Perfect spot for family gathering!
We came together from three states and everyone gave this property, as well as Pagosa Springs, two thumbs up. This beautiful home comes with amenities and supplies you don't get in other rental properties. Its located close to town and a short drive to Wolf Creek ski resort. Highly recommend Paradise in the Pines!!
Thank you so much! Very glad you enjoyed your stay.
Spring Break 2018
Great place to stay for a Spring Break ski trip. Had everything we needed and more. Can't wait to come back!
Thanks! Can't wait to host you/yours again....
Comfortable, clean and attractive house
We were happy with this property, especially its generous supplies of lotions, shampoo, paper products, and kitchen basics such as oils, spices, etc. The gas stove was excellent as were the great-quality pots and pans. Home was in a pleasant tree-filled area that was generally quiet except for a few noisy dogs and loud ATVs that did quiet down at night. The room darkening shades and big king-size bed were nice too. The detailed notes and pre-arrival instructions were thorough and helpful. We left several notes in the guest book about small repairs that were needed and other suggestions for items that could be added to the kitchen, but none of these prevented us from enjoying the property. It is close to the town and most of its amenities and overall the house was kept very clean and in very good shape. It worked well for two adult couples. Thank you.
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed your stay!
ps-there's a crock pot (+ turkey pan & platter/pressure cooker etc) stored in the downstairs linen closet since they're not used daily.
Quiet and cozy
My husband, 2 dogs and I went for a long weekend snow getaway. Originally we had planned for another couple to come so we had a ton of space to ourselves but it would comfortably fit a bigger family/group with no problem. Check in was easy with the code provided to house keys. The house was very nice, well equipped with all the amenities including games and movies for kids or families. We had space for our dogs to be set up in the downstairs hall area which was nice. The floor had radiant heating which was neat. The neighborhood was quiet- and feels like you're far from town but only 3 minutes from food, gas, and grocery.
Know before you go: some of the instructions through the house conflicted- the garbage leave-out instructions conflicted from garage wall to the instruction book upstairs. We also found some instructions on walls in garage that weren't in book (i.e. regarding getting charged if you park in garage with a snowy car.) We found that on accident because the fly screen over the door obstructed it. We swept and cleaned up with water but beware of this if you're not from snowy area- apparently it gets dirty fast and it was a pain after-the-fact to fix. If instructions were all condensed into the book then it would be easier to make sure all rules were followed- just know to read all the walls in addition to the rule manual when you get there (normally I read the book first thing, but we found more rules scattered everywhere over the next day).
Tips for neat freaks with travel cleanliness anxiety (like me): The house doesn't have much cleaning supply I could find easily so pack your fave disinfectant wipes/spray if you like to have a clean kitchen or wipe up after yourself. If you have kids or allergies you might want to pack your own mini vac too since it's hard to clean area rugs without one and leave a clean house by the end of your stay. You could sweep the kitchen but everywhere else has area rugs.
Overall, we would stay again!
Thank you for the heads up, we'll be visiting in a few weeks and we'll go over all the instructions. Over a decade of renting this home has resulted in changes to trash handling over the years (i.e. pet refuse left in yard/smelly trash in overly hot summers/bear attacks on trash bin/neighbors dumping their trash bags in front of home etc), which necessitated additional instructions. We'll ensure it's consolidated for our guests' ease of mind. Just so you know, there's a "Dyson-pet" vacuum cleaner inside the closet in the Queen bedroom. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
Great spot for relaxation and outdoor activities
Well-stocked kitchen with good quality pans, knives, dishware and fun glasses for all kind of drinks!
Spacious living room/dining table.
Clean, well-stocked bathrooms.
Comfortable radiant floor heating keeps it cozy.
Close to town, but also 10 minutes to great cross-country skiing/snowshoeing.
Small garage, but perfect for one car to stay warm and dry in a storm.
We enjoyed it all! Thanks for sharing your house.
Nice Short Stay
We only stayed three nights but had a great time in PS. The heated floors were a nice bonus but the living & dining areas were dimly lit after sunset. We actually didn’t use the kitchen...since we skiied each day, we basically only showered and slept at the house. There were soooo many instructions. I pay attention to details so I read everything that was emailed/left/posted. Everything was just as stated in the ad and our deposit was returned promptly. I called the owner with a question and was able to reach her with no problem. Recommend this home if you’re looking in PS.
Thanks for the heads up-please note that the dining room has a "dimmer light switch" and the 5 bulbs in the antler fixture (above the dining table) provide a very bright effect when set on the highest setting. We are bringing a new reading light for the living room next time we go to the house & will evaluate all the lighting in the main area.
5 minute drive to famous hot springs resort. Also nearby: 22 min to Wolf Creek ski Resort, 5 min to Colorado's largest wilderness area (the Weminuche),Chimney rock formation, Mesa Verde Anasazi Nat'l Monument, Town of Taos (2 hrs away), Town of Santa Fe (3 hrs away)and Navajo Dam.
