We are musicians with long time ties to Rockport and to the artists and painters of that community
Elena purchased this studio in 1979
It belonged to a dear friend who did not have any children of his own. We bought the house since we enjoyed renting from him and allowed him to live there till the end of his life
It is a special place, very beautiful unique setting since the house is at the top of the sloped lawn, overlooking the lawn, garden, tall trees. The colors change all the time, there is not a day without a great scenery
We loved our stay at the studio, this is our second time staying here. It is equipped with everything you might need, but really all you need is to sit on that porch and watch the lobster fishermen coming and going, and enjoying the beauty and relaxation that Rockport has to offer. We like that it is close to Camden and Rockland, but is not too busy of a town. We loved our morning walks around the town, and sitting on the porch star gazing at night. Looking forward to next year's visit already! Thanks Elena.
We had a wonderful time here, so relaxing, quiet, peaceful. We stayed in one half of the house, which is surrounded by beautiful flowerbeds with giant peonies and gorgeous grounds, including a large lawn sloping down to the water. Just a perfect location! It was so nice to sit down by the harbor and watch the boats. The house is meticulously maintained with lots of period detail. A handsome, giant antique woodstove is a centerpiece of the kitchen, and beautiful built-in cupboards surround part of a dining nook with views of the harbor. Bedrooms upstairs are very comfortable and look out over the ocean. It was great to wake up with the sunlight coming in, hear the birds singing, and feel the ocean breeze! We also enjoyed a short hike, through a wooded area just north of the house and found a trail that comes out on the rocks overlooking the ocean.
We loved our time here—great views of the bay, right on the harbor with a small beach, beautiful setting.
We enjoyed a lovely stay in Maine at this charming, clean, comfortable, and cozy cottage! The view of the harbor was spectacular and the place was close to everything we wanted to do!! Thank you to the owner for the opportunity of enjoying such a beautiful place to vacation!
This is the third time my family and I stayed in the Studio at the Community House. The place is cozy and the setting is perfect. We look forward to our next visit.
a picture perfect experience (inside and outside) - there I was, surrounded by an incredibly beautiful flower garden I could look past to see the boat dock, the Harbor and if you look real close - a tiny beach on the other side with children laughing & playing at the waterside - where do you find a scene like that? I'll tell you where: by renting this spotless and charmingly decorated studio! I did not drive but that was no problem - I could walk to Camden town, buy my groceries and come back "home" in time for a "sundowner" drink on the deck..clean, my goodness, was it ever! and all the pots and pans and coffeepots, etc etc needed...I think I have the best taste in finding just the right place to enjoy the hospitality of the owner and the area..so, go and rent it! you'll be sending glowing reviews without a doubt!
I've made vacationing at the Mid Coast a tradition for a number of years. However, I have to say that my experience, while staying at the studio has been the best. It is a very clean and safe place to vacation, while you leave your worries and concerns at home. You'll find everything you need a the studio; all you have to do is bring your suitcase. It was wonderful to wake up every morning with such a beautiful view of the harbor, just outside your door. I had breakfast every morning on the deck and felt the ocean breezes, while I enjoyed overlooking the flower gardens. There are so many things to do there. You could be an adventurer and go kayaking or hiking, or maybe just want to hang out and enjoy the beauty nature has to offer. It's truly a vacation spot for anyone. Also, the hostess was very cordial and accommodating. She saw to it that I had everything I needed. The studio is located in a neighborhood of nice homes and is a good and safe place to walk where you want to go--away from all the traffic and tourist noise. However, it's also close driving to the nearby villages as well. The area provides something for everyone: art galleries, restaurants, parks, hiking, kayaking, swimming, fishing, the library...again, something for everyone. I plan on being a regular guest every summer.
