as something for guest use. The boat, as we know, is in need of repair. If you would have asked us if this was free for you to use we would have let you know that it is not.
As for the neighbor, we are sorry that the smoke bothered you. With the six foot privacy fence between the neighbor's house and ours, we have not noticed that this has been an issue in the past but do feel bad that it was bothersome. However, this is not a direct review of the house. I would like to note that this neighbor is no longer living at that house, as of recently.
We do strive to provide a clean wonderful property where guests would like to visit again.
Again, thank you for your feedback.
Cozy relaxed get away.
Had a great vacation! Beautiful view. Cottage was cozy and family friendly. Didn't want to come back home to reality. Would definitely recommend
Very quiet! Beautiful setting!
Rustic cabin feel-just what we were looking for. Canoeing on the lake was heavenly, so tranquil. Will be back!
A little slice of paradise
Last summer my husband and two boys rented this quaint little cabin for one last summer getaway before the start of the new school year. The pictures do not do it justice, this little cabin is paradise. There were so many activities available for my boys that my husband and I actually had a bit of alone time for once. :) not only were there canoes and kayaks, but also a full fishing set! We couldn't get kids away from the lake... even for dinner. If I am remembering correctly, we had a fire every night we were there! It really gave us all the opportunity to enjoy ourselves before a hectic school year. We will be back this summer, hopefully more than once!
My boyfriend and I came up-north for my birthday weekend. Being from the city of Grand Rapids, this was a perfect getaway. We had originally planned to go Short's Brewery for the weekend, but once we arrived we couldn't get away! Instead, we just grabbed a couple 6 packs and hunkered down together. Beautiful lakefront view from the hot tub, hammocks, canoes and kayaks, and fire pit; why would we want to go anywhere else. We will definitely be back again soon!!
