1BR, 2 BA Oceanview Vacation Rental Duck, North Carolina USA
We live in Northern Virginia and I have to give credit to my husband for finding this wonder place we call our home away from home. He introduced me to the Outer Banks years ago and we’ve been coming down for wonderful vacations ever since… We've had great get-away-weekends here in Duck as well as big family vacations with the kids, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends...everyone. The Outer Banks and Duck have so much to offer couples and families--and we have definitely taken advantage of that! I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and still bleed Black and Gold—Go Steelers, Go Pens, Go Pirates!! The man of the house is from Northern Virginia and is a huge Caps, Redskins and Nationals fan. That's the basics about us. We hope you will come and enjoy all we find so wonderful with the Outer Banks!
L.R. purchased this Condo in 2012
Why L.R. chose Duck
Oh my, the first time we saw this beach condo we fell in love! Our first thought...this is what coming to the beach is all about--ocean views, comfortable space, a great deck and the Village of Duck right up the street. Our second thought...we get these great ocean views from the first floor...NO lugging our stuff up all those steps!! Hooray!!!
What makes this Condo unique
The best benefit--you are steps away from the ocean! Whether you like to watch the sun rise or gaze at the moon and stars, you can do it with the sand under your feet because you are just steps away. Second benefit...the views...whether you are walking out your front door, sitting on your deck or looking out the windows...you can see the Atlantic Ocean. Third benefit...this beach condo was just refurbished in January 2013 to include a brand new kitchen, brand new flooring throughout the entire space, brand new living room furniture, brand new KING size bed, an two new updated bathrooms. Fourth benefit...you are walking distance to the Village of Duck...or if you want to bring your bikes...there are bike lanes for you as well. Fifth benefit...All this from the 1st floor! Sixth benefit...All the other benefits of an Outer Banks Beach Condo that we don't have room to list!!

Relaxing in Duck
Overall we had a wonderful time staying here. Property was convenient to the action in Duck and also very comfy and cozy. Thanks for a great week, let’s do it again soon!
No ocean view, but I knew that when I rented and didn't need it because it was just a short walk to the ocean. The pool was great, the living space was clean, the bed comfortable, and the location was very centra to everything in Duck.
We are happy to hear you enjoyed. One clarification--we do have an ocean view, we are not ocean front, but do have a beautiful ocean view from both of our decks.
Clean and well appointed, this is our favorite place to rent in Duck! It has a king size bed, both televisions are mounted high on the wall for ease of view, and the deck has lots of space. And of course, it’s right next to the beach! Perfect for two people. Highly recommended!
VRBO - Vacation Renter BEWARE of Owner
First time using VRBO. NOT a good experience. The good: Location was great- 2 minute walk to the beach. Rental property was clean and “as advertised”. I would pick the location and even the rental community again (Colony by the Sea). However I would not rent from the property managers (Lynn R and Dan, property # 217973) ever again. The BAD: Our family vacation was cut short by Hurricane Dorian. Dare County issued a mandatory evacuation. As unfortunate as this was, the real unthinkable was when we learned the property manager (Lynn R.) REFUSED to reimburse us for the 3 nights our trip was cut short. So basically we paid for 5 nights rate, but only able to stay 2 nights. Other families we talked with, staying at the exact same rental community had reasonable owners. They were fully reimbursed for the unused nights affected by the mandatory evacuation. The insensitive and tone-deaf responses from property manager only added insult to the disappointment of Dorian. So there you have it. Choose wisely who you rent from with your hard earned vacation money!
It’s frustrating for everyone when weather, especially a hurricane, disrupts a vacation that you planned for your family and are in the midst of enjoying. Travel insurance, which is offered to all of our vacationers, can help to ease the frustration.
Our goal is to have everyone enjoy their time at the beach and when these situations occur, I offer all vacationers the opportunity to return at a later date, at no cost, to utilize any unused nights, as I did with this vacationer. Our contract does not provide for reimbursement of unused vacation days due to weather related issues, which is standard protocol with the majority of most vacation rental contracts.
I encourage anyone choosing to travel during hurricane season, or any time of year, to do the following before choosing a vacation rental:
1. Read the contract. Don’t just hit the accept button—but understand the reimbursement policy you are agreeing to abide by, by electronically signing.
2. Purchase travel insurance. Protect your vacation investment like you would any other investment.
3. Plan accordingly. Understand the time of year you are traveling and the weather implications and plan accordingly, knowing that your vacation may be interrupted by weather events beyond anyone’s control.
We encourage all vacationers to reach out and ask questions prior to renting our property to ensure they are comfortable with our contract and rental requirements.
Great place to stay!
Great location and super cute condo! we had a great time and definitely plan to come back!
We are so happy to hear you enjoyed. Duck is a wonderful place to spend time and enjoy the beach, good food and enjoy the company of family and friends.
The place is as advertised, close to the beach, pool in the complex, view from the porch, parking, well furnished, etc.
I thought the place could use a few convenience items. It is disclosed (I missed it in the list of paper products not provided) that they don't even provide toilet paper. They also don't have dish soap, a drying rack or much else as far as consumables. I've stayed in a lot of places that won't guarantee or say they have certain things but ultimately keep around things like lots of spices, oil, coffee/tea, soap, etc. The place while not "dirty" or cluttered was not as clean as we would have hoped.
Overall, it's a good property if you want to stay in Duck and everything is as advertised and is accurate and the owner's did respond to a question within a few hours.
Thank you for your feedback. We encourage anyone coming to stay at Ocean Breeze to review our “What to Bring” list and access the Hospitality App so they have all the information they need to plan for an amazing beach vacation with no surprises. There are markets and grocery stores close by to get everything you want and more!
We encourage anyone with issues regarding cleanliness or other wise to reach out during their stay to give us the opportunity to remedy the situation.
Condo rentals are very different from renting a hotel or other types of vacation properties. If unfamiliar with the rental model you may find it unlike other rentals you’ve engaged. We encourage everyone to ask questions so their expectations are met.
