About Pam or Glenn
Pam and Glenn, now retired from creating software solutions for the financial services industry, spend their winters on Staniel Cay. Crow’s Nest always has been their children’s’ favorite place since they were infants.
Pam or Glenn purchased this Cottage in 1984
Why Pam or Glenn chose Exuma
Crow’s was built in the late 1970’s by the original developer of Staniel Cay, who selected it as the best location on the island for his personal residence. Atop the highest point of the island, in the middle of 10+ acres, it is an historical icon that is visible by island-goers from miles away. Situated in the middle of a long white sandy beach, with views in all directions, Crow’s Nest enjoys the most spectacular vistas on the island.
What makes this Cottage unique
Crow’s Nest has been welcoming guests since 1985. Many of our guests have returned year after year, making it their vacation home. Crow’s Nest’s charm, breezes, amazing views, privacy and comfort offer you an unparalleled out-island Bahamian experience in the beautiful central Exumas. The island’s amenities are only a few minutes away. Great snorkeling, the swimming pigs, iguanas, Thunderball Grotto and more are right here in the Staniel Cay area.
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
Overal beautiful place however needs AC in the rest of the house. It may work during the winter, but extremely hot and muggy in the summer.
Crows nest - beautiful getaway!
We enjoyed the views, peace and quiet, and rustic nature of crows nest and the Staniel Cay island!
Exactly what we needed.
My wife and I had decided on a trip to the Bahamas to celebrate our 30th anniversary and had been looking for a spot to stay for a few months when I found the Crow's Nest. Reading the owner's description and renter reviews and Staniel Cay and the Crow's Nest seemed like the perfect location. We were not disappointed. We're not the type who likes crowds or being catered to, so we really felt like we'd found the right place for a private get away. When we arrived, we knew we had absolutely made the right choice. What a perfect, private setting for a week away to unwind and relax. Minutes away from everything on the island, but private enough that you feel you're the only people around make this a great location. We loved the layout of the house and frequently cooked breakfast there and enjoyed the sunrise or the early morning quiet and ocean breezes on the porch. Spent many an hour on the beach or at the gazebo, relaxing in the sun, swimming in the gin clear water or paddling around in the kayak. If you're comfortable with a boat, Berke at Isle's General can hook you up and you're minutes away from many adjacent cay's that hold their own treasures. You'll enjoy the locals almost as much as the scenery. A special thanks to Pam and Glenn for their very thorough Staniel Cay/Crow's Nest 'Cheat Sheet'. Having never been to the island or the Bahama's prior to this trip, the information was priceless and made all the new steps in the process very easy and the trip extremely enjoyable. My only regret is we didn't book two weeks....You can't go wrong with Crow's Nest or Staniel Cay and we will be back!
A week in paradise
The Crow's nest is a secluded oasis over looking the beautiful Staniel Cay. From the amazing waters, breath taking sunrises and sunsets, whitest beaches and private beach what more could you ask for in a December vacation to the Bahamas. Thanks Pam and Glenn!
Incredible location and views ... very private and wonderfully relaxing
Very relaxing and private ... everything we hoped and more
Stunning views and total privacy for our honeymoon
We stayed at Crow's Nest for our way-too-short honeymoon and it could not have been a better trip. Our days pretty much went like this:
Wake up to panoramic views
Sit on a breezy porch with cup of coffee and a book
Snorkel around your own private beach
Boat around the islands spotting sharks and stingrays
Watch the sunset with a beer and a cheeseburger
The house is just as described and photographed. We slept like babies in the upstairs bedroom and the comfy living area has everything you need (TV, soundsystem, wifi). We were almost disappointed that the wifi connect so well. The views really can't be beat and it's so wonderfully private. Walk down a short trail to a soft sandy beach - we were literally the only ones on the beach all week. And there's some really nice healthy coral to snorkel.
We highly recommend renting a golf cart and a little boat from Berkie & Vivian and cruising around the islands. We packed a cooler with PB&Js and beer and spent most of every day out on the boat.
Pam and Glenn are wonderful hosts and provide a ton of info about the island and things to do nearby. They even left us a "congrats" bottle of champagne in the fridge!
Thanks for a great week. We can't wait to come back!!
