About Lisa Rudacil

Rudy and I live in Silver Spring, MD, which is less than a two hour drive from Colonial Beach. I have been going to CB since 1986, to visit our friend, whose grandparents built a cottage at the Beach before the Gov Harry Nice Bridge was built. There used to be a ferry boat carrying thousands of visitors from DC and Maryland that floated down the Potomac River to the beach. We fell in love with the Quiet Neighborhood, beautiful sunsets and the restaurants! We decided to buy our cottage as a home away from home.

Lisa Rudacil purchased this cottage in 2002

Why Lisa Rudacil chose Chesapeake Bay - Northern Neck

Our cottage is two houses away from a wonderful view of Monroe Bay, which the locals call the Creek. It's so beautiful in the summer time to take a walk, ride your bike or take a golf cart ride around this part of Colonial Beach. We love our back deck and our large back yard.

What makes this cottage unique

Our cottage is an original cottages and is really cozy! Our Four Seasons Cottage takes you back to simpler times, while providing all the comforts that make for a really nice vacation getaway! Bike Fest Oct 5-8th.

Guestbook comments from the owner

If you are ever looking for a vacation without giving up the convenience of being at home, you should consider the Four-Season cottage. Here you will find the owners have paid attention to every detail to make your stay comfortable. I don't wish to write a long essay, but you will find a well stocked kitchen that even has magnets on the refrigerator door, a grill in the large backyard with a nice deck, a lovely screened room to eat in, the fastest wireless internet connection you can imagine, and a very lovely serene area to just kick back and relax. You may even feel a little like a guest instead of a customer.

Great house! Relaxing, comfortable, and very clean!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this house and location! Very short distance to the beach and bay. Our kids enjoyed the closed in front porch area and also the deck in the back of house! Well stocked, and very clean!! Will for sure stay again if we are ever up that way again!

Wonderful stay at Four Seasons Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our few days in the quiet golf cart town of Colonial Beach. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well-stocked. It has a cute beachy feel and the owners are very attentive to your needs. The cottage has everything we needed including Wifi and outdoor space!

The area is refreshing , calm, and has lots to do, the owners have a lot of suggestions of what to do and where to eat in a book for the guests.

I hope everyone has as good a trip as we did!

A lovely place to relax

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely cottage. The owners are attentive and have included many small touches to make your time in their home comfortable. The deck and the backyard catch breezes from both the river and small bay. It is definitely a walkable, bike-able community. The cottage is small but cozy, ideal for a couple or small group. My husband and I are geezers and could have used a railing on one side of the steps going up to the deck but it was a minor concern.

We found Colonial Beach's Sage Bakery--baked goods home-made, yum! and the Art of Coffee in Montross, worth the drive. To pick fruit--Westmoreland Berry Farm or just sit in the rocking chairs and rest your eyes on the lovely farm (goats to feed, too!) This is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the DC area and only a 90 minute drive!!!!

Owner's Response: Adding a railing next to the deck steps is a great idea! We are always updating our cottage to make it more comfortable and to keep it cozy. We advertise that we are small, cozy cottage, original to Colonial Beach. We are really glad that you enjoyed your stay and the town of Colonial Beach and even gave us a new place to try out in Montross. Thank you for being our guests! Lisa and Rudy
