About Sally L Godard
Your hosts are Ron and Sally. We've raised our three children here since 1988, and they're now all young adults. We're not yet retired, but able to do some of our work from home. We're friendly, casual introverts. It has been great to meet a wonderful variety of people from all over the country.
Why Sally L Godard chose Yamhill County
Sally is a native Oregonian. She lived in Portland during her young adulthood, and hoped to raise the children in a more rural area. McMinnville (pop. 33,000) has been perfect. And the countryside is beautiful! One of our friends dubbed our place Low Heaven Farm. It stuck -- and we have to agree that it IS 'heaven on earth.' Three large black walnut trees frame the house, and we added evergreen trees to bring some winter color.
What makes this Apartment unique
We love our country living, while still being close to town. Have a busy day, then return to relax. Sally continues to expand the orchard -- it now has 34 varieties of apples, 8 plums, 5 pears, 4 cherries. Ron relishes his time on the tractor, and he just added 24 solar panels so the apartment's electricity needs are now supplied by solar energy.

Lovely, clean, comfortable place to stay in the Willamette Valley. My husband and I were greeted by the owners, Sally and Ron, who could not have been any nicer! Fresh flowers adorned many spots in the home, had an almost 180 degree view of the landscaping, farm, animals, tree house and the valley below! Birds flew near the bird feeders scattered about on the property. Such a relaxing and rejuvenating place to awaken each morning and come back to in the evenings. Centrally located to so many wine-tasting rooms and restaurants. A major plus was having breakfast items stocked in the kitchen. I also enjoyed playing the piano that was tucked in an alcove! Just everything you could want was provided! Loved it! Thanks Sally and Ron!
Amazing view and very relaxing
We arrived late in the evening and was greeted with a warm welcome. When morning came and we opened up the shades the view was amazing. The tree house is a child's dream and the pictures don't do it justice. Although the flower gardens were not in bloom this time of year it was still very well kept and I am sure it is beautiful in the spring and summer. We will definitely stay here again if we get the chance to visit Oregon again.
Thanks much, Sandy! We hope you can visit again. We appreciate how clean you left the apartment, too. Sally & Ron
The place was super clean and had all the comforts of home. Great property and views.
This was our second visit to the property. It is so beautiful that we may come back next year. Ron and Sally provided our choice for breakfast fixins each morning. Super comfortable and could have hung out all day checking out the animals, fruit trees and of course the tree house, but there are too many wineries to see in the area. Definitely a 5 star rating plus a few bonus stars.
Thanks for the kind words. It was great to host the two of you, and we're glad you had a nice time. Maybe on your next visit we'll get to see more of you! Sorry for that leaf blower noise one morning -- the hazards of an October visit. ;-(
Enjoy your holidays!
Best Home Away From Home EVER
This is our 3rd stay at Sally and Ron's--and we like it so much we plan our trips to McMinnville around when this place is available! Everything is absolutely perfect--very warm and welcoming.
You two are wonderful! I hope we have better weather for you next time.
Thanks for your kind words. We're pleased that our place works well for you.

Just what we needed for a relaxing time in Wine country Oregon
The place is beautiful, cozy, full of details, amazing views, spotless and equipped with everything. The hosts are warm and generous, made us feel home. I loved cooking in the giant kitchen! Had the most wonderful time. Looking forward to coming back for a longer stay.
Farm style retreat in the heart of Oregon wine country.
First, Sally and Ron might be the nicest people in the valley. It all starts with Sally's checklist of how you would like your breakfasts to be stocked. Do you like certain cereal, do you like yogurt etc?
The apartment is set up comfortably. It's a one bedroom. The combination living room and kitchen is large. Our son stayed with us for a few nights. He slept on the very comfortable sofa bed.
The location is ten minutes from central McMinnville. In ten minutes, you get out of town and into the middle of farm country. There is a farm down the road with a farm stand selling fresh fruit and vegetables straight from the fields.
The location is about 25 minutes from the main wine tasting area of Dundee. But there is also plenty of wine tasting in McMinnville. If you like good food, there are literally dozens of places within a 25 minute drive.
All in all, it's a very clean, well appointed retreat. You will be able to see all the Willamette Valley wine country, then return to a very serene place for your own down time.
We have stayed here twice. Our son, who lives in Portland, has also stayed here. We will definitely be coming back.
One hour drive to gorgeous beaches on the Pacific Ocean. Hike along the Nestucca River or try your luck at fishing. Haag Lake is nearby for swimming, boating, fishing. Wine-tasting and lovely countryside with more than a hundred nearby local wineries in Yamhill and Willamette Valley wine country! Evergreen Aviation Museum and Water-park. Portland activities are 70-80 minutes away.
