A very special place and a privilege to visit
It was a pleasure and a privilege to spend a week with my family at the Bing Crosby Lake Hayden home. As fans of his, it was a special treat to play an anthology of his best work while taking up temporary residency in a home that is described as his favorite.
First time visitors should be prepared, however, for living in a home that is vintage in more ways than one. Not only are the home and grounds pretty much the way Bing and his architect wanted it, which is refreshing, but many surfaces, appliances, and fixtures appear to be original. This makes using and cleaning them more challenging than updated versions even for professionals.
We suggest at a minimum that lounge chairs be placed on the deck, an umbrella for the outdoor dining area which would make summertime dining before 7 pm more pleasant, and additional seating in the living room to accommodate up to 10 which is the sleeping capacity of the home. Additionally, the access to the beach is treacherous and should be improved for safety's sake.
We encourage the preservation of this 50's era masterpiece and living museum and would be glad to discuss some thoughts of ours having taken steps to preserve our family legacy property in perpetuity.
I’m so happy to hear that you and your family had such a great time!
Thank you for your suggestions.
We have installed a hand rail on the stairs down to the lake for safety purposes.
We have one of the best accesses to the lake on Hayden Lake. No people movers!
Super cool history. Great yard, great view
What a wonderful place!
Everything abouth this vacation was magical. Mary is so kind and was never bothered by my many emails and never ending questions. The house was so beautiful. We are a family of Bing Crosby fans and really appreciated the history of the home and the wonderfully framed pictures explaining each room. The pictures of the Crosby family and Christmas cards Bing sent from the 40's and 50's that were on display were just terrific. We HIGHLY recommend this house. We will absolutely return. Thank you for making our Christnas so special Mary!
Excellant - Relaxing and Comfortable !
We have enjoyed many visits to the Crosby home over many years. The home is always a welcome reprieve from the hustle of life. Our family enjoys beautiful Hayden Lake and the warm summers spent mostly in and on the water. Mary has been a great hostess and we appreciate her warmth and hospitality in making sure our stay each year is so wonderful.
Property was an A++++++++Perfect location + dock + view...Fantastic home
No cookware that was useable. Had to purchase at local store.
Curtains were not manageable or missing so sun came in 10 foot sliders and heat was unbearable. No screens on sliders so open doors to release heat, mice came in.
No A/C. Not enuf fans. Couldn't be in living room area from 1pm-8pm due to heat (August).
Plenty of room, comfortable beds, lovely history..++++++++
We still had a great time w family. Would not do in summer months unless curtains fixed.

We sooo enjoyed our stay at the Bibg Crosby family home. What a step back in time...and seeing all the pictures of how it was with Mr. Bing Crosby and family living there was wonderful. I can just imagine the fun times spent there by all. The family photo books look like you Crosbys know how to have a great time. The dock is a real plus for swimming and diving and we so enjoyed our two days of boating from Nels...what a great guy! We also enjoyed supper over at the Mariana and it was great to drive his new pontoon and park right up to the restaurant. The beautiful stone deck was so enjoyable and the evenings sitting they were spectacular....a quiet place. So nice to see the American flag in the back yard. It has been great to talk with Mary and Bing as we made the reservations. Thank you again for letting us stay and opening you home to us. We highly recommend this beautiful home and sure hope to come back!
