This property is in a quiet area of Pacific Grove and we enjoyed the laid-back vibe on our recent stay. The owner has taken good care of the home and provides lovely details. You won't have to search for towels here and they will be good quality. The master suite is lovely. We were even able to see the fireworks for Festival of the Lanterns from an upstairs window, which was a treat. The only drawback to the master is that there is no door to close it off from the downstairs. Noise can be a problem if you have some night owls staying with you. The kitchen is small and has limited counter space, but we weren't interested in cooking any big meals. The owner was really nice and answered all questions promptly. We had a lovely visit with our daughter and son-in-law here.
We really enjoyed our stay at this charming historic home. The house was perfectly decorated from top to bottom, perfectly stocked from kitchen to the bathroom. It was everything that I imagined and more. We enjoyed being so close to the main street where all the restaurants were and also to the beach which was perfect walking distance. 17 mile drive and sunset at Spanish Bay was amazing and it was only minutes drive from the house. The quality of the linens, towels and the beds were top class which we really appreciated. My sisters were sad to leave their beds...And finally we LOVED the wood burning fireplace in the living room. It made every night cozy and warm. If there is one request, somehow it was hard to find tops for some of the pots. Otherwise, we did not have to buy oil, salt, coffee which was just wonderful. Best vacation home I have visited in a long time. Thank you Dorothy for all your detailed instructions and help! Hope to be back soon~
The beds were so comfortable! All of us, 4 adults and 2 kids, said what great sleep we got while staying there. We honestly were not there much, as we were exploring and walking around a lot. But the location is great, especially with kids as it's a stone's throw away from Lover's Point and walking distance to the Aquarium. The house was extremely comfortable with big bathrooms, large dining room table, and big kitchen which had plenty of plates and cutlery along with dishwasher. We hope to visit again soon.
House was just the right size. Great accommodations. The best part of this house is the owner is fantastic to work with. Communicates quickly, and takes pride in her house. Great location with walking distance to the Lighthouse, golf course, 2 minute drive to the Aquarium, Lover's Point. Thanks again for everything!
This is a lovely home just a few blocks away from the Pacific Grove downtown district and easy walk to Lovers Point and the Aquarium. It lots of room to spread out, a nice little yard in which to enjoy your morning coffee, and a great dining room for a big family. The kitchen is well stocked, including basic condiments and spices.
We chose this house as a home base for visiting Big Sur, Carmel and Monterey, but were pleasantly surprised by all that Pacific Grove had to offer. It's a charming town with good restaurants and fun shops within walking distance. The waterfront is only a few blocks away where people kayak and paddle board near sleepy harbor seals sunning themselves on the rocks. All of the rooms are thoughtfully decorated and we felt pampered in the comfy beds overflowing with pillows. The home is especially set up for enjoying lovely meals with family and friends at the long dining room table or grilling on the garden patio. The owners were very helpful and it is clear that they have spent time paying attention to all of the small details that make for a special stay. We hope to come back for a longer visit next time.
Monterey Bay Aquarium is 1.5 miles; Walk the ocean waterfront on a 9 mile path .4 mile from the house; Pacific Grove shops are .3 mile and theater .6 mile; Laguna Seca Raceway 13 miles; George Washington Park is less than .25 mile away--a natural appearing unimproved forest park with hiking and wildlife habitat; Watch the Monarch Butterflies winter October to March; AT&T Pro Am Golf Tournament in February; Concours d'Elegance and Monterey Historic Automobile Races in August; Enjoy many local festivals including Monterey Jazz Festival in September and Carmel Bach Festival in August.
