Dale and Jean have always enjoyed country life. Although they live near Charlotte, High Country Haven provides a wonderfully relaxing mountain retreat to share with friends and family. They welcome you to escape and enjoy their cozy mountain home.
Jean purchased this house in 2007
Often times, at dusk, you will see a family of deer leaping through the the front yard of the beautifully landscaped 3 acres. After sunset, the privacy of the woods and lack of street lights allow you to clearly gaze at the millions of twinkling stars in the dark night sky. Although you have seclusion, you are only a few miles from a grocery store, Walmart and Lowes, as well as many site seeing destinations.
We were looking for a cool spot in the mountains and this was a great location. The house was well equipped and the master bed was comfortable. We visited the surrounding area and took a mountain hike. It was a very pleasant weekend.
As usual, we were very happy with our stay. Close to West Jeff and other surrounding towns with restaurants and shops. This year we got to attend the yearly West Jeff antique faire which was great.
Very convenient to the Jeffersons and surrounding areas with easy access. Neat, clean, comfortable...all on one level.
We had a wonderful time staying at the High Country Haven! The cabin is very comfortable and inviting and it was just the perfect amount of space for me, my husband, 5-year-old son and 6-month-old son (and all of their paraphernalia)! It was clean and decorated nicely and it felt like we were staying in a cabin up in the trees! West Jefferson is a cute town and Christmas in July was a lot of fun. It's a short drive to Boone and Blowing Rock as well. The only thing I can complain about is that we had to leave a day earlier than planned due to my baby's ear infection, but other than that we had a wonderful time and would stay here again!
This is one of the cutest little cabins we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. It's cozy and nice if you need to just getaway. Rooms are comfy and location is convenient.
This house was a wonderful and very peaceful place to stay. Everything was great and we had a great time. Family played games, sat on the porch and just enjoyed getting away. Would love to go back.m
