Fine! Thank you!
Cozy, charming house!
Would we rent it again, yes. Overall we loved the house and the especially the location. The host is attentive and nice. We had only 3 issues that were quite annoying:
1. Only after 2 weeks of our stay, the toilet would burble and burp during a shower and it sometimes would not flush at all. Plunger! We alerted the owner but she said it was our problem to fix it. We had a plumber come ($500) to see if there was a clog but he didn't find any. He thought it was a venting issue.
2. The house power lines to the street are tangled into the trees outside, causing a loud noise each time the wind would blow. Sometimes all night long. Very annoying.
3. Both full size beds (not queen size) mattresses were very uncomfortable. We bought two pillow top mattress covers but that only helped a little. I am 6'2" and these beds are too small for me. We ended up sleeping in different beds just so I could sleep diagonally. So if you are tall, you wont be comfortable. If you are smaller, I'd suggest you sleep in the guest room bed because it a little more comfortable.
Having spent countless summer weekends in Sag, I can truthfully affirm that Melanie's home is a great deal. A fantastic market (with great coffee, yummy desserts & prepared meals [if you're too lazy to cook]) is around the corner, the neighborhood is quiet & only a short walk from Main Street, and the beach was within walking distance. We loved being able to eat out on the back porch or in the sunny kitchen. And the home was exactly as pictured (with all of the charm--- carved fireplace mantle, wainscoting and beautiful hardwood floors). I would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I had stayed at this lovely spot a couple of times in the past and tried to book it a couple of times when we were too late! This last visit was the best. Melanie's attention to detail is evident everywhere. The house is pristine, like a jewel box. We've spent hours just sitting in the kitchen, at that fabulous table, contemplating a permanent move to such a peaceful place. The fireplace is just what you need at the end of a walking day in the village. A quick walk and you are having a nightcap at the American Hotel. The beds are dreamy and comfortable with great linens! Melanie is easy to communicate with and always just a phone call away. We will return!
