Great Stay
Quiet location with all of the necessities for a relaxing get together. Spacious and clean house with great views!
Thank you for staying with us!
Very nice home, easy to work with, great trails nearby.
Pervis was very helpful in meeting all our needs. The house was clean and has a very well stocked kitchen. The area is very remote, but still only took about 25 min into Fayetteville. We had a wonderful time and made some great memories!
Outstanding stay
Excellent stay at the Vandalia house. Plenty of room for four couples to stretch out and relax. Nice view from the porch, fully equipped kitchen for cooking meals. The location is very quiet, and multiple trails are in walking distance. House has all the modern amenities you need, AC works great in the heat. This is an excellent option if you have a large group of friends going rafting nearby for the weekend. We would definitely stay again.
Awesome!
Houses and property are located in one of the most spectacular settings period. Constant drone of both the Gauley and Meadow Rivers is hypnotic. Wonderful trails with access to world class views. A definite two thumbs up! Highly recommended!
Vandalia Vacay
I just got back from a weekend at the Vandalia House in the Confluence Resort with some friends. What a wonderful 2 days we had. The house was immaculate and BEAUTIFUL! I felt like I was in an HGTV dream house! The beds were comfy, the kitchen well-stocked, the fireplace was gorgeous. It rained the first night, but no big deal, we sat around the large dining table playing board games, laughing hysterically and just enjoying each others' company. We got up the next morning, made a big farm-style breakfast, then headed out to fish and do some light hiking on one of the many trails. The area is so peaceful and stunningly beautiful that you can really commune with nature.
We came back "home", got ready and went into the charming little town of Fayetteville where we ate dinner at The Secret Sandwich Society (YUM!). Great service, good food, good price! We went back to the house, sat around the campfire and talked about how much we were enjoying ourselves and how we'd come back to the Confluence Resort in a minute. If you go, you may make some new friends with an adorably friendly brown and white dog who loves to have his tummy rubbed before he goes back home and a beautiful, fluffy, friendly cat who hung out with us ALL NIGHT! He/she was still on the porch when we woke up the next morning! Don't worry about them, though. They both have homes nearby.
The only "complaint" I have is that the directions we were given were incomplete. They end at the Patterson House, which is fine, if that's the house you rented. Since the road turns into all gravel and you see signs reading, "private property-no trespassing", you really wonder if you're in the right area, especially if you arrive near dark. A little disconcerting. Oh! And if you want to hit one of the restaurants in Fayetteville or Summersville that are in the binder the owners put together, CALL FIRST. Fortunately we did and the first 2 we called were closed--and apparently had been for quite some time.
Thanks Confluence Resort! We'll be back!
