About the property

This 4 Bedroom Home is Comfortable and Fully Equipped For Fun!

The 'Green Heron' was named for the many green herons that can be seen cruising the canal for their dinner. The views include the intracoastal, the ocean and fantastic sunsets from the sunset/cocktail deck. You can launch your boat nearby and bring it around to your private dock for easy access to fishing, clamming and water skiing.

All the bedrooms have sliding doors to decks with lounging furniture. The lower master has a private bath. The 2 other lower bedrooms have 2 twins each that can be connected to form king-size beds. The upper master has an over-sized closet area that has a portable crib in it. Linens can be rented for $75/week.

The kitchen is completely furnished with all utensils and amenities. There is seating at the breakfast bar as well as at the dining table that seats 8. The living room furniture is comfortable and allows spectacular views. The house is equipped with games, movies and books. All 4 bedrooms have tv's and seating and 2 have computer desks. WIFI is throughout the house! There are plenty of places nearby to rent kayaks, bicycles and surf boards.

The house is located on a quiet road that dead-ends on the waterway. The beach is at the other end of the road with it's own crossover. There is no limit to the fun you can have on our beautiful island. Come join us!!

About Dawneva Evans

As avid boaters and beach goers my family had this house built to give the most comfort and fun for weekly renters. Launch your boat when you arrive and dock it out front ready to use.

Dawneva Evans purchased this house in 2001

Why Dawneva Evans chose Topsail Beach

This property on the canal was a Queens Grant to my Great Uncle Harvey Jones' family and I spent every summer visiting him on this Island. He owned and operated the Dolphin Pier and many locals have fond memories of fishing there for decades . It was eventually destroyed and the property which spanned from the Ocean to Hwy 17 in Hampstead was developed. The area has a lot of history and one of the Towers from Operation Bumblebee in World War II is visible from the windows.

What makes this house unique

The ease of access to the beach or boat or relaxing decks are one of the nicest features of this house. Whatever your mood, there is something to suit it! And did I mention, the views of the sunset over the sound are incredible?!

Fishing from the dock, fish cleaning table, hot and cold outside shower, walk to beach, ocean view. The world renowned Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital is just off the Island and makes a great break from the water activities. This is a quaint Island without all the crowds and noise of the beaches to the South. If you're looking for neon lights and loud attractions this is not it! If you want a nice beach and friendly local entertainment you will be in Heaven here. A beautiful place to unwind and let your soul restore it's balance.

Great Family Trip!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our time at the Green Heron! The weather was perfect and the house was great. We had plenty of room, the living room, dining and kitchen is open and easy to spend time with family. We enjoyed the decks and being close to beach. Loved the outside shower. My boys did not want to leave. The owners were very easy to work with.

Nice home, clean, great location and value, quite neighborhood. Close access to both beach and sound/inlet for fishing. Everything we needed was there. Would book again.

Great house with lots of room! Perfect for those who like water sports!

  • 4 of 5

This is a very nice house that is well managed and maintained! The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need. If you get linens from the owner (which I recommend), they provide you with all you need and then some. Every room has access to a deck with a sound view. The bedrooms have ample room and storage. There are board games and puzzles for family fun. It's a very short walk to the public beach access (less than 5 minutes from door to beach). If you own a boat this place is perfect. Put it in at the public launch the day you arrive and leave it at the house. Only a 20 minute ride to the ocean! Great place, great owners!

We had a few issues while there, but not at the fault of the owners. The AC unit had a faulty trip switch which has been fixed. The internet went out after a really bad storm. Things happen! The owners did all they could to ensure we were satisfied!

The house is very well appointed and more spacious than it appeared from pictures. There was nothing we needed that was not provided. Dawneva and Harry are very easy to work with and take great care of the property.

This is such a great house and property! This is our second stay here and the 4 spacious bedrooms fit our family so well... all have water views and large decks to sit on every evening! Beautiful views of the sunset and we had gorgeous ones! We brought our boat and the dock was easy to get up and down from. The beach is just steps away with a town beach access right at the end of the street! We'll be back!!!! Thankyou so much!!!!
