The 'New Look' of 'Barefoot Lagoon'.
Our Island House has recently had a complete interior renovation. All new furniture throughout including living room, dining room, and both bedrooms.
From the moment you move in to the minute you depart, you'll have your own private home with all the creature comforts at your disposal. Kick off your shoes, and relax in a home away from home or play in the sea. Taste culinary delights and end your day with a romantic Caribbean sunset. Located in the heart of Rum Point on the north shore of Grand Cayman, this two-bedroom/2.5-bath home is ideal for a family or two couples. It features a swimming pool, deck, a lagoon with dock, and water views from both the two-story, screened-in porch and the bedroom balconies.
Island House is set in landscaped gardens with white sand on the quiet waters of the lagoon
just 150 feet from your back door. It's fully equipped with every comfort for an outstanding vacation in a contemporary tropical house.
The famous Rum Point Beach is accessed by a sand path between white picket fences -- just a few steps from the front door. As you walk towards the beach, cool trade winds will quickly erase all thoughts of your job, commute, and bad weather at home. You'll see Australian pines with island parrots and tropical birds sitting on their feathery branches.
This lovely home features lots of glass to take in the incredible views. Looking through a two-story wall of glass from the foyer, office/music room, and living room, you'll see the Caribbean Sea. Turn around, and you'll see the screened-in-lanai, backyard, and the lagoon beyond (about 50/100 feet) through 20 feet of sliding glass doors.
Adjacent to the living room is the dining room and kitchen.
Kitchen amenities include a coffeemaker, microwave, blender, rice cooker, and all the necessary cooking utensils. Off to the side is a closet with games and storage space, a half bath, and a laundry room with a washer, dryer, ironing board, and laundry supplies.
Directly off the kitchen, the two-story, screened-in lanai features an informal dining area with a barbecue gas grill. Form the lanai you'll have an unobstructed view of the hand-raked, sand lawn, backyard with tropical tress and shrubs -- leading to the pool (within 50 feet), boat dock, and lagoon shoreline.
This Island House offers two master bedroom suites upstairs. Each bedroom has a full private bathroom with shower and bath, and sliding glass doors opening onto a private screened-in-balcony. Both rooms have a lagoon view. And both have walk-in-closets, a ceiling fan, TV, a clock radio, and individual air-conditioning.
One bedroom is equipped with a king-size bed and dresser, while the other bedroom has two double beds and dresser. Located on the quiet North Side of the island, a 45-minute drive from the busy city of Georgetown, it has the famous Rum Point Beach only a few steps from your front door, a fresh water pool only a few steps from your back door, an inlet lagoon that exits in to the Caribbean Sea, many activities for adults and children, many very good restaurants, a complete water facility 'Red Sport Sails' at Rum Point Beach which offers any water sport you could want, a convenience store within a short distance and some of the World's finest neighbors. Grand Cayman's Best Kept Secret!
Barefoot lagoon was the most enjoyable vacation spot my family has ever chosen. We rented the house for a week and wish it had been two. My children loved having their own room, and the rest of the house was extremely comfortable. The kitchen was completely stocked including recipes from previous guests. We spent every morning out on the Lani and then headed to Rum Point for the rest of the day. After spending the day on the beach the kids did like the option of a pool to play in at the end of the day , the pool was just a short walk out the door and the house provided floats for use. We are already planning out return trip for this year and plan on staying 10 days. This the the iedal location for Families to stay, away from crowded seven mile beach but still reachable by car in about 20 minutes.
Hi Mr. Nevins,
I am finally getting around to thanking you for a truly wonderful
vacation at your beautiful island home.
Our vacation this past April was excellent and too short by far. It was my parents' first trip to Grand Cayman, and they have done nothing but rave about how clean and relaxing Barefoot Lagoon Island House was. They loved walking to Rum Point everyday for lunch, to relax, to look through their small shop, and to book a Stingray City tour.
My step-father spent many hours relaxing by the pool, while my mom
enjoyed the kayak and collecting shells near the lagoon.
I can't tell you how much it means to me to have been able to share such a wonsderful place with them. They work so hard for everything they have. It was just great to see the stress melt away and the smiles on their faces.
Oh yeah, my husband and I had smiles on our faces too!
Everyone has already decided that we want to stay at your lovely home again the next time we are blessed with a trip to Grand Cayman.

We spent 14 days at this wonderful home and it truly felt like a second honeymoon - an amazing vacation. The home is very warm and inviting, clean with all the amenities needed, and the Nevins are wonderful to work with. They provided bikes, kayaks, snorkeling gear and rafts/items to use in the pool which were all used and great to have access to. The location to Rum Point is very convenient and the snorkeling is amazing. We will definitely be back and this is a must do vacation spot.
Our first time to the Caymans and we will be back - and stay here. First, the condo is well laid out. What is unusual is that is has the equivalent of two master bedrooms. Each has it's own bath and balcony. So a two couple vacation works since each bedroom is nice. And the downstairs is large with additional room to sleep for a family. The location is great: right across the street from Rum Point, itself a destination beach. Great snorkeling is right there and even better a short walk to the nearest public access. And all the snorkeling stuff is included. Right out the (large screened) back porch is the lagoon which is good for kayaking - also included. This is a great place to do nothing or to do a lot. We're going back.
First let me say Michael the owner was so easy to communicate with, very efficient and super organized. All questions were quickly and thoroughly answered. The house offers everything it says in the VRBO brief. Our teen girls loved the kayaks at the house and the pool. There was also a fun diverse DVD collection we had some good family time watching! Mitzy the management company lady was quick to address any questions we had too and scheduled a cleaning request (we were staying for 2 weeks) at 24 hours notice. Rum point is literally across the road from the house. A one minute walk to a beautiful beach, gorgeous blue ocean, super friendly staff and awesome cocktails while watching stunning sunsets just can't be beat!! Our teens even tried the paddle boarding at the beach here ($20 for half hour) and we snorkeled there too. Not great snorkeling, but fun. Water at the beach is only waist deep in most places so great for young families and the whole place and facilities are kept super clean. We were over there most days at some point. The restaurant there was really good too for an easy evening out, when hubby fed up of driving. Be aware, staying at this house absolutely necessitates having a car. Georgetown is a good 45 minute drive and reasonable supermarket is 30 mins away too. We loved the quiet versus commercialism of seven mile beach area and don't mind driving. We did scuba diving, pony/swim ride (coral stone stables) paddle boarding, snorkeling, golf, swimming with the turtles at Spotts beach (amazing!), kayaking and lots of pool/beach relaxation too. Totally recommend this listing!
This has been our 5th trip to the Cayman Islands and our second stay at Barefoot Lagoon. This home is clean and has all the amenities you could want. The furniture and bedding is very comfortable and the floor plan gives both comfort and privacy. Mike, the owner was a pleasure to work with and if you should need any assistance the property manager is always availabe to assist. We only wished we stayed longer in this beautiful home. It is a beautiful getaway and a perfect location. I prefer this side of the island for it's natural beauty and relaxing location. The Cayman Islands are very safe and everyone is very friendly. We will return, thank you Mike.
We loved Barefoot Lagoon. The area was perfect for us..close to pool and beach. Not crowded..loved ability to walk along the beach. The restaurant at Rum Point was very good. Our accommodations were perfect for us. Bright, clean, close to everything. Beautiful sunsets from the pier. Mccurley,s car rental was great and the convenience of going to grocery store on the way was ideal. We will definitely come back!!
Barefoot Lagoon Island House is located in the quiet area of Cayman Kai, steps from beautiful Rum Point Beach.
