Freighter Heaven
We loved our fall getaway at this adorable cabin. The fall colors were gorgeous and the weather couldn't have been better! Sunny and cool temperatures so we could explore the area comfortably as a family with our 2 dogs. We especially loved seeing the freighters lumber past the cabin- our favorite times were lounging on the huge porch early in the morning and late at night when the lights from the freighters drifted past. We hope to return for a summer trip! The cabin had EVERYTHING! It was comfortable and cozy- a true gem!

Sugar Island 2023
Had a wonderful vacation on Sugar Island. Cabin was just as described. Property Manager responded quickly to my questions. Had a great time fishing. Dogs loved playing in the yard and water. Tons of freighters passed by. Definitely will recommend the place to everyone.

Perfect Spot, Perfect Island, Perfect Cabin
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and came home well rested and relaxed. The cabin is beautiful and the views are gorgeous. We say multiple frieghters going north throughout our stay. We cooked outside every night except the first when we ordered pizza from the bar on the island (which was very good as well). We went to the community market on Saturday morning and bought an amazing blueberry pie from Farendy Farms. This is also who I ordered wood from, so we could have fires in the firepit every night. The mosquitoes were non-existent. We were there in mid-September. We saw the ship museum in Sault Ste. Marie and the Soo Locks on another day. The cabin and beds were extremely comfortable and we slept very well for our entire stay. We will definitely be back! Also, everyone is extremely friendly on the island. Everyone waves at you, it's like living in Mayberry in the 21st century. Truly amazing!

Why they chose this property

First of all, this large 11 acre wooded lot provides a peaceful and secluded setting. Whether you are just a couple wanting a peaceful week away, or a family with children wanting to make a little noise on the beach, you will find this location to provide a nice private setting to enjoy. One of the very unique attractions are the occasional freighters and ships from around the world that pass directly in front of the home. There are few places where this experience can be enjoyed, and this is one. Experiencing the ferry ride, staying on an island, enjoying the company of family, fishing, swimming, evenings around the campfire, and much much more make this location one of the most unique you will ever find.
