Victorian Waterfront Home

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, sleeps 8

This three-bedroom, two-bath farmhouse is ideal for large families or small family reunions. Located on Lodge Creek, off the Yeocomico River, Lower Potomac, it is just a short run to the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay. The house sits atop a small knoll, overlooking Olverson's Lodge Creek Marina, a family owned and operated facility (not a working boatyard). A slip for your boat is even included. Relax in the outdoor heated swimming pool or in the shade under the huge tree as you listen to the twitter of the swallows or watch the osprey family in the nest. Try your hand at catching dinner off the dock or along the shoreline. Take a short drive to see the historical sites. There is plenty to do or nothing to do, whichever makes your vacation ideal! The property is rented on a weekly basis only in season.

We really enjoyed staying in the farm house and it was very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed hanging around the marina and getting to know the wonderful local people. The swimming pool was very refreshing after a long day of sight seeing. Also we had alot of fun fishing and crabbing from the dock.

the best of both worlds... fishing and farming!

  • 5 of 5

Loved every minute of this house... from the large shady tulip poplar in the front yard, to the views of the sailboats in front and barn in the back. My family wants to return every year. Loved the simplicity of the house... from the creaking original old wood steps to the front porch door slamming every time one of our kids came in from 'wherever'. Felt totally at home and comfortable in this very reasonably priced rental. The owner, Mr. Olverson, was even nice enough to leave fresh picked corn on our picnic table. Now that's what I call "Southern Hospitality."

Family Visit

  • 5 of 5

We came to visit with our daughter who has 4 kids. Since it is very busy at her house, we decided to rent the farm house for the time we were going to be there. We really enjoyed our visit. The house itself is very clean even though it is an older home. It is very peaceful there and it overlooks the marina. In fact sitting out in the screened in porch one morning there were dolphins swimming in the marina. There are chickens, a horse and a miniature horse. My grandchildren really enjoyed that.

I would recommend staying here for anyone,

Farmhouse Vacation

Excellent water views and sitting area by the water. Great property for pets (lots of dog walking areas). Great screened porch. Remote location, good for boaters (marina at property). Quiet at time of year visited. Owners/Management very nice and laidback.
