Recently renovated. With free wifi, free use of washer and dryer. Our location is unbeatable, 2 blocks from the Moscone center, in SoMa district, next to Marriott Courtyard hotel. 6 Blocks from Union Square a few blocks form the Ferry building, you could walk almost everywhere.
As I write we are just preparing to leave (so who knows, something non-fabulous could happen in the next 2 hours).
John has a number of apartments in this building, I'm sure they are all in the same great condition as this one. Well decorated, obsessively clean, everything functioning as it should. Outstanding bedding and linens (which is a real test point for us). Since I worked some, including a two hour conference call, having the office in the back of the apartment looking out over the garden was a nice add.
We were greeted by a wonderful spread of fruit, crackers, chips and wine. There are so many great restaurants that I did not cook (I usually do). But the kitchen is well equipped, ready to go.
The location is great, very convenient to the major tourist attractions and especially to Moscone if you're in for a conference or show. 200 feet to Starbucks, a block and a half to Umbria, a great Italian restaurant where I got to use my Italian with the waiters. We walked 15 minutes to Cirque du Soleil at ATT Park, 7 minutes to Moscone and the Museum of Modern Art. 12 minutes to Union Square.
There is a cab stand right around the corner, and you are 8 minute walk to the Bart station.
When I booked, I was a little concerned about the proximity to the freeway entrance. And in fact the apartment is very close to the ramp and there is some road noise. But even though the bedroom faces the street, John has worked it to keep the noise to a minimum. My wife who is a fanatic about a quite room found it satisfactory.
We don't know mutch about the relative safety of San Francisco neighborhoods, but we never felt any issue while we were here.
We've stayed in a lot of Homeaway type properties. This is one of the excellent ones. We are thinking about returning with freinds, just because this is such a great place to stay in a great city.
This 1 bedroom, one floor walk-up, apartment is quite close to Moscone Center providing easy walking distance to the Center. It was clean, but shows wear and could use a facelift. There is no view of anything from all directions, except a wall and the street. There is nearby construction that can be noisy. Neighbors, especially over us, could be heard easily. Looks like an old SF apartment. TV problematic but repaired quickly. Nothing wrong, really, and probably ok for short stay.
Location was convenient to Moscone and shopping. Apt photos do reflect the inside. The walls were thinner than we expected. Noise was not just from construction - anybody walking outside or cars going by on the busy street, anybody coming into the building, using the stairs or above us. Noise machine helps but if you're a light sleeper it will be challenging.
Great location and neighborhood felt safe. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was appropriately provisioned. The bedroom is in front and on a fairly busy street but that didn't bother me, although some folks might need to use the noise machine provided. I'd definitely stay here again.
Lot of space and great location.
Lot of noice and apartment is not so clean.
Comfortable apt. as portrayed. Only had one problem, but contacted Rose and she responded in about an hour and had the problem fixed. Main bedroom along fairly busy street, but "noise machine" provided in room and we slept well. Kitchen has dishes and cooking pans, but nothing extensive. Coffee maker and toaster. We just kept breakfast supplies here and ate other meals out. Had some issues with TV. It wanted to do "software updates" and we didn't know how to work around it. Location within a few blocks of bus stop. Walked to Fisherman's Wharf from here, but it was a hike. Mostly used bus to get around.
