Allenspark Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Moon River Cottage is a cozy mountain paradise located in the midst of Roosevelt National Forest, facing the St. Vrain River. Rocky Mountain National Park is only minutes away. The cottage is located in the charming hamlet of Raymond/Riverside only a short, beautiful drive from Estes Park, Lyons and Allenspark.

Boulder is about 30 minutes away. The cottage is completely newly remodeled with eclectic, yet very comfortable furniture and artistic decor.

The granite peaks that rise just above your view of the river will take your breath away. During the warmer months, the lovely cottage garden is a delightful place to dine 'al fresco' or just while away the time reading or fishing to the sound of the music of the river. The entire property is fenced for your privacy, and the safety of children, while not obstructing your view of the river and mountains beyond.

The bathroom has been completely remodeled with an easy access tub and shower.

Wildlife abounds. The hummingbirds and chipmunks will amuse you with their daily visits.

Our friendly property manager is just across the road, should you need him.

great location

Restful quiet location. About 30 minutes from the Beavers Meadows RMNP entrance, where there is gas, cell signal and a small grocery. Only minutes from the Longs Peak trail head. Interior and exterior of cottage were beautifully designed. Cottage very well cared for. Morning coffee by the river with a large rock outcropping in background was one of my highlights. Cottage is a ways from town which we liked. No cell signal nearby but cottage has wifi, land line and satellite tv. We hiked Longs Peak and came back to cottage exhausted where we relaxed and watched some college football. Cottage was perfect size for the four of us.... my two brothers, my son and I. Susan and Isaac were very prompt with all communication. Would highly recommend to friends or family.

Beautiful Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We researched a lot of different areas and places to stay during our Colorado vacation, and absolutely couldn't be more pleased with our choice of the Moon River Cottage! This place felt like a little slice of heaven along the river and mountains... what more could you possibly want? After hiking at Rocky Mountain National Park most of the day, it was great knowing we could come back to the cottage for peace and relaxation. Thank you Susan and Isaac for your prompt communication while deciding and confirming our reservation and for sharing this beautiful cottage with us.-- :) We definitely recommend Moon River!!

Best place to stay in Colorado

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised by this little cabin in the woods and exceeded our expectations. This cabin has everything you need and so many wonderful additions like the hummingbirds that hang out on the back deck area; the sound of the river; the cool breeze from the river and a little art studio. Inside the cabin, you have a full kitchen, very nice bathroom, wonderful beds, washer/dryer and a cozy place to sleep. The sound of the river is awesome. My one concern was no AC and Susan was right, you don't need it here. This amazed me! The weather was perfect, cool and comfortable. All you need to bring is some groceries so you don't have to leave! Susan and Isaac sent us an information email with lots of cool details about the area. We used trip advisor too. This mountain getaway has been well taken care of and has so many unique little details that make this place the best cabin in Colorado. Every details has been thought of. Susan and Isaac were so easy to communicate with and booking/paying was simple. Thank you for sharing this amazing place with us. We have made lifelong memories here and hope to return one day.

Hidden Colorado Gem

  • 5 of 5

From the beginning, Susan and Isaac were easy to work with. Their communication was prompt and they answered any questions that I had. Once I made the booking, they emailed my everything that I needed to know and more. There were recommendations on where to hike, where to eat, where to shop. All things that I wouldn't have known, if they hadn't taken the time to put together such an informative welcome packet. We were so unfamiliar with the Colorado area, and it really gave me a jumpstart on how to plan our stay.

Just looking at the photos online, I knew that I had to stay here. And that was just from the photos. The reality was so much better. This small home had plenty of room for our family of 4. The inside is eclectically decorated and very comfortable and cozy- a welcoming feeling for sure. The second room, which has a futon, was already prepared for us. The futon was laid open, an addition mattress on top, and ready for my children, with no work at all for us. The bed in the master bedroom was so comfortable that I was able to drift immediately to sleep (not an easy thing for me). Everything was just as I had hoped.

But the real win is the back yard. I was ready to move in forever. All of the landscaping was so well done, and many of the flowers were in bloom for our visit. And through the gate was the river, just like the pictures indicate. I sat out there every morning on one of the provided glider rockers, drinking my coffee and watching the river go by. Across the river is the side of a mountain, so you aren't staring at any neighbors. And because the cottages sit on the river, you can't even really see your neighbors unless you physically walk over to the edges of the property. It was so nice and remote, just what I had hoped for.

Our stay at Moon River Cottage far exceeded my expectations. I am grateful for the time my family had to spend there, and only wish it could have been longer. This is truly a hidden Colorado gem!

Everything was exactly as stated on VRBO. Did not have any problems communicating/dealing with Isaac. The cottage on the outside was beautiful! The cottage on the inside was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We are definitely going to come back and stay in this cottage again and this time we are going to bring the rest of the family! Also I will be recommending this cottage to my friends and family. We only stayed one night so we did not leave the property, but we did see a moose walk right in front of our cottage!
