Rocky Mountain National Park Chalet Rental Photos and Description

Chalet, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)

Why stay in the same old cabin or condo when you can stay in our beautiful, clean and unique A-Frame.

The location of this home is perfect for your Estes vacation. It is located in a very quiet collection of a few cabins just a few minutes hike into Rocky Mountain National Park or the the YMCA property and a 1.5 mile drive to Downtown or the Beaver Meadows entrance into RMNP . You can also walk to the very popular Dunraven Italian Restaurant (the one off Hwy 66).

You will have a marvelous Rocky Mountain vacation in this clean, quiet, fully appointed vacation home. We have two bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a balcony where you can hear the Big Thompson River through the trees. The second bedroom has a full size bed. Downstairs is tastefully decorated with newer furniture with a pull-out queen and pull-out twin bed. Downstairs is great for kids to sleep in while the grown-ups sleep quietly upstairs.

We have a brand new remodeled full kitchen w/ gas stove, dishwasher and microwave. We also have a newer full sized washer and dryer too.

You can relax and read a book by the wood-burning stove, watch DVD's on the TV (we have a large selection of DVD's stocked), play classic Atari video games or sit on the front or back porches and watch the elk, deer, bears, foxes, coyotes, wild turkeys, rabbits, hummingbirds etc. that are frequently seen on the property.

If you want to hike, this is the location for you. You can hike into Rocky Mountain National Park along the picturesque boulder strewn Big Thompson River and be in the Moraine Park area (prime fishing and elk viewing area) in about 15 minutes. You can also hike along Glacier Creek for more fishing and beautiful trails. The YMCA has numerous trails where mountain biking is allowed. We are close to quite a few restaurants, shopping, horseback riding, fishing, miniature golf and all that Estes has to offer on Highway 66 (Tunnel Rd) into downtown Estes.

Why Andrea or Stephen Velasco chose Rocky Mountain National Park

We fell in love with this house the moment we saw it. We have always loved Estes Park, and wanted our own little piece of it to enjoy. We love being able to easily hike into the park. The wildlife in the immediate area is abundant. The balcony off the bedroom is fantastic for sitting outside with a cup of coffee listening to the roar of the water nearby. We have always loved the unique look of an A-Frame. It's like owning a Harley or an Airstream. Why have a home like everyone else!

What makes this chalet unique

Walk into the RMNP Morraine Park area. Walk to the best restaurant in Estes Park - The Dunraven. Enjoy local wildlife.

Lovely Little Cabin

  • 4 of 5

This cabin is certainly charming on the outside and in a great location to the park. Our girls (6 & 8) loved staying here and enjoyed the tight spiral staircase leading to the bedrooms upstairs. They seemed to really love the novelty of the cabin, overall.

We did always drive into RMNP and used the shuttle system within the park quite a bit. We missed out on seeing any wildlife while at the cabin, other than chipmunks, but enjoyed seeing elk, deer, marmot, and many other things while in the park. We saw the river across the highway but couldn't find a spot to walk to it that wasn't someone's property or yard, so that might have been my only disappointment. We visited the river in the park though. We did eat at the Dunraven just down the road, and it was good. We did Estes Park Brewing too, but I'd say have a beer and skip the food.

The cabin was simple & clean. As stated, you will be "unplugging" as there is no cable and little to no cell service, but that was fine for us. It had everything we needed to cook, shower, and sleep comfortably. My husband was happy to have a grill to cook out some. I was very happy to have the washer and dryer available because with a family of 5 on an extended vacation, that is near the top of my list to avoid taking home many bags of dirty clothes!

This place is quiet, quaint, and simple. We'd stay here again.

My family of 4 stayed here for 3 nights in early June. We found the cabin comfortable and in a convenient location for visiting RMNP.

The perfect getaway Cabin for our family!

  • 5 of 5

This Cabin had absoutely everything we needed. Space, views, solitude, comfort, cleanliness and the perfect distance between downtown Estes and the National Park. We've already decided that this sweet A Frame is a MUST for our getaways to Colorado every year.

Andrea was absoutely wonderful to work with. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home! We can't wait to return.

Photos Don't Do It Justice

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying at this property. The photos seriously do not do it justice. The house has amazing views out of the front door and is in the perfect location - close enough to town but far enough away to feel secluded. The living room is cozy and sleeping areas extremely comfortable. We saw lots of deer in the backyard which was fun.

The kitchen was very well equipped; we were able to cook a full Thanksgiving meal there no problem. The only thing I would recommend bringing with you if you're planning to cook is tupperware for leftovers.

While we were in Estes we went to Snowy Peaks winery, the Stanley hotel, RMNP, and shopped downtown. We went in late November and even though it was cold and snowy we had a great time. I would stay in this cabin again.
