Our single story house with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is just one block north of popular Highway 192 in St. Cloud, which takes you right to the entrance of Disney World, or you can take the Osceola Parkway and be there within 45 minutes from the time you leave the house. From Osceola Parkway, Universal Studios and the other theme parks are accessible. The location of the house is what makes people want to return again and again. The house has the advantage of a quiet country area yet is close to all services. The Florida room leads out to a sundeck, with steps down to the wooden dock - great for fishing on the canal which leads out to Lake Runnymede and East Lake Tohopekaliga. The 30x15 solar-heated swimming pool can be entered by way of the sundeck or through sliding glass doors from the dining room. The wooden dock is nice for fishing, sunbathing and watching the wild life. Bird watching is especially good. A gas barbecue grill is located on the patio.
The house offers a full kitchen with full size appliances, a microwave, Zephyrhills water cooler, 1 color TV, a laundry room with full size washer and dryer plus all the housewares you may need. There is central air and heating, The Master Bedroom has a California king-size bed. And in the second bedroom there is a queen-size bed and a trundle bed.
Within 10 minutes from the house, on Highway 192, is a Wal-Mart Supercenter, restaurants, supermarkets, stores, garages and anything else that you might need. A twin movie theater is located on 10th Street. A flea market is only 15 minutes from the house on 192. Within 35 minutes you can be at the Mall at Millenia or The Florida Mall by way of the Turnpike.
Within 5 minutes from the house are tennis courts and a handball court which you may use at no charge. Within 15 minutes there are two PGA rated golf courses.
Orlando International Airport is only 30 minutes from the house.
In about an hour's drive, you can reach Florida's beaches, or you can go to the NASA Kennedy Space Center for tours. You can actually drive on Daytona Beach, the most famous beach in the world. The Silver Spurs Arena, located in Kissimmee, hosts two major rodeos a year. The Houston Astros do their Spring Training within 20 minutes of the house. The Orlando Convention Center and the Gaylord Palms, with its convention center, beautiful grounds, bars and restaurants, are both about 45 minutes away. Lake Tohopekaliga (Lake Toho) is considered one of the best bass fishing lakes in the country. For your daily exercise, there is a walkway on Lake Toho at Lakeshore Drive.
When you need a rest, it's nice to discover that the old Florida is still there, with many natural places of interest to visit, lakes to fish and wildlife to see; all under the Florida sun.
We look forward to having you come and stay in 'Terrebethia'; that's the name our children gave to the area where the house is located.
Clean, peaceful, quiet. At the end of the street set on a canal. The loudest noise is the birds. Beautiful decks and great swimming pool. Very relaxing atmosphere, pool for the Mrs., fishing for the Mr. is just 50' out the back door. Air conditioning for those who soak up too much sun. I don't think there is anything you could ask for that is not there. Bring your own clothes and toothbrush and you are set for a great vacation.
We had a great time ! Peacefull place ...
My wife and I rented this lovely true Florida home for a week. We wanted a quiet and convenient place to stay for a family reunion in the St. Cloud area and this home fit the bill. It is exactly like the pictures show but pictures can't let you know how really nice it is.
We come to St. Cloud often and have always stayed in a hotel. After this we'll stay here again. There just is not a single thing here to criticize. The owner’s parents Marvin and Bertha live across the street and were very helpful without being intrusive.
We had family staying all around the area for this reunion and my sister who hosted it couldn't fit everyone at her house for the big family dinner. We looked around in the kitchen and realized we had everything here we needed to cook, serve and seat everyone---all 28 of us. The teens loved the pool and the fishing, Marvin got poles for them and everybody caught fish. The adults and kids went out on the paddle boat and in the canoe. We put the grill to good use and with the deck, house tables and chairs everyone had a place to sit and eat. We didn't plan to host this meal, but it couldn't have turned out better.
Lots of people look to stay close to Disney or the beach when they come to Florida, wise ones stay in St. Cloud for the prices and convenient access to both. Oh yes, if you stay here go to the Koffee Kup at least once for breakfast.
We rented this house for a week and had a wonderful vacation. It is a nice area to bike from. The lakefront path is a beautiful easy ride. It was also close to the attractions in kissimmee. It was everything we expected from the pictures. Would definately return.
This property is exactly as described, both inside and out, right down to the comforters and pillows. It was very clean (including the pool) and the beds were very comfortable. If you like birds, you will especially love this property! It is at the end of a canal and we saw birds every day across the canal and on our property, including ospreys, great blue herons, a great egret, sandhill cranes, limpkins and ibises. The neighborhood is quiet and Mr. and Mrs. Chase are very kind and welcoming. The gas grill works well, there are lots of deck chairs, and we had a cookout once. Overall, a great, very relaxing week. We hope to return someday.
We enjoyed a lovely week of spring break at this beautiful house in St Cloud, Florida. It is conveniently located in St. Cloud at the end of a street with a canal just outside your back door. The house is very well kept and has every convenience your family might need: kitchen essentials, towels (bath & beach), washer/dryer and more. The owners' parents live across the street and were very friendly and showed us the gator that lived across the canal as well as many birds and other wild life. Although we spent several days in Orlando, this home was a lovely, relaxing respite from the crazy tourist scene. St Cloud has all the stores or restaurants you might need. We took advantage of the beautiful lakefront park & path that are about 1/2 mile from the home. The only thing I can think that would improve this vacation home would be a lounge chair by the pool to nap and enjoy the Florida sunshine.
Saint Cloud's Lakefront is very enjoyable with a paved walkway to take walks on or exercise, a small beach to relax on or play volleyball, a playground for children, a marina with boats, and many birds to view. Peghorn Park is another park in Saint Cloud that has a short nature trail with many beautiful flowers, butterflies during the summer, and many birds singing in the trees. Downtown Saint Cloud has a historic antique district with several shops and eateries to explore. There are a few seasonal community events such as a 4th of July Celebration, a Christmas Parade, as well as a Tree Lighting Ceremony. Within an hour's drive are Central Florida's main attractions such as Disney World, Sea World, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Universal Studios, LEGOLAND, Gatorworld, water parks, and more. Locally there is also the Melbourne Zoo located near the East Coast beaches, the downtown area of Celebration which was developed by Disney, downtown Winter Park and Mount Dora both of which have many wonderful specialty and retail shops to explore. There is also Bok Tower Gardens which is a beautiful historic site located approximately an hour and 15 minutes south of St Cloud. And located just outside of Saint Cloud is the newly opened Wild Florida wildlife park with airboat rides to explore our waterways.
