Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10)
This charming, clean and nicely decorated cabin (we call 'the baby') is adorable. It is a great family oriented cabin in the very wooded but friendly area of Agate Bay.
It has a freshly redesigned & renovated, fully equipped kitchen, newly renovated bathrooms & bedrooms, & a completely redecorated loft sleeping area with new linens and a cozy sitting\play area for the kids (and those young at heart). The icing on the cake is the large deck with your own hottub, great for warming up in the winter and lounging in the summer.
In the summer the kids can walk to the enclosed private homeowner's pool and spend the day playing volleyball, tennis or bad mitten as well as swim in the heated pool and eat from the snack bar.
Then walk on to the private pier at the lake to further sunbathe and swim in the beautiful Lake Tahoe.
We are very close to one of the Tahoe Rim trail entrances. A beautiful view once you reach the top. An hour hike for all ages. It is also fun to walk to breakfast to the old Carnelian Bay Post Office converted to a wonderful old world cafe.
In the winter months the woods are covered with snow and the cabin is warm and cozy. Ski lifts near by are North Star, great for family.
Diamond Peak which is a bit smaller (and sort of a secret to the tourists) is close, and is a lot of fun with three very long runs. Mt. Rose is to the east a bit further.
It is also close to Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley but the above are a bit less of a drive. The cabin is on a slope so tobogganing is right outside the door.
Then back to the cabin for a hot, relaxing Jacuzzi on the deck.
You will love your stay in 'The Baby' as it has brought many wonderful memories to our family and friends and many return renters.

About Stephany Stencil
We are a family of 5. We spend a lot of time at the Lake. We live and work in San Diego, Ca. We love to get away to our cute quaint cabin in the pines. It is a wonderful year round retreat.
Stephany Stencil purchased this Cabin in 1996
Why Stephany Stencil chose Carnelian Bay
We have always visited Lake Tahoe to ski and snowboard as a family. We have family in Reno, so the annual ski vacation included much of our extended family as well. We finally bought our own cabin about 20 years and we spend a good amount of time year round at the Lake. In a lot of ways I now prefer the summertime for our time at Lake Tahoe. Winter is wonderful but there is so much to do in the summer. We are fortunate enough to have ownership in the Pool and tennis court and pier at the Agate Bay community which makes it so convenient to enjoy the outdoors and mountain living.
What makes this Cabin unique
There is a great hiking trail directly above the cabin. It is pretty straight up at times but well worth the fire thighs. The trail up is about 1 hour. You get to sit at the rim and see the view of the whole lake. It is a thrill and too gorgeous for words. The hike down is quick and fun. Watch out for the bears! The pier and pool are walking distance and are so refreshing during the summer. Buoys are available. Skiing and snowboarding parks are close by. North Star and Diamond Peak and Mt. Rose are very close.

This cabin was the best! It has great rustic charm, but full of all the needed amenities. The owner, Stephany, was great to work with and super responsive to all my questions beforehand. During our stay, two small issues came up, and she worked quickly to help us despite the fact that she was sick and had sick kids at home! She was committed to getting the issues resolved for us.
Overall, a great relaxing weekend for us! I am looking forward to coming back again!
Great location, perfect set-up for a family
Snowshoeing up the road from the cabin was amazing. Easy location to get all over North Tahoe Bay. Clean, nicely updated and we loved the hot tub, too.
We had a great time here. The house was in a nice neighborhood and had just about everything we needed- the North Tahoe Regional Park, where they have a couple good sledding hills for the kids, was just minutes away in the car, as was Safeway. The house had good heating and plenty of sleeping options, especially with the upstairs loft, which my 9-year old daughter just loved. We enjoyed eating at the central table and the kitchen had a good layout. It was fun using the hot tub with snow falling all around, and my daughter had fun playing in the yard with all the snow- we even managed to build an igloo right on the deck. Stephany was easy to work with and I believe it was a fair price for the location.
My family & I enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, clean, cozy cabin in the woods. 2 nights was not enough. We are definitely going back!
Cute cabin, great for families
We really enjoyed our time at this cabin. Downstairs it has two bedrooms both with king beds. Upstairs is an open loft with lots of beds and a nice big bathroom. It would comfortably sleep two families with kids. We loved the hot tub.
Overall very comfy and cozy for our winter stay.
Super cute cabin. Loved the decor.
Awesome experience! We got snowed in one day and skied and snowshoed the neighborhood. Already making plans to return.
