Tortola House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 1.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 5)

This secluded, private villa sits 400 feet above the palm-fringed white sands of Brewers Bay. With spectacular views to St. Thomas, Jost Van Dyke, Sandy Cay, Sandy Spit, Green Cay and straight out to the Caribbean Sea. You also have the luxury of a 15 minute walk to the beach or a 5 minute car ride. There are many outdoor sitting areas for shade and sun with Tropical gardens around every corner. You get the feeling of living in a spacious tree house. You can rock in the swinging rope chairs, relax on chaise lounges, relax on the 2 level deck with Tiki Hut Garden Grotto and hammock, relax on the tree deck under the shaded pergola or just float on the floaters in the soft water pool. Yes, the water is silky soft with no chemical smell, no dry skin, or red eye syndrome. This is due to the 1 tsp. of salt per gallon of pool water and a state of the art chlorination system. You are never lost for music with 2 sets of outdoor speakers and of course inside also and with Sirius/XM radio, you can always find your favorite music. Facing west, you will have a different spectacular sunset every night. This private villa is a West-Indian style home with14 ft. high ceilings. The master bedroom with king size bed has a quiet air conditioning unit, (rarely needed with the Caribbean breezes and Trade winds) ,large flat screen TV, and telephone. Each room has a huge paddle fan and there are Mexican Saltillo tiles indoor and out. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the appliances you could think of. Newly Maytag stainless 4 burner gas range and refrigerater with ice machine and dishwasher, micro, espresso machine, coffee makers, etc. My home has a washer and dryer (or use the ouside clothesline) . The large living room with a 58" HDTV to include over a 100 satellite stations. With a built-in DVR, you can record your favorite show for another day. The 14 x 24 pool is very private (full sun) and is perched out of the mountain side. In addition to the full bathroom, there is an outdoor garden shower (hot and cold) with a view to the sea.

Honeymoon in Tortola

  • 5 of 5

We had such a phenomenal honeymoon in Tortola. The house was private and the view was phenomenal. We enjoyed watching the sunsets, grilling out, the pool, the XM radio, and the Wi-Fi to stay connected to the world. Everything you need is at the house, so if you want to stay in you can. It is also close to other islands so if you want to explore you can. We went to Jost Van Dyke (Foxy's and the Bubbly Pool), Virgin Gorda (the Baths and the view from Hog Heaven), and St. John (Woody's, Sam and Jack's Deli for food and Cinnamon Bay for the beach). Road Town (10 minutes) is very close for groceries and anything you may have forgotten. John is such a gracious host and gives you great details on places to go and how to get there. We can't wait to get back!

Casa Allamanda=Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Simply spectacular! The house was everything and more than we expected. The views are phenomenal and Brewers Bay below is the nicest on the island from our point of view. Great snorkeling! The location of the house is very private, yet it is just 10 min. to Road Town & all the things you may need. Pool, BBQ, outdoor shower, XM radio w outdoor speakers & WIFI were all icing on the cake. John was a pleasure to deal with, and provided detailed directions & instructions prior to our arrival. He evened called after we arrived, to make sure we were happy with the accommodations & if we had any questions about the house. My wife ,daughter & I would definitely stay here again!

Feels Like Home

  • 5 of 5

Once again, Casa Allamanda Villa delivers. John and Susan have put so much effort into making their home feel like ours. The moment we stepped back into Allamanda, it felt as if we were coming home. This was our second stay, and there are more in our future, for sure. Everything you need in the kitchen is there…all the forks, knives, spoons and cooking utensils you need; lots of low ball and high ball glasses, wine glasses and coffee cups; there’s a great microwave, a coffee maker, a slow cooker and a gas range; the Weber grill on the deck is a wonderful upgrade. Have I mentioned the outdoor shower? We haven’t used the indoor shower because it’s so nice and private outside, why make a mess inside? There are ceiling fans throughout and the master has an air conditioning unit, but it's not really necessary in early February. Oh, and the pool is just perfect, and there’s great Satellite radio that plays on the speakers outside if you want. The WiFi is surprisingly fast and spans the whole house and deck. Perhaps the most amazing thing about Casa Allamanda are the sunsets...the best we've ever experienced. If you’re thinking about visiting Tortola for a week (or more), Casa Allamanda is the villa for you. John makes the process simple and hassle free. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Amazing View

  • 5 of 5

Two of us rented the house for a week. When we arrived it was very clean. The pool was the best feature. It was beautiful to watch the sunsets. We spent the majority of our time outdoors. We never used the inside shower or sat in the living room. The TV's were never turned on. The Sirius XM radio was an added bonus. Like all islands you will have your early morning wake up calls from the animals. We filled the humming bird feeder twice.

We liked the Rite Way grocery store in Road Town the best. Had the best meat selection, produce and liquor all in one spot. We used the grill three nights to cook steaks.

If you plan to explore the island, I would strongly recommend getting a four wheel drive vehicle. We rented a little Suzuki Jimni from Dee Dee's and we were passed often on the hills by the locals. Signal, pull over and wave them by. You will get a little beep beep of appreciation. At certain points it is difficult to tell the "road" from a drive way. Just plan on taking it slow. You never knew when you would pass four cows on the side of the road or see four goats on the steep side terrain.

We were able to visit almost all of the beaches on the island. The most confusion for us came getting from Brewer's Bay to Cane Garden. We felt better when we found four girls in a Wrangler with the same issue. We found it much easier to head back to Road Town and take the main road around the island to get to West End to catch ferry's to Jost Van Dyke. We saw Foxy both days. The Soggy Dollar still has the best pain killer.

We had a great experience dealing with the owners. Freddy was very responsive prior to our booking. He called a couple of times to check in before he found us at the house to see if everything was ok. He also sent a follow up email just prior to our departure.

This is the perfect house to relax and enjoy.

The house is amazing!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a glorious week at Casa Allamanda in Tortola. Everything about this house is simply amazing. Sunsets from the house are gorgeous. We spent every afternoon in the pool watching sailboats and beachgoers, sipping fruity drinks. We snorkeled Brewer's Bay 3 days in a row which is a very short drive down the hill from the house. The Sirius XM radio with speakers throughout the villa was an added bonus that we took advantage of every day. The kitchen was well-stocked. If you decide to rent this house, you don't even need to bother with the indoor shower. Outdoor showers with a beautiful view are the way to go. The WIFI was reliable for the unfortunate need to keep in touch with work.

It's probably best to rent a 4WD vehicle if you decide to rent this house (or drive around Tortola in general). The descent to the house is fairly steep and if it was raining, it would probably be needed. There is nothing like the first drive to the house and all you see is ocean! There are gallons of water on top of the refrigerator. We put one in the back of our rental every morning to use for washing sand off our feet after beach trips and keeping the rental car sand-free. We just refilled it every night.

If you're a light sleeper like me, you will need to use the earplugs in the kitchen drawer. Once the sun comes up, every chicken, dog, and bird on the island starts their daily party. I have a white noise playlist on my phone which worked for me.

I really can't say enough about this house. We felt like we were in our own private world at the villa.

The owner was so easy to work with and accommodated us on such short notice, I will forever be grateful. He called to check on us during the week to make sure everything was as expected. Thank you so much for sharing your house, John!

A Memorable Christmas

  • 5 of 5

We spent 10 relaxing days at Casa Allamanda over the Christmas holiday with our two teenage sons. The house was very comfortable, well equipped and wifi worked well. John was always responsive to my emails and made sure that we were settled upon our arrival. Be sure to watch his video on directions to the house...very helpful if you arrive after dark as we did. The salt water pool is lovely and the views from the house into Brewer's Bay are breathtaking. We spent most of our days at the beach in Brewer's Bay (perfect for paddle boarding) and long afternoon lunches poolside at the house. Tortola has a large grocery store and a nice French market in town for goodies, so island is well provisioned. Island Roots has great coffee. An overall memorable, relaxing Christmas vacation. Thank you to John and Susan for sharing your home!
