The house is spacious and has an incredible view. The caretaker Ann Marie was there daily and provided delicious meals. Which was a bonus I did not expect. You do need to drive to pretty much get anywhere so I would recommend renting a car if you want to see the island.
Very large and secluded villa. Good views out to Caribbean Sea although now slightly more obstructed due to tree growth than pictures on line show.
Everything and more you will ever need is included at the property.
The ideal villa to relax in, situated at the end of a long lane.
You need to have a taxi to take you when you first arrive as difficult to find. If you wish to experience the island a hire car is a must.
All bedrooms have aircon, unfortunately as there is no aircon in the main living area only ceiling fans and there was very little breeze we felt that the heat was quite unbearable at times, possibly due to high humidity and with doors open for breeze the mozi’s had plenty of fresh blood so a good insect bite protector is a must.
Anne Marie who looks after the house is lovely and Although we told her to only come in every other day she would come in every week day to clean and change towels etc if required.
Illtyd who manages the house was very helpful and she will sort any problems should they arise. There is a folder with all relevant details and telephone numbers in the villa should need to contact anyone or need details on where to go. Both of these lovely ladies are a mind of information and can advise you on what ever you would like to know about the property and island.
If you like to eat local food the local bar restaurant just down the road on the junction of Windjammer resort is ideal. Nice food, friendly staff and very reasonable prices.
Windjammer resort also well worth a visit and welcomes non residents in their resort as do Carabash resort who shares the same entrance road to the villa.
Our favourite place to eat was Rawr in Rodney Bay. Although only snack type food like wraps, omelettes etc, they will make you up whatever you like with a very wide choice of items and all food expertly cooked and presented. Very helpful and polite staff who go out of their way to ensure your order of food is just right and always enquire and show interest that you are enjoying your island stay.
Cannot praise this eatery higher.
Our favourite place to visit was Pidgeon island, only approx half hour drive away, amazing beaches and the most stunning views.
If you want to have a beach virtually to yourselves, next turning South from villa at the crossroads leads to Smugglers cove. Small sandy beach area with only a couple of villas there.
Only negatives, barking dogs and gutter dripping at night to disturb sleep.
Awesome place Great views
We had a great time staying at the Date house. The house was beautiful and very well maintained. The housekeeper we had cook a few times and loved the food. Ester was very friendly and kept the place looking good. Illtyd from tropical villas was so helpful with arranging everything from our ride to/from the airport to all our site seeing adventures. She handled all the bookings and had no problems with anything. Illtyd made it a better trip for us with her handling everything. Great house, great trip, great service. Will stay here again
Wonderful vacation spot
Everything was excellent about the house and location. Anne Marie was very warm and welcoming.... and the rum punch was fantastic! The neighbors dogs were rather annoying barking in the middle of the night, but that isn't anything Robert can control.
All-around wonderful location for a St Lucia Get-Away
The write-up and photos really do say it all - stunning is the right word. Date House was a perfect home for our small family reunion. Large, open lay out with 4 bedrooms - all with AC and either a private bathroom or direct link to one - with well-appointed kitchen, lovely pool and patios. The services provided with the house-keeper and concierge services were a plus too. Really Perfect.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Date House last month (Feb. ‘19), and hope to stay there again.
I can’t say enough about our stay at Date House. We loved the house, the views, the amenities, and Ann Marie, who is friendly and very helpful. She even greeted us w/ a pitcher of Rum Punch and fresh flowers in every room.
The house is beautiful with amazing views overlooking the Caribbean. We loved the veranda for evening cocktails, the patio dining space w/ a Weber gas grill, an indoor dining area, and the large, well-maintained pool surrounded by a patio and tropical flowers. The kitchen was well-lighted and better-equipped for cooking than most we have stayed at. We also appreciated having a laundry room right off the kitchen.
The view of sailboats, ships and sunsets from the veranda and top floor bedroom was exquisite, and one night we actually saw the green flash!
The location is so private that we could hear beautiful birdsongs day and evening.
One of our favorite beaches was only ten minutes away at Calabash Cove Resort where we also enjoyed a few lunches and dinners.
The management company, Tropical Villas, was beyond helpful. Anything we needed got an immediately response by friendly, courteous people.
We were extremely glad that we had let them arrange a car for us from the airport because we never would have found the house on our arrival; many of the roads have no street signs, and Michael, our driver, got us there safely and had many helpful suggestions.
Iltid, the representative from Tropical Villas,
even arranged for our rental car to be delivered to the house the first morning. Although the roads are narrow, my husband was able to navigate them extremely well on our day trips to Castries, Rodney Bay, and an exciting, hairpin drive to Soufriere and the Pitons!
We would definitely stay at Date House again.
