Smith Mountain Lake House Rental Photos and Description

5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 separate living areas

Mountain View Seclusion, located at 217 Deerwood Drive, Huddleston, VA, is a beautiful waterfront home with two full levels offering views of Smith Mountain and the quiet cove. This secluded home offers 5 bedrooms & 3 baths. Levels are only connected by an external stairway to allow separation between two families vacationing together or allowing your teens a 'pad' of their own. Enough space and privacy for everyone with an upstairs level of 3 bedrooms and 1 full bath and a downstairs level of 2 bedrooms and two full baths. Both levels offer full kitchen amenities and living areas. Also a private dock with deep, clear water for swimming and fishing in this no-wake cove. Enjoy the most beautiful deep-green water on Smith Mountain Lake with an exceptional view of the mountain too! 2 covered screened porches and an open deck with 2 large tables for eating outside. A gentle 200' slope with a lighted terraced walkway makes for easy access to the dock. Quiet neighborhood great for bikes and walking.

It's perfect for children and safe biking in quiet wooded neighborhood. Of course bring your pets because this spot will be special for them as well! The dock area is known for it's outstanding fishing.

Sleep at night in the queen beds; or curl up in one of the comfortable twin beds. Enjoy watching deer, birds, and other wildlife play while dining on the open deck or the screened porch.

Mountain View Seclusion offers all the comforts and luxury you would want and deserve after a hard day of fishing, swimming, or hiking. A grill, 2 covered screened porches, and open decking add to the enjoyment.

Smith Mountain Lake is enjoyable any season of the year. Watch the spring burst into bloom; relax into the summer with fishing and swimming; experience a blazing fall color spectacular with a wine festival in September; cuddle up around the fire throughout the winter and watch the deer play; relax at night by the gas fireplace upstairs with a book or board games.

For those that can not afford to be out of reach or want to work in an atmosphere of relaxation while the rest of the family plays, wireless Internet access and cable TV is also available.

Amenities include (but are not limited to) a DVD, cable TV, games, and books.

A great week at the lake!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week at SML! Having 6 adults and 3 children, it was nice to be on two levels of the house. The kids and adults enjoyed the great selection of games provided when we got our daily rain !

Having our own pontoon boat, it was very easy to use the community boat launch close by.

No one wanted to come home!

Wonderful Stay

  • 4 of 5

This was a wonderful stay for Friends and I. We truly enjoy the amazing view, the floating dock (even in cold weather), and home in general. You can't go wrong with two fully stocked kitchens when you feel like having a meal in- which we did! The huge amount of board games made for a wonderful night in as well. It is a wonderful place to just stay and relax after a day out or in general. The only issue we had with the house was the heating not fully working in the downstairs and downstairs lights would flicker from time to time- but that may have just been due to wind. The pros certainly outweigh the two small cons and we truly hope to come back in warm weather. The owner is very wonderful with communication and is doing a great job with upkeep!

Owner's Response: Thanks for letting us know about the lights flickering in the basement. We've traced the problem to a bad dimmer switch and will be replacing that.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The Crofford Lakehouse is one of the best I have ever stayed at. This was my first visit to Smith Mountain Lake and after staying here, I am 100% this will not be my last.

Everything there is just perfect. Very well cleaned and very well-maintaind. The Crofford's told me about this location and they provided the best customer service. It was everything they said it was.

I loved every second I was there and would recommend this wonderful getaway to anyone and everyone.

I was able to spend time on the pier, did some fishing and took in the sites in the shops that were close by. I can't wait to go back and enjoy them again.

Great weekend.

Thanks again,

Perfect for Family Holiday Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We rented the house for the Thanksgiving weekend. It was perfect for our family of ten, including two young grandchildren. It is very well-equipped, and having two kitchens really helped in fixing a large turkey dinner.

The house was exactly as listed on the website; it's roomy, comfortable, and convenient. The weather was great and we spent lots of time on the deck and on the dock where the two boys learned to fish. The owner was very helpful and the written instructions told us all we needed to know.

We are thinking of renting again next year, and would gladly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, beautiful home on the lake.

beautiful autumn vacation

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our group. We spent hours on the dock in the sun while the dogs swam. The house with its separate upstairs and downstairs floors and kitchens helped our group spread out and have plenty of space to sleep in, cook meals, and read. It seems there has been some redecorating since the photos were taken--we were very impressed with the amount of room and large beds available. Our only complaint was that there wasn't enough toilet paper in the house, but we made do! We really appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and enjoyed cooking meals together. We visited the nearby state park for a hike to Turtle Island. We'd definitely come again. Thanks so much for an easy, lovely stay!

Owner's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I will update the house information to make it clear that paper products, toilet paper included, are not provided and should be brought by the renter. Thanks again for your review.

A beautiful, relaxing vacation on Smith Mountain Lake. House was clean and had recent updates, very well equipped with kitchen essentials. Beds slept great, plenty of room for my large family. Loved the peaceful cove! Highly recommend & would certainly stay here again.
