**4th BR is an additional $50/night except for holidays, then it's included in the price** Adlerhorst is German for 'Eagle's Nest' -- a name chosen to describe this beautiful home nestled into the side of a mountain-top slope only 15 minutes from downtown Boone, NC. While it is private, cozy, and secluded, this home also has beautiful mountain views year-round -- come cool off in the summer, see the beautiful leaves in the fall, cozy up in the winter and see the awesome stars, or gaze at the gorgeous spring Rhodedendrons and more. You're truly in the best of nature here at Adlerhorst.
This wonderful home is very close to many fun attractions including Beech, Sugar and Hawksnest for skiing and tubing, Grandfather Mountain, The Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway, Watauga Lake, Tweetsie Railroad, Mast General Store, golf - and more! Please click on the link to our website below, for more details.
Adlerhorst is fully furnished and equipped with everything you'll need in the kitchen and beyond. The game room/office offers a plethora of board games, and toys. Bring your laptop and enjoy the wireless access.
The king master bedroom boasts a 'spa shower experience' - dual shower heads with sprayers and extra heat when you step out - you've got to try it! Also luxury bedding with double microplush pillowtop mattress and a big closet/dressing area are here for your peaceful enjoyment.
Upstairs, 'The Fuji room' is themed around the great Mount Fuji in Japan and has a comfy queen bed plus a queen air mattress should you need extra sleeping space, as well as a TV with DirectTV and a large walk-in closet.
Also upstairs, 'Camp Eagle' has two full beds to accommodate 4 more people, and a twin air mattress along with a TV with DirectTV and a DVD player, plus a clock radio with a CD player.
All bathrooms have Egyptian cotton towels, and there are lots of items for babies and kids.
The large deck is a great place to sit and look at the views, the stars, and hear the tranquility of the water rushing down the mountain. Well-behaved, well-groomed pets are welcome.
• There is a propane grill on the deck. Kitchen has everything you should possibly need. Coffee maker is a standard Mr. Coffee with a reusable filter.
• Most houses in the area are not built with central A/C, ours is one of them. However, being on a mountain slope with cool breezes from the nearby stream, it is typically another 5 degrees cooler than Boone, and almost always gets into the 60s overnight in the summer even if it gets to 80 during the day. Rarely gets over 80. There are ceiling fans in every bedroom and in the living room, and plenty of windows with screens :-) Enjoy the mountain air! If you stay in the cooler months - we have an awesome furnace, a wood stove, and an extra heater in the master bathroom.

Our family of two couples, one teen, and
canine companions met at this rental for
a wonderful weekend in July 2011. The
house is very nice ~ we just loved the
open floor plan and the staircase
leading to the 2nd floor ~ with lots of
room for different activities. Thanks to
the owners for answering all of our
questions in advance in such detail
(places to hike, waterfall locations,
etc.) and for their policies to a)
include cleaning fees in the nightly
rate, b) not charge additional pet fees,
c) make check-out so relatively task-
free. (And thanks to those who stay and
care for the property such that the
owners can continue these practices.)
Adlerhorst was clean, comfortable, and
in a great location for our family.
Love the house. It is really spacious. Kids love the toys that they had there to play and the movies to watch. Love the kitchen it has everything you need to use to cook and more. The view is amazing. Only down sided on the property is that there is not much to do outsides for the kids. There is not much outdoor space for them to run around and play ball. The ouside activity we did was walk on the road. We had a great time in the house. My only recommendation to the owner will be to give specific address to the dumpster bc you have to take your trash with you and we couldnt find it. We had to drive around with our trash in the back of the car until we stop by and someone told us to go to the one by Boone. But other then that it wad awesome.
We had a amazing time at this beautiful two story cabin. There was plenty of room for all of us and great place for the kids to play outside. Not to far from Boone and Banner Elk Cafe' you should go there for the sweets if nothing else. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your vacation home. I would recommend it to others.
Owners were friendly and overall great to work with. Cabin was great too; the pictures don't do it justice. Nice size, and wide open floor plan. Very good experience! Definitely need 4 wheel drive in the winter time.
This house was perfect for our long weekend getaway. The view was gorgeous and house was very impressive. We found the house very spacious and relaxing. Breakfast on the deck overlooking the multi-colored rolling mountains was probably the highlight of the weekend. We also enjoyed the fact that downtown Boone was not that far away and we could run out to pick up items if needed. I would definitely recommend this house to others and plan to go back when I can spend an entire week.
We spent the Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend staying at the Adlerhorst and had a wonderful time! It was more than enough room for 2 families (toys and games for the little ones too!) and had everything we could want or need! Perfect location to go skiing, shopping and visiting the Ashe County Cheese factory. Would definitely recommend the house to anyone wanting a beautiful and comfortable place to stay and personally hope to be able to make a trip back this summer!
We LOVED this house. They even had a pack n play and toys for my son to play with! It was spacious and clean and WHAT A VIEW!!! You may want to bring an electric griddle if you're cooking for a larger group.
Access to fishing ponds during the day, zipline, Trash Can Falls, hiking.
