Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 - 5 nights

About the property

Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

A lovely hideaway nestled in the treetops of the quiet Big Hollow cove on grand lake of the Cherokees with a panoramic view of the water.

The Anniversary Cottage sits on a hillside 400 feet from water access. The Anniversary Cottage is a 1 bedroom with a sleeping loft that will accommodate up to 4 people, but is perfect for a couple’s get-a-way.

The Anniversary Cottage is a quiet, cozy, luxurious get-a-way to relax in with all the comforts of home. Will sleep 4.

Whether you are an early-bird enjoying the early morning light over the water & the music of the morning birds or a night-owl taking pleasure in the sounds of the night & the moon reflecting on the lake, you will appreciate lounging on the covered deck soaking in all the sights, sounds and smells of nature.

The bath would compete with any 5 star hotel, with thick thirsty towels. It has a jetted tub for two. If that isn't to your liking, the shower will accommodate two also.

Lounge on the 16 x 36 swim platform watching the ducks play in front of you and seagulls dive or maybe catch a glimpse of the resident bald eagle.

Our cove is a favorite spot for fisherman.

We have a 16 x 36 swim platform as well as a dock available for tying up your boat that. You may fish off the dock or if you enjoy taking a dip, you can take a dive off the dock and float around for a leisurely afternoon in the water.

The Anniversary Cottage is located in Big Hollow Cove about 1/4 mile off main lake. Big Hollow is a no wake cove on the Southeast side of the lake. Saddle Island is at the entrance to Big Hollow Cove. Sweet Water Hollow & Serenity Point are to the northeast of Big Hollow. Johnson Hollow & Goat Island are to the west of Big Hollow. Drowning Creek is further west & the closest major cove.

Quiet Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was well-stocked, clean, and located in a quiet cove. The bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom was a dream! Loved the jetted tub and the large shower. It turned a little chilly while we were there so we were able to take advantage of the fireplace. We took a walk every morning and the absence of almost any traffic was ideal. Although we used this as a couple, there are two beds in the loft that could be used for a larger group. It was just a short hike down to the water and during the summer would be the perfect place to swim and take advantage of the pedal boat or canoe that is provided. The dock was a nice place t sit and relax and my husband even enjoyed fishing from it. We would highly recommend staying here if quiet relaxation is what you are in needing.

Such a relaxing place to get away!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed 4 days and 3 three nights at the Anniversary Cottage. We canoed in the cove, spent time on the deck enjoying the view, started a fire in the fireplace, and loved the whirlpool tub. This adorable place has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen or on the grill. The appliances are all very nice.

The drive getting there felt a little like you would never get there, but once you arrived the solitude was well worth it!

So beautiful, so peaceful, absolutely charming!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd visit to the cottage and we will continue to come back. Linda's cookies are amazing, and the view from the back balcony is so calming. You can see the turkey buzzards flying around and even a bald eagle if you're lucky. We brought our kayaks and paddled around the lake. If you've never been here, I highly recommend this property, you won't be disappointed. The master bed is more comfortable than my own. There are two double beds in the upstairs loft if you have kiddos. The walk down to the dock is not for your average couch potato, it's not far but it's steep. There are a couple of antique stores in Grove worth checking out and a good Mexican restaurant. If you are a boat person, this is the place for you. Bob has several Chris Craft boats in various stages of restoration, all of them absolutely beautiful.

Cottage at the end of a winding lane

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Big Hollow. Bob and Linda were perfect hosts! The cabin is not only beautiful inside and out, it's stocked with everything you need for a great get away. We brought a few bags of groceries and just stayed put for the week. Canoeing, bicycling down the lane, sitting on the beautiful balcony, walking down to the boat docks-- every single thing about this time was enchanting. The birds were singing, frogs were croaking , leaves were falling- it was just picture perfect. The interior of the cottage is absolutely beautiful for a couple or a small family. I look forward to not only coming back, but I'm sending my married kids to this place for a true get away from it all. A perfect place to refresh, reconnect and relax!

beautiful cottage, limited parking

  • 3 of 5

Remote location, beautiful setting, cottage sits above two other residences. The Cottages area is secluded and remote -- however there are two other residences right there within a few feet, so you're not really "secluded". A lot has changed since one of these photos was taken... there is a home between the Cottage and the lake, so the view is not as direct as one of these photos represents (in my opinion). There is a steep grade down to the water, and you have to wind your way around the bottom residences. The walk back up is a booger! LOL

Our stay was less than perfect only because we needed better parking and boat ramp access. Parking a boat is only possible on a roadside, and that was not a comfortable situation for us. The nearby boat ramp is partially closed, and is rarely used, making it a struggle to launch. (cross timbers and washed up materials make access difficult) The nearest ramp to the house is about a 15 minute drive. The boat docking on the water is very nice, but is not covered. Again, not a big deal, but should be noted if you want covered docking.

Ask all the questions you can, and know what you're getting into before you get there -- the refund policy is absolute and they will not waver from it. I was a bit disappointed in that. The owners believe their accessibility for boat parking and docking is adequate. I think many would disagree as we did. This will not get you any form or any small percentage of a refund.
