This sophisticated apartment is situated in the middle of one of the most exciting areas in the city. Within walking distance are the Castro district, the Lower Haight neighborhood, the Haight Ashbury, and Hayes Valley. Public transportation directly outside the door connects you to the entire city.
Have the convenience of buses, Muni Light Rail vehicles, and Bay Area Rapid Transit to easily get to the new Baseball Park, Cole Valley, Upper Fillmore, Union Square, cable cars, the Embarcadero, North Beach, and dozens of other interesting neighborhoods on both sides of the bay.
The apartment is two stories above the corner of Haight Street and Divisadero Street, in a six-unit Victorian building. It's a corner apartment with a southwest exposure, and is delightfully bright and sunny. Please note that this is a busy corner and some traffic noise can be heard in the apartment.
The living room has 12-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, a decorative Victorian fireplace surround, period details, and some contemporary touches. Furnished casually with leather modular furniture, oriental rugs, color, and contemporary art, it's a comfortable and interesting place to come home to.
The kitchen is well equipped, and has a range with grill, microwave, toaster, a dishwasher, disposal, and cool urban-sized fridge. A generous pass-through from the kitchen helps keep the cook connected to the living dining area.
One bedroom has a king-size bed in the corner bay window, Japanese tansu, a Chinese cabinet, and other Asian art. The other bedroom has a bay window, and is nicely furnished with a queen-size bed. Deep brown walls set off some striking paintings.
The bathroom has a tub, shower, and double sinks. The bathroom's striped walls and eclectic décor, together with the morning sun make it a delight. You'll find plenty of towels in the carved Chinese kitchen-style cabinet.
The street entry is behind a secure outer gate, which leads to the doors to the stairs. Very close by are stores and services, public transit as well as Buena Vista Park and Golden Gate Park.
A private garage with automatic opener is available in the building. Drive in, close the door and enter the apartment via the back of the building. ($25/night).
Come and stay in a real San Francisco neighborhood, and spend your vacation living like the locals.
A week in San Francisco enhanced by staying in this well appointed and ideally placed apartment. Spacious and welcoming.
The apartment had everything we needed and was in a perfect location. Be sure to take ear plugs as it is smack in the middle of everything and gets a bit noisy. The location makes it worthwhile. Both Evan and Rick were great hosts.
I read the reviews about the noise. However, It did not bother me in the least. I wanted a true San Francisco experience and I knew this location would be perfect. The location was great. I also wear ear plugs so no problem here. The apartment was tastefully decorated and clean. Evan and Rick were great and very easy to work with. I would recommend this location to anyone that wants a really neat place to stay.
Only pro from me is there was no iron or if there was I never found one.
We were very happy with this location. Rick met us promptly and was helpful. Evan dealt with a few minor issues expediently. Everything we needed was here and the space was wonderful to relax in after a day of exploring. Good restaurants and grocery store nearby!
The apartment is perfect for two colleagues as we were but suits well for a four person family. Very clean and well located. Just a little bit noisy sometimes due to the traffic.
We rented this apartment for a 7 day family vacation. There were four of us and there was plenty of room for all. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated. Just a couple of improvement suggestions...the smaller bedroom could benefit from darker window treatments. If you're sensitive to light and it wakes you up, bring your eye shades. A portable fan would also be great for warmer days, which we had a couple of during our stay, although I'm sure they don't happen often. It is definitely noisy on the weekdays, but that didn't bother us a bit. The location is great and the neighborhood is fun and eclectic. There was an odd odor in the apartment but we got used to it. Maybe it's from the oriental rugs? Just a thought. I would definitely stay here again and hope to visit again soon. Absolutely loved the city!
