Hello, I grew up in South Africa and, later on, in Holland. I am a singer and also work at a kindergarten. I live with my partner in Zandvoort.
Miriam purchased this house in 2013
Casa Mexicana is a cosy, holiday home in Zandvoort. The home is located on a beautiful, peaceful street near the city centre, the beach, the dunes, and restaurants. Wi-Fi and parking pass are included. Everything is nearby, yet it is still quiet here.
From this lovely, holiday home in Zandvoort, you can easily get to the city centre, the beach, the dunes, and the supermarket in just a few minutes. The home is located on a peaceful street, yet near many attractions. Amsterdam can be reached easily by train from Zandvoort Station in just a half-hour. There is free parking in front of the house (with a parking disc that expires every 3 hours).
The house is quirky and very cozy. We loved it. Miriam, the owner, is as another reviewer says, a delight. My husband and I wanted a restful 10 day beach holiday and that is exactly what we got. The town and little street that Casa Mexicana is located on are perfect. Close to everything: the beach, great shops and restaurants. the train station is within a 5-10 minute walk. The beach was great. But we enjoyed relaxing in Casa M's pretty little courtyard too. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants an interesting, quiet and funky place to stay.
My husband and I spent a week in Casa Mexicana in April of 2014. The owner, Miriam, is a delight. She is easy to communicate with, responsive, and friendly. Her rental property is truly beautiful, artistic, and interesting. The master suite is bright and spacious, with a comfortable bed, great shower and jetted tub. The rental is located within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach. The outdoor patio area is attractive and soothing. We entertained family and friends during our stay, and they were equally impressed with the property. The beautifully tiled, but steep and unrailed stairway to the upstairs master suite could make this property challenging for individuals with disabilities, or for those with very small children. Also, parking in this popular seaside town can be difficult. But for those seeking romance, relaxation or adventure, Casa Mexicana is an ideal option to consider for your next vacation.

There are no limits to what you can do here. Of course, you can also relax in one of the many beach pavilions. Since May 2004, the “blue flag” has been waving over the beach here. This is an international symbol of recognition for clean and safe beaches. The Grote Markt (Great Market) has been the beating heart of this historic city centre for centuries. Once you are standing at the feet of the Laurens Jansz Coster sculpture (“Lautje” for Haarlem residents), you can decide where to go from there. Museums, uniquely charming buildings, cosy pubs, and countless other wonderful locations make for a particularly lovely city centre. It will transport back in time. Looking around the area, you will come face to face with the late Gothic St. Bavo church, the 14th-century Town Hall, or the gorgeous and imposing Vleeshal by the master architect, Lieven De Key. Strolling along the magical canals and the beautiful River Spaarne, you will marvel at the stunning facades, a reflection of the shining, Golden Age. There is no better place to experience this than in the Frans Hals Museum. Then pay a visit to the Teylers Museum, the oldest museum in the Netherlands, and you will get the feeling that you are back in the 19th century. This goes for the Museum De Cruquius as well, just a few kilometres from Haarlem. This old steam pumping station is housed in a world-famous, neo-Gothic water filtration facility from 1849, with one of the largest steam engines in the world. De Cruquius, along with its two other steam pumping facilities, pumped water out of the Haarlemmermeer for three years. Both time and steam engine remained untouched until a museum was built there in 1936, where one can now experience the battle between man and lake that has lasted for centuries. On 4 June 2002, Crown Prince Willem Alexander brought the engine back into action with hydraulic power. Want to go to Amsterdam? The bustling metropolis of Amsterdam has an incredible amount of things to offer a tourist. Just to name a few: the internationally famous Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and the Anne Frank House. There is much more, of course: the Wallen, the picturesque markets, the popular shopping strips, and the legendary Grachtengordel (Canal Belt) with its famous homes. All these attractions are most likely soon-to-be protected under UNESCO World Heritage designations! The homes along the canals are best viewed from a boat tour along the canal. Whether its day or night, the options here are endless. In short: Amsterdam has something to offer to just about any kind of person! Want to visit Madame Tussaud’s?
