Happy extended family!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our extended family August 2016 stay in this large lake home. The owner was very quick to respond to questions and issues before our stay, during and even after our stay (someone forgot camera equipment). Kudos for his extraordinarily fast responses.

The home is big, beautiful, on a large grassy lot with a few shade trees, a long pier and lots of outdoor seating areas (screened in porch, firepit area and 5 lounge chairs on the pier). The lack of stairs to get to the lake is rare and wonderful for the grandparents in the group! We had kids as young as 9 and grandparents 80+ years old. The lake was sandy-bottomed, crazy shallow the entire length of the pier and a comfy temp.

The kitchen was well stocked, the game room had lots of fun stuff (but we were outside 90% of the vacation) and we found plenty of seating for meals and relaxing.

The only drawbacks we found were minor and plumbing related! The septic alarm alarmed on our 2nd and 5th day there. We only had 12-14 people in the home so we didn't expect that. The septic cleaning company emptied it within 12 hours both times...speedy service! The other plumbing issue was the lack of pressure. Our showers were decent as long as no one else in the house touched anything with water!!! If you even flushed a toilet, washed hands or certainly did dishes or used another shower, the shower reduced to a trickle.

The positives by far outweigh these 2 minors negatives, but we wanted to provide an honest review.

The owner provided some suggested places to visit. Daves Falls was terrific: an unusual wonder in WI! The little zoo nearby was fun too! Our kids held baby monkeys! Fun!!

Owner's Response: Glad you had a great time. As for the water pressure , we had the well cleaned prior to your stay, which created sediment and the plumber did not change the whole house filter as he should have. Easy fix. Thanks for letting us know

Neat Family Place to Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We took our first extended family stay at the Lakehouse Rental-- grandparents, parents and children... it was a wonderful time! Each of our three families had our own "wing" in the large, beautiful home. We enjoyed the game room on rainy days, campfires at night and being out on the water! Our children were thrilled to catch fish! The hammock was both fun and relaxing! The hot tub and screened seating was also a treat! So much to do in the area as well! The homeowner was helpful and great to work with. We look forward to returning again to this gem!

Perfect! ! !

  • 5 of 5

My family and I just returned from a week's stay at this wonderful home. It was everything we imagined.

Very spacious and easily accommodated our family of 13. We noticed how quiet the area was and never once heard or saw any of the neighbors.

It's a beautiful home with log interior throughout and very tastefully decorated with the 'up north' feel we were hoping for.

Lake views from almost every room. Large grassy yard leading to the lake just yards from the house. Shallow sandy shore that was perfect for the little ones to swim and play in the water all day.

We took advantage of the kayaks and paddle boat provided and were able to dock our boat right at the end of the pier.

All in all, it was a perfect week ( in spite of the cool, cloudy weather much of the week ) .

I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a large beautiful home right on the lake that will accommodate a large group.

Thank you so much Donna and Scott for your wonderful hospitality!!

Excellent Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Great family vacation at the lake house. We had 8 adults and 5 children, plenty of room for everyone. Master bedroom and bath are excellent. Enjoyed the pool table and air hockey. Great large dining table for eating and family games.. Enjoyed camp fires each night down by the lake, nice to have wood supplied. Excellent swimming at the end of the dock for the kids, great sandy bottom, kids could even walk out from the dock. Kids fished from the end of the dock, worked great. Used the kayaks and paddle boat, great fun for all. Rented a pontoon boat from the Ski Hut, delivery and pick up, good service. Pontoon was great for cruising the lake and fishing. Went out to eat at the Timberline Resort, excellent service and friendly people, good menu and food, ate outside on the deck overlooking the lake.

Lake house property was clean and well maintained, would recommend to all for a wonderful family vacation. Our family would like to return again next year.

Great Fishing and Fun!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third year at the lakehouse for our extended family of 15. The house and facilities are just as described clean, comfortable and roomy. The hosts provide a great fire circle adjacent to the lake. We enjoyed a campfire every night. Several of us like to fish. We had fresh blue gill, crappie and perch three nights during our week stay. It is great because the kids can catch fish right off the 200' dock and the water is only about 4' deep at the end with a nice sandy bottom. It is a beautiful location on a peaceful lake. Grandma and Grandpa even felt comfortable in the kayaks and they are in their 70s!

We had no trouble sleeping 15 and with three and a half baths we got along fine. The house is designed to provide privacy with a great game room for the kids. We are looking forward to returning next summer for a peaceful retreat at the lakehouse. We always enjoy an afternoon at the unique zoo in Wallace about 20 miles away. They feed the big cats at 1:00 and it is impressive.
