About Donna & John Clark

Donna and John Clark began their lodging business in 1994 with one room in their home which they converted into a bed and breakfast room. Now, almost 20 years later, along with some of their grown 7 children and 16 grandchildren, they own and manage 12 bed and breakfast rooms and 4 waterfront vacation rental homes. It is a family business that has brought joy to their family as well as to the hundreds of vacationers who have stayed with them.

Donna & John Clark purchased this house in 2005

Why Donna & John Clark chose Adirondacks

The privacy of this property is unmatched with its 16 acres of waterfront grounds; large groups are free to enjoy their vacation without fear of disturbing neighbors. It is a recreational paradise with pontoon boat, unlimited boat gas, kayaks, paddle board, waterfront hot tub, lit volleyball court, adjacent game building with pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, etc. NEW: we have ordered for the living room a new leather sleeper sofa which opens up into an additional queen bed—to be delivered in January, 2015. With the sleeper sofa the home will sleep 19.

What makes this house unique

Built and equipped for large groups. Ultimate privacy. Many facets of recreation on grounds and nearby. Close proximity (1/2 hour or less) to St. Lawrence University, Clarkson University, and 2 SUNY schools make it a resource for conferences, visiting sports teams parents, etc.

Fantastic experience! Perfect for large groups!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a weekend at the Raquette Lodge with a large group. We could not have asked for a more beautiful, private, and memorable location! It was spacious, clean, and stunning, and the owners were a pleasure to work with. We honestly could not have imagined finding a more perfect spot in all of the Adirondacks, especially not for such a reasonable price.

We had many outdoor enthusiasts in our group, who were all thrilled by the easy hiking, kayaking, and canoeing access. Others simply enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace or taking in the gorgeous views from the hot tub.

Truly a fabulous spot for large families or groups. We have already gotten many phone calls from people in our group asking how soon we can all go back!

Thanks for a truly memorable and wonderful experience.

Quiet, easy family retreat

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our family stay at Raquette Lodge. There were 17 of us. The owners have done a wonderful job in creating a peaceful family retreat. The hot tub, the games room (a converted garage) and the outdoor volleyball court were very much enjoyed by all. A bottle of wine and Perrier were provided as a very thoughtful welcome gift. The home was clean and well provisioned (kitchen, games, wood for the firepit, outdoor seating, even flashlights). The lodge is perfectly situated perfectly to enjoy sunsets. We thoroughly enjoyed our time!

Great rental for a winter getaway with friends!

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 13 friends that visited the Raquette Lodge and it was great! The layout was nice - the open floor plan with the kitchen made it easy to prepare meals and hang out at the same time. The large table was ideal for our meals and games. Unfortunately there wasn't enough snow to use the snow shoes provided. The heaters in the game room were nice since it was very cold out. It was a little treacherous getting up to the loft area - the rope railing was loose. Would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the water and the outside amenities!

Winter Wonderland

  • 5 of 5

A group of us have been vacationing together somewhere in the North Country/Northeast during President's Day weekend for the past 5 years. This year we decided to try out a new house and we are SO glad we did. The Raquette Lodge has been our favorite stay to date. From the big, open great room to the fully stocked kitchen to the supply of snowshoes, we were so happy with our choice. The Game Room was PERFECT for our stay to avoid cabin fever as our visit fell on the coldest weekend of the year (-40°). Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable and helping us to create another year of memories. We can't wait to come back next year!

P.S. We believe the animal in the corner above the armoire is a Fischer.

Mini Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

We recently returned home after a family gathering at the RAQUETTE LODGE. The experience was just fantastic, in every way! As the organizer, I was becomming doubtful as we neared our arrival date that the weekend would actually live up to the excitement and anticipation that had built to frenetic levels. The opposite was the case! We are already talking about a return! Every aspect of the lodge met and exceeded our needs and expectations! It was as beautiful inside and out as portrayed on the website. The fireplace was wonderful, and burned better than any I have experienced. The bathrooms were much larger and nicer than anticipated, and the bedrooms were beautiful. On the porch, we barbequed, using two of the three Stainless grills. The Hot Tub was almost as popular as was the Pontoon Boat! The Gameroom became the nocturnal meetingplace for the younger crowd as the more "matue" gathered around the fireplace inside the lodge. We had hours of fun there each nite! I heard at least a dozen family members remark that the weekend was a "12" on a scale of 1-10! My only suggestion would be to consider a second refridgerator that could be kept in the gameroom area. Thank you John and Donna Clark for sharing the Lodge with us! We will be returning!!!

Owner's Response: How kind of you to take the time to share your appreciation of your time at Raquette Lodge. It makes us feel great to know that we had a small part in forming memories for your family. Thank you for giving us that inspiration. And yes, you are correct, a refrig in the game room would be really nice, so we are planning to make that addition before next summer.

Guys get away

  • 5 of 5

We returned for a second visit to this beautiful cabin. And we can't wait to start planning a 3rd. Everyone enjoyed the boat and kayaks. The game room was perfect for when it was raining. The accommodations were perfect and the owners quickly responded to any questions we had. Great place to relax and enjoy some laughs with friends and family.
