This charming, clean and nicely decorated cabin (we call 'the baby') is adorable. It is a great family oriented cabin in the very wooded but friendly area of Agate Bay.
In the summer the kids can walk to the enclosed private homeowner's pool and spend the day playing volleyball, tennis or bad mitten as well as swim in the heated pool and eat from the snack bar.
Then walk on to the private pier at the lake to further sunbathe and swim in the beautiful Lake Tahoe.
We are very close to one of the Tahoe Rim trail entrances. A beautiful view once you reach the top. An hour hike for all ages. It is also fun to walk to breakfast to the old Carnelian Bay Post Office converted to a wonderful old world cafe.
In the winter months the woods are covered with snow and the cabin is warm and cozy. Ski lifts near by are North Star, great for family.
Diamond Peak which is a bit smaller (and sort of a secret to the tourists) is close, and is a lot of fun with three very long runs. Mt. Rose is to the east a bit further.
It is also close to Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley but the above are a bit less of a drive. The cabin is on a slope so tobogganing is right outside the door.
Then back to the cabin for a hot, relaxing Jacuzzi on the deck.
You will love your stay in 'The Baby' as it has brought many wonderful memories to our family and friends and many return renters.

We are a family of 5. We spend a lot of time at the Lake. We live and work in San Diego, Ca. We love to get away to our cute quaint cabin in the pines. It is a wonderful year round retreat.
Stephany Stencil purchased this cabin in 1996
We have always visited Lake Tahoe to ski and snowboard as a family. We have family in Reno, so the annual ski vacation included much of our extended family as well. We finally bought our own cabin about 20 years and we spend a good amount of time year round at the Lake. In a lot of ways I now prefer the summertime for our time at Lake Tahoe. Winter is wonderful but there is so much to do in the summer. We are fortunate enough to have ownership in the Pool and tennis court and pier at the Agate Bay community which makes it so convenient to enjoy the outdoors and mountain living.
There is a great hiking trail directly above the cabin. It is pretty straight up at times but well worth the fire thighs. The trail up is about 1 hour. You get to sit at the rim and see the view of the whole lake. It is a thrill and too gorgeous for words. The hike down is quick and fun. Watch out for the bears! The pier and pool are walking distance and are so refreshing during the summer. Buoys are available. Skiing and snowboarding parks are close by. North Star and Diamond Peak and Mt. Rose are very close.
Clean, beautiful, and centrally located. Hot tub was wonderful, as was the fire place. The owners also sent the deposit back quickly. :) I would for sure rent this space again.
Enjoyed two nights / three days at the cabin on Thanksgiving weekend 2016 -- perfectly timed, as we woke up Sunday morning to a winter wonderland (about 12" of fresh powder).
The cabin itself is really cute, cozy, and rustic -- perfect for the six of us (4 adults & 2 kids) to hang out, play board games, watch TV, cook and share meals together without feeling like we needed more (or less) space. We felt very comfortable in the home, from the moment we walked through the front door.
The living room was cozy (not too small – just right!), and the wood stove provided ample heat. Digital cable is available, but we opted to bring our ChromeCast for easy access to all our favorites.
The kitchen was well equipped – it had every utensil, pot, pan, etc., that we could possibly need. We loved having access to the gas BBQ out on the deck -- we used it the night we arrived to make dinner. The deck was really spacious and surrounded by big beautiful trees, and the hot tub was perfect (especially while it was snowing!). The neighborhood was peaceful, with the cabin situated on a corner away from the main road (far from traffic, but close enough that we could get groceries, lattes, etc., within a few miles).
The two downstairs bedrooms were good size with big, comfortable beds, and the kids loved sleeping up in the loft (where there were plenty of beds to choose from). There was a nice bathroom upstairs and another downstairs (shared by the two bedrooms). Plenty of warm blankets and fluffy pillows were provided, along with several throws (which we used when snuggling up to watch movies at night).
We REALLY appreciated having a washer/dryer in the cabin. With all the time we spent playing in the snow, we ran several loads in the dryer to defrost the cuffs of our pants!
Another bonus: The house is situated on a bit of a hill – which meant we could step right outside our door, carve out a path in the fresh powder, jump into snow saucers (found at Safeway down the street for $16.99), and slide down the hill over and over again. The kids absolutely loved it!
The owners were extremely responsive and very pleasant to work with, from start to finish. I would not hesitate to rent this cabin again in the winter months -- though it might not be ideal in the hottest summer months, since there does not appear to be air conditioning.
The bottom line: If you’re looking for a peaceful, cozy home-away-from-home where you can escape the crowds, this is it.
We had an amazing time at the cabin this weekend. The house was just remodeled and we loved the decor and the furnishings! The house had everything we needed and was perfectly cleaned when we arrived. It was such a simple process to book, pay and start the weekend and we had no trouble at all. We spent the weekend hiking- just up the street- and playing with our dog on the beaches in North Tahoe and, being in the off-season, it was so nice and not crowded. This house is located in the middle of everything and we never had to drive far to get anywhere. I would come back and stay at this house again without hesitation!
We had an amazing stay everything was perfect the owner was very nice we will definitely rent it again and also recommend to our famil and friends
Your home was beautiful and we felt like we were in a cozy cabin in the woods!! We will definitely rent your home again!
This home sits in the trees with a welcoming deck to relax and enjoy nature on. The home is clean and cozy. The down stairs bedrooms are a very nice size with comfortable king size beds. Upstairs is an open loft for "family style" shut eye. The upstairs accommodates 5 (three single beds and a queen/full in a cove…If I remember correctly). This kitchen is "cabin style" and gives you the basics for your food preparation. If you are wanting to bbq, check for propane first as it was out for our dining pleasure, so we had to use the broiler. Overall, a nice experience.
Hot Tub on deck plus, Renters have access to large pier within walking distance. Buoys available by request. One Block from private Swimming pool with lifeguard, tennis court, bad mitten, snack bar. Additional fee to access the swim club and pier.
There is a great hiking traill that hooks up with the Serria Rim Trail directly behind the cabin's location. Beautiful panoramic views of the whole lake.
