Isaac and Christina are working professionals, Isaac in real estate and Christina in publishing. We have a daughter, Jade, who was born eight days before we purchased the building, and a son named Miles. Both Isaac and Jade were born in NYC, and Christina has called NYC home since 1991 when she came to the city to attend FIT.
Christina Burns purchased this townhome in 2007
Classic, old school NYC charm. Since we live here, it is like having a trusted friend in the city.
We spent 4 nights in this really typical and cosy appartment and it was perfect.
Location, owner's kindness and helpfull, very charming and very clean appartment. We'll sure come again!!
We just stayed here this past weekend with four of our friends who came in from Boston and DC. We are from Baltimore so it was a great reunion. None of us had used VRBO before and it was a fantastic experience. The rooms were comfortable and we had everything we needed! The location was great and we found good bars, restaurants and a great coffee place within short walking distance. Christina was very responsive to anything we needed - leaving/dropping off our bags. It was great and would love to come back again!
My 6 year old boys and I had the good fortune to stay in this flat with my good friend and her daughter for five nights of fun and comfort. It was my guys' first trip to New York City and this was a perfect venue for exploration and relaxation. The apartment has everything it needs, and the beds are very comfortable. The bedrooms are larger than they appear in the pictures and there is abundant closet space. The fold-out bed in the living room was even quite comfortable (we left it open with pillows tossed on it as a big couch). It was great to have one and a half bathrooms, perfect for the five of us. Christina and Isaac are gracious hosts, helpful but not intrusive at all (and quite nice and interesting). The book they put together of local restaurants and resources proved invaluable and accurate. Christina's suggestion for a new pizza place that just opened within 2 blocks was ideal for dinner at home, especially paired with the delicious and sinful Italian pastries at Veniero's less than 2 blocks away. My boys sat at their first sushi bar a half block away at a deservedly-high ranked sushi locale. The home is situated conveniently to the subway and numerous great parks for kids, as well as terrific shopping and fabulous people watching. We went to Broadway shows, museums, Highline Park, Central Park, FAO Schwartz, the Lego store, Dylan's 3 story candy store and ate our way through the city, and we were able throughout and at the end of each day to return to the comfort (and air conditioning!) of our own East Village apartment, just like locals. We would absolutely stay here again!
Our family had a great time for our 6 night stay in the apartment while in New York for our daughters graduation. The location can't be in a better spot for sightseeing, dining, shopping, and anything else we could think to do while in New York. The apartment is central to the subway system and we were in Brooklyn for Grimaldi's pizza in 20 minutes. We did not use the kitchen to cook in with all the fantastic places to eat so close. It was a very short walk to NYU buildings we needed to visit. Christina and Isaac took care of everything from being there on our arrival to helping with the computer in the apartment. Highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting NY and wanting to see what it's like to be a local.
We had a lovely stay in Christina and Isaac's apartment in October. Unfortunately we had terrible weather which limited our ability to explore the city but it was great to be staying in a warm cozy apartment. The living area was very large and looked fantastic and both bedrooms were a good size, the bathrooms were small but that is what I remembered about NY. There were 4 adults and 2 kids and we fit into the apartment just fine. I can strongly recommend the steak salad from Mr Smith around the corner - a fantastic restaurant/bar. We caught a tour bus that had a stop close by and Soho was only a 10 minute walk (when it finally stopped raining!!) We also walked one morning to the Empire State Building and it only took approx 20 mins with a good coffee shop on the way (they were filming a movie next door to the coffee shop but I couldn't spot any movie stars!) The tour book that Christina has put together was great and all the maps etc provided were invaluable. Both Christina and Isaac were very helpful and friendly and their daughter was very sweet. Christina was pregnant when we were there so it would be nice to hear about the baby when it arrives!

My family and I had a wonderful stay in Christina & Isaac's home. We had 3 adults and 2 active children for a long weekend stay and the apartment was the perfect size. We were so pleased with the lovely apartment and the hospitality of our hosts. We visited our friends, who also live in the East Village with 2 babies, and they were very impressed with not only the beautiful apartment, but with the great guidebook Christina made! I would highly recommend a stay at this clean, bright, convenient and comfortable home. Can't wait to return!
